Eisner wouldn't have done this.
Eisner wouldn't have done this
how long until disney holds a monopoly on all entertainment?
GIVE IT BACK
THIS ISNT RIGHT
THAT WAS OURS
It's still in WDW, retard
Yes he would have. I loved Eisner as much as the next guy but he did stuff like this all the time.
People shat their fucking pants when he removed Mr Toad for Pooh
Why are they spending so much money on franchises that will be dead in 5 years? Normal people don't give a fuck about GoG or SW.
Yep. People can say what they want about Eisner, the man's heart was (mostly) in the right place. He really did care about Walt Disney's legacy and wanting to continue it with (albeit failed) ventures like Disney's America.
/themeparkgeneral/ when?
TPs are more closely related to television and film these days than they are to travel and /trv/ which is just white guys discussing what slant countries have the easiest whores
Yea Forums usually has really solid ones, but it's maybe one thread every couple weeks
I dont give a fuck about comics or cartoons though
Anyone miss Alien Encounter? Shit like that was ballsy, they don't have balls now.
Me neither. I normally check if there is a thread up every once and a while and make one if there isn't.
Prove to me I'm wrong. No one normal likes Star Wars anymore - and GoG is reddit garbage. The reality is kids don't give a fuck about either.
This. Eisner's many successes were dragged down by some high profile failures, many that weren't even all his fault. Iger on the other hand, is successful in doing exactly what he wants to be doing, which is making money.
Also, under Eisner, Disney World had an off season where you could go and not bake in lines for hours all day. No longer.
There is still an off season, it's just incredibly short
When I was there late September, you could walk onto space mountain and be on Splash within the same 20 minutes
Please explain this idea of "off seasons" to me. I've only been to Disney World twice in my life and I've never heard of a park having an off season. What does that even mean?
It means there aren't many people there and the lines are short. There used to be lots of times like that, but now there aren't really so it seems.
Tell me when you went exactly. I need to know, friend.
>WDW
Gross
Imagine not having the best ride of all time.
All mainstream entertainment has been Disney-tier for the last 10-20 years anyway.
But that really be blamed on Disney, can it? If more people are going to the park than in Eisner's time, more power to them. Sucks for the park goers who have to wait in lines, but it's not like they can turn people away.
I was a castmember at a time, so I don't have the exact dates it was dead like I would have if I could just check my booking receipt, but it was definitely September.
There were always huge crowds during the summer, but now they've added discounts and festivals throughout the year to attract people. I guess there's no financial reason not to do that, but it makes it much more stressful to go.
We have it's superior sister ride
Good to know. Thinking I'm going to plan a trip next year. September's the time I suppose.
Because they think they can cash in big in those 5 years and don't think about the 20 years after it that really matter. The executives making these moves can jump ship with golden parachutes after their plans fail like they have for decades. Disney went from playing the long game to short term profits, unless you count their attempts to change culture as a whole for the children growing up today because it worked so well in the 90s without even trying. If I was a conspiracy nut I'd say the short term profits were the smoke screen to keep investors happy while they focused on brainwashing youth for the long term for other goals.
BASED
>tfw every piece of media will be plasticized, mass produced garbage in less than a decade
>no exceptions
god what the fuck please tell me this is some fag on twitter's concept art
Has anything good happened with the theme parks under Iger?
is the lilo and stitch ride that replaced it the same thing just reskinned or did they completely rebuild
Iger is playing it safe, doing remakes of Eisner era films, purchasing valuable studio's like Pixar & Lucasarts etc
I don't think he deserves all the credit he is getting
too long
Literally nothing.
Only good thing disney does with theme parks these days is DisneySea which isnt even managed by disney. It's managed by some asian company
Does Jap Disney have an off season still?
Mission Breakout is visually an eyesore, but the ride itself is pretty good for being based off capeshit. It's different enough from the original (which was inferior to World's Tower anyway), and I'm glad they can both exist (one in CA, one in FL).
Yeah Eisner wouldn't just ruin a single ride at a time, he would go for an entire park.
Your average, overweight, room temp IQ mongoloid who pays to have a family vacation at WDW still gobble up Star Wars and anything with a Marvel logo, what are you talking about
>Eisner tries his hardest and purs his soul into giving the park a renovation
>Disney goes bankrupt
Win/Win desu
