But with Mallrats they were like cartoon characters. Which was pretty funny too.Though with Chasing Amy they were slightly more back to being grounded. Then they go back to being cartoony again in Dogma. But the act did start to wear itself out. Jay and Silent Bob Strikes back was a bit much. I guess it was a send off of jay and Silent Bob for the fans. It was also Kevin Smiths attempt at making his own 'mad-caps' Pee Wee's Big Adventure/ Lampoons Vacation type movie. I think he said somewhere that it was his 'big dumb action movie' or something like that. Plus an excuse to shove in Star War's actors, when it was still cool and obscure.

I don't know about the current jay and Silent Bob. I may see it. But I don't expect it to wow me.

This is a little off topic, but if I was an actor, I would never, ever do a reboot thing like this where you are reprising the exact same role and that's kind of the joke. Because it's forever recorded on screen how old you look. Like everyone in this except Ben Aflleck looks a million years older than they did in Jay and Silent Bob Strike back or the other stuff from that era, and that's only because he has fake hair and probably takes HGH every day. Jason Lee looks like shit, and I was Shannon Elizabeth, I would have probably killed myself to be sort of recreating scenes from a movie I filmed when I was young and hot, and everyone is going to compare how I look in one or the other.

I keep wanting to follow on with watching Clerks 2 after a viewing; my memories of watching it long ago will have to do since it is near unwatchable and a horrific deviation in quality.

Basically the same as Tarantino. Their first movie is the best (Clerks/Reservoir Dogs), the second is much higher profile & budgeted and you can make an argument that it's better (Clerks 2/Pulp Fiction) and from then on it's been a downward slope. They also act in their shit despite not being particularly good actors.
