2019 and were forgotten
Some one post the pic!
Reboot when?
Because the Peeta guy wasn't hot enough and is a manlet.
Thank fuck, that and twilight were the dark ages of cinema
the little sister was hot
it lives on in spirit with Fortnite being so popular
both are shit, but the movies are better than the books
they should make an HBO prequel series
each season is a different hunger games set years apart, each episode is in real time
The YA adaption meme seems to be nearly dead. HP, Twilight and early HG were massive, but subsequent attempts were dead in the water.
Is it because no new YA series have become big enough to get an instant cross audience?
Incidentally, I’m looking forward to Artemis Fowl being the blunder of the century
Who?
i think the reason the ya genre died is because it was all the same shit
teenage girl living in a dystopia joins a rebellious force against the rulers and manages to come out on top through various means
These were pretty damn good for having YA as source material.
what was that junk where the people could only have one emotion but the girl could have all of them. i think that killed it.
It just seems odd that no authors have tried exploiting the gap in the market.
In the 90s to early 2010s you had a pretty consistent string of YA series doing well, like his dark materials, Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter, Eragon, Twilight, Hunger Games, etc, while also a slew of smaller names like edge chronicles, Darren Shan, The Old Kingdom, Mortal Engines, etc..
For years now it seems like the genre has just rolled over and died despite the gap.
there were 4 of those? wow
Divergent, it was really bad
Why was it called Hunger Games?
No one was hungry and the games was not about food it was about children killing eachother.
And the Maze Runner(s) were truly awful
They did win food.
I fucking love the second one. I have no idea why, but it's so much more enjoyable than it has any right to be.
Maybe its the characters or the worldbuilding stuff.
At least it gave us a great, if brief, era of Aidan related shitposting.
It was a scathing rebuke of aid agencies working in the third world (i.e. world vision. red cross). Unfortunately, the nuanced message flew over most people's heads since all they could think about was love triangles. A shame really, but I'm sure centuries from now, people will be viewing this masterpiece as one of the great pieces of English literature and filmography like we do Shakespeare or Orwell.
shit flicks anyway who cares
