I'm still pissed off and in disbelief. Anyone else?
I'm still pissed off and in disbelief. Anyone else?
>Why do you think I came all this way
Ok what the FUCK did he mean? So he knew all this shit was going to happen? That's incredibly fucked up to keep that to himself.
Why? You could see it coming. The show wasn’t good after season 4.
>drop the show multiple seasons prior
feels good man
It's the perfect conclusion to this whole train wreck of a phenomena. I hope all those GoT knock offs fail to preform too and the whole thing is just forgotten.
has there ever been a bigger nose dive in television history?
I have no idea why you are in disbelief, this shit was coming from season 5.
Dexter after the first season is a contender
Rewatch the first episode, then have sex
Reminder that the winner of the game of thrones™ was absent for an entire season.
I haven't seen S8 of Dexter but before that it never got as bad as GoT. And at least Dexter is funny.
It was kinda obvious 'Break the wheel' and the last stark guy not ruling winterfell.
Also it got leaked here at like ep2 with spoilers for the other episodes to confirm.
I can handle having a retarded asspull become the king but having the white walkers not be a big deal whatsoever was awful. They never even made it that far and only did at all because they were dumb enough to give them a dragon in gift wrap. Cersei was right to not give a fuck.
I'm pissed that D&D would let the fans down by hurrying the end of the series for their own financial gain. They brought the world (and HBO) this billion dollar franchise and they'll do it again (for HBO) for a million bucks an episode. The ended the series early and sloppily just so they could get on with their next contract negotiation.
GRRM will die soon. Make your own happy ending.
It blows my mind that it took them two months just to film a cliche bullshit battle in the dark. I can’t think of a series that went on a bigger nosedive than GoT. Absolutely massive missed opportunity.
I guess they had an exclusive contract with HBO and couldn't leave until the show ended. Otherwise they could've delegated someone else to finish GoT for them while they worked on other projects. I wonder if they could've sold the contract to someone but I have no idea how show business works.
Motherfucker, Dexter S2 was near perfect. I'll admit S3 was a low point, but it rebounded spectacularly in S4. After that it really went to shit.
true, 2 was pretty good but people only like 4 because john lithgow completely carried it
you want de bad poosy
we all do
It’s honestly pathetic how assmad I still am over a tv show, months after the ending, but here I am.
I was promised the ultimate anti-fairy tale but got more cheese than a fucking Disney movie. Unbelievable.
This is true.
We all wanted stan the man to win user, but we cant expect what "we" want to happen.
I didn't necessarily want him to win because he was actually the rightful king but it would've been nice to see him in the final showdown and come incredibly close.
I didn’t necessarily think Stannis would win but I really thought we’d get an ending more interesting and thought-provoking than “good guys win, oh and Danys been a nazi the whole time”. Shame on me for buying into a fantasy series so heavily.
Any fan theory would have been better than what we got.
Has there ever been a show like Got where the appeal relies on a cult like denial of the lack of actual content and quality and reading into things and making fan theories like a choose your own adventure book? That's been the whole show for 4 seasons, shit just happens on screen to service the nonsensical plot
>previous episodes has an overly long segment of Dany burning Kings Landing to the ground
>we see her kill 1000s of innocents with dragon fire
>Arya:"I know a killer when i see one"
I thought people would have learned this lesson after season 5. The death of the show was very clearly with the death of Stannis.
>more interesting and thought-provoking than “good guys win"
the very least they could've done if they really wanted to get rid of stannis was have him refuse to sacrifice his daughter and then freeze to death at some point
I'm glad I binged all this like a month before the final season aired. I can't imagine being emotionally invested in this over the course of ~10 years just for them to shit all over everything.
Agreed 100%. I was holding out hope the writers had some big tricks up their sleeve for the last season (how could they not) and were just racing towards that. Again, shame on me.
I think most people that watched the show did, but the viewers who knew that the books' story could not be matched by some random fucking people realised that this isn't a story that could be winged.
so martin was the villain all along
Imagine my face after dutifully watching since season 2 and reading (and re-reading) all the books. Watching Arya kill the NK was genuinely more painful than watching my team lose the super bowl.
Effectively, because he is a fat fuck who couldn't be bothered to finish a book for years. But to be honest I don't blame him that much, he probably told the writers what direction he was going in at least. I feel like he tried to help to a little extent but not really.
>Watching Arya kill the NK was genuinely more painful than watching my team lose the super bowl.
We were in denial. We saw the spoilers and thought, "Surely, that can't be it." How wrong we were.
Season 5 and 6 were shit but when this shit happened is when it completely lost me
It's a moment that would make one happy for a few seconds, but then it dawns on them that this shit doesn't make any sense. Lack of fAegon destroyed this show.
Don’t forget the outpouring enthusiasm after that - yassssss queen slay #notToday! This is why studios pump out retarded capeshit after retarded capeshit. Drives me up a fucking wall
>It’s honestly pathetic how assmad I still am over a tv show
I feel you, m8. I expected nothing and was still disappointed.
>tfw there are bookfags out there who waited 20 years to see how this story ended
season 7 was already bad enough i had no much hope of season 8 somehow redeeming itself. they did sink lower than expected though
>Don’t forget the outpouring enthusiasm after that - yassssss queen slay #notToday!
They defended that garbage-ass episode, then they realized that Dany was being railroaded into the Mad Queen, so they attacked the writing of the next episode.
the only defense i've seen of that kill is "she's a strong woman, so that's OK"
jfc
Breaking Bad.
No, because I saw this show slowly go to shit over S2 to S4 and stay shit through to S8. Why would a shit ending surprise you?
>”she literally trained to be an assassin for two seasons, what more do you want?”
That immediate 180 of public opinion after the very next episode was the only redeeming quality of my s8 experience.
>She fought in the dark with a stick. That gives her teleportation powers.
it's honestly disheartening how a change of a main character was the reason people changed general opinion of the show.
This is a stupid opinion. Seasons 5 and 6 had their missteps, but they don’t compare to the absolute shitfest that HBO served up with the last few episodes
If I tell you what happens it won’t happen
I thought it was obvious he was making a joke, but apparently nobody else thinks so
The main characters were the same. The only difference was that Jon was turned into a faggot so the Mad Queen Dany ending could happen. Tyrion and Varys were also morons. And Sansa. And Arya. And everybody, really.
No it was as retarded as i expected and i stopped caring sometime around season 5 or 6
I'd say that seasons 5 and 6 had their moments, rather than saying they were good. But season 7 was unironically worse than season 8.
No, they 100% could have left and handed the show off to someone else but their egos got in the way.
Cleganebowl was the cringiest shit ever aired on television
>the main characters were the same
>Also everyone was an idiot
What do you mean?
At that point I was so angry I was just rooting for everyone else to hop on the hate train. But I mean by the end they turned dany into literally hitler at Nuremberg - like wtf how dumb do the writers think the audience is that we can’t appreciate morally great characters?
S5 had Hardhome, and S6 had Battle of the Bastards, quite possibly two of the best episodes of the series, but the overall writing wasn't nearly as good as the previous seasons.
They completely removed his personality so it's genuinely hard to tell
Morally grey* lol
To liked the field of fire and some Jon dany stuff better than anything in season 8, even though the plot was shit and season 8 made that whole season pointless
What do you mean? Where was the change in main characters? It was Jon, Dany and Tyrion.
All the starks, save for bran, should have died in the final season. The plot armor was palpable and ridiculous.
Brans my favorite character but only book version. Book version is kino. I don't care bout tv show for like 4 seasons now
Yup and yup
>was supposed to become nobody but stashed needle
>fucked over the faceless people and fled
>suffered no consequences over it except for one person stabbing her which she immediately receives treatment for
I was hoping those two faceless men characters were actually a group of people sharing the same couple of disguises.
You had it right the first time. Lannishits and Lannishit sympathizers aren't people.
I mean I don't know what you're trying to refute, great action sequences does not equal a good series. They even fucked that up with *the long night.*
Funny how she didn't say that 5 episodes prior to this so everyone knew BEFORE she murdered everyone
Why did they turn Bran into siri? I feel like the show runners have completely misunderstood what the character is supposed to be. There’s no way GRRM intended for Bran to become such an intolerable weirdo. At the very least they could’ve played up how potentially sinister he’s become.
>supposed to be some creepy mysterious entity
>is a geezer that gets killed
It wasn’t a nosedive. It’s been getting worse season on season.
Only when the show was simplified into oblivion
what really frustrates me is he declined lordship of Winterfell because he was a fucking tree wizard, not a ruler.
Then his faggot sister declares Northern independence, like the lord of Winterfell isn't the ruler of the 7 fucking kingdoms.
the joke was on us. It took 8 years to set it up and he delivered the punchline.
yea I just dropped everything GoT related after viewing the final episode. I won't be watching blood moon either.
agreed. he can't change the past but he can change the future.
Season 8 ruined everything.
>Jonerys
Ruined.
>Jaime leaving Cersei.
Ruined.
>The Night King
Ruined.
>The Golden Company
Ruined.
>Euron
Ruined even more.
Any interesting thing about season 7 was ruined.
>he can't change the past but he can change the future
He gave Hodor the glitchies. I thought he was possibly going to have a part in the Mad King going insane as well.
Season 7 wasn't even interesting aside from them trying to tie storylines together. Which was very artificial.
The writing of Arya was the biggest character nosedive after surpassing the books. They had no idea whatsoever how to write her.
Arya, Sansa and Bran were written terribly. Arya was turned into a YAAS QWEEN, Sansa was "smart" despite doing stupid shit, and Bran was "creepy". The Starks are all terrible.
Sansa wasn’t that interesting to begin with so it wasn’t as big of a failure imo. Bran is in contention for worst written, I forgot about him. Honestly every character by the end was written so hamfisted but Arya had stood out to me as just heinously done since s4/5
Arya was good as The Hound's sidekick. She was terrible afterwards.
This lol
Does anyone think it wouldn't be as bad if he wasn't so fucking ugly
I kind of like that he became more ugly as he became more of a weirdo.
Ending to the mountain and the hound was the only good part of the whole thing
>That smug face after he didn't do anything but be bait and orchestrate a massacre so he could be king
This shits actually a comedy
No way, BB season 4, 5a, and 5b are all fantastic. That show headed sky high.
There is no comparison. Breaking Bad had spectacular ending.
Kinda got old after a bit but she was far better there than anything afterwards. The house of black and White has my vote for most soulless and least imaginative adaptation of anything in the books
not so sure about 5a
this
they killed Doakes, man. The show is officially over at that point.
Why did they had to do my boy Jon like that in s8? He didnt had one sword fight in the whole season, got cucked into oblivion and lost his new pet and killed his waifu because a imp on the deathblock from a family that brought disgrace to both of his families ordered him to
>First flash-forward of Walt
>Destroying Fring's laptop using a magnet
>Peter Schuler's suicide
>Cooking again
>Skyler's suicide attempt
>Train heist and Todd's psychopathy
>Mike's death
>The prison hits
>Hank discovers Heisenberg
Rewatch 5a. It's fucking awesome.
It's like D&D, at the last second, realized that they had to hit GRRM's ending, regardless of whether it made sense or not. Jon was turned into a massive cuck.
They've shitted on Jon's character for awhile, in s5 he's an idiot who trusts Thorne and olly giving him dagger eyes all the time, season 6 being an undead is barely even touched on or effects him at all, season 7 he brings up the mad king killing his relatives he never knew but apparently forgot about the red wedding and wants to have a truce with the lannisters and buddy up to Tyrion cause he was nice to him awhile ago. At least he could actually talk in those seasons though
The last conflict of the series is contingent on Jon not being able to talk. What kind of hack writing is this?
this, not even cleganebowl could make me care
>Jorah gets greyscsle
>Goes and gets an asspull cure
>Returns to Dany and dies
What was the point of that plotline exactly
Jorah just had to get the JonCon storyline for some reason.
Cleganebowl was worthless. The only good thing about it was Qyburn's brutal death.
Okay but WHAT'S HIS TAX POLICY?
the three eyed raven shit was stupid from the moment it began.
my guess is that the writers wanted to kill him off but then had doubts about it afterwards. really fucking stupid how they handled it no matter the explanation.
The writers actually wanted him to go to the Wall with Jon. No, I am not trolling.
This is so accurate, I read all the leaks and literally thought "Surely, that can't be it." Before every retarded blunder. I really wanted to believe it couldn't be true.
Even with the last episode, I thought there had to be more. I thought that the leaks couldn't fill an 80 minute episode.
It all turned out to be filler.
I was never even angry about it, just disappointed. About half of the season is good (I thoroughly enjoyed episodes 2 and 5, 3 is dumb but entertaining, and the first half of the finale set up an interesting situation but they blue balled it) so I can't write it off completely. I always wanted to see the Mad Queen arc so I'm glad they did it, they just failed to make it satisfying.
Most everyone else in my circle feels the same way - just a blasé attitude towards it. Dexter's final season was a true implosion, this was just a thud. It truly is crazy though how a show like this, with all of the money, talent, and creative freedom (reminder: HBO were actually the good guys wanting the writers to take their time) behind it failed to land.
Bookfag here. I'm just happy I pulled out after season 1.
Enjoy your non-ending.
>be me in college
>roommates are OBSESSED over How I Met Your Mother
>finale comes out, they're mad as fuck
>"I should've listened to you user, this show was fucking terrible"
GoT was worse though, by a fucking mile.
I'm still mad about the cuckery with stannis. That villainous music when he comes charging in to save everyone. The shots of people scared, hearing noises, huddling together as they await his cavalry, before being run over by baratheon soldiers. He should have been a hero.
it's what people want, you sperg
my fellow Stannermen, we persist in the doomed world created by D&D
Bump and fuck the Jannies.
the exact moment it went completely out the window for me
Sure it dropped off significantly in earlier seasons, but they ended the most important part in the dumbest way possible. I was actually still on board until Ayra kills the nightking in a way that is PHYSICALLY FUCKING RETARDED AND IMPOSSIBLE and also no one dies
I saw the Dothraki without dragonglass weapons and then tapped out.
kind of crazy how quickly normalfags dropped it. people wouldn't shut up about it at work and now i have heard next to nothing after the finale.
I'm fine with all the major plot points of the final 3 episodes (except for what they did the Jaime). Dany going nuts, Jon killing her, king Bran etc. It was just paced really poorly, as well has been full of other badly written/filmed shit like Greyworm teleporting to Dany's side, or Dany having thousands of unsullied and Dothraki soldiers still alive at the end.
I forgot it even existed until I saw this thread here, I stopped caring about a week after the finale too, as I'd already given up all hope after they killed Barristan in season 5 in the most absurd way possible.
Then again, I did get angry when I read about all the nominations it received, shows how little credibility the emmys have. Awards aren't means to be given for a series as a whole, and GoT doesn't even deserve that kind of award recognition anyways, and neither do the actors for this season. Not enough screentime to justify it, and the actors that were nominated were mediocre.
I'll never understand people that shit on BB. It ended well, it had a stellar final season, and was a very decent conclusion to the series. It did not leave a sour taste in my mouth at all.
I think it's because it became incredibly popular after season 4, and thus the contrarianism took root, especially on Yea Forums where if something is popular, it must therefore be bad.
How? Season 1 was the worst season.
Even Ben Shapiro defended this.
>"Dude, Cersei is a strong, independent woman who does not need no man to competently rule seven kingdoms lmao."
And the worst part, people in theater were cheering when she blew up the sept.
>Arya of all people kills the Night King
>Not even in a cool duel, but in an underhanded, over in 5 seconds way
>Cliche Hollywood the boss dies and his entire army dies with him
>No explanation for his motivations or goals
>No explanation for how R'hllor is related to all this or what R'hllor even is
>The Others built up from the beginning of the show as the major threat only for them to never make it further than Winterfall and barely do any damage to Westeros
>No one important dies, only a handful of minor characters
>Daenery's army is decimated, but it doesn't matter because they respawn so they can help her take King's Landing
>No explanation for why the seasons are so fucked up in Westeros
>Winter is entirely forgotten after the Night King falls, despite the fact that it's going to last years, is meant to be a particularly bad one, and no one's made any preparations for it because everyone's been too busy fighting each other
It's such a clusterfuck and it's a shame it's been completely overshadowed by people complaining about the King's Landing stuff when it's so much worse
>>finale comes out, they're mad as fuck
>>"I should've listened to you user, this show was fucking terrible"
I'm curious, what was so bad about it?
Not him, but a lot of people got pissed that it was revealed the Mother had died of aidscancer years previously to when the dad was telling the story, and then he goes and hooks back up with his first season gf/main character Robin.
Personally I thought the ending was fine, because who gives a shit about the Mother? She was introduced in the last half of the final season, was only in it for a handful of episodes, and only had about 5 minutes interaction with the dad.
>status quo in Westeros is feudalism that results in devastating wars
>status quo in slavers bay is chattel slavery
>Magic returned after hundreds of years, others returning after thousands of years
>Two main threats to westeros being ignored, fire in the east and ice in the north
>Jon and Dany are the point
It's not how they got there it's the ending
No. It went to total shit in S4. Cracks formed in S2, minor omissions like spoken lines and appearance in KL for Jeyne ended up have larger consequences later in the series, at the time I thought it was cut for time constraints, because she was at least present with an actor. Spilling the Tysha story so early and to both Bron and whore should have been a flag as well, also making her some foreigner instead of complete total war following whore.
I'd completely lost faith when Tysha wasn't the reason why Tyrion lost it.
Just let it go man
Nazi's were just terrible antagonists. Didn't feel the stakes, but Walt just /had/ to die because they needed some form of comeuppance for him, instead of just dying alone slowly from cancer.
Nazis were a brute Force that Walt couldn't manipulate or negotiate with, they don't give a fuck about anyone but their own, they'll go to jail, they don't give a shit they're soldiers to their cause. They're perfect since their simplicity doesn't overshadow it better showcases Walt's villainy in the end which is the point, and they expose how pathetic Walt's power really was
I just don't understand how people liked it. She doesn't have super powers, her only magic is shapeshifting (into other humans). There's no super strength, dexterity etc. She just can't fucking perform the feats they want her to. All those fucking armour inconsistencies, and the NK going from having super strength (throwing a fucking spear hundreds of meters in the air with force to penetrate dragon hide, something that traditionally shrugged off ballista unless it was through the eye, then impales theon through two layers of plate) to not being able to crush a fucking childs neck, or even toss her away, he has the reaction speed to see what trick she's pulling.
But that was good, fuck the sparrows, fuck the tyrells, fuck the lamest lanisters and fuck the king.
Hardhome was okay, bastards was complete dogshit, some nice cinematics, fucking stupidity in the writing department.
Why didn't Jon die the moment Mel did? She rezzed him.
It’s hard to evaluate 7 because at the time we all rationalized that they were pruning the story to prepare for a good ending. I’d have to rewatch it, which I won’t do. Fuck this show
It was cool she blew up the Sept imo and got revenge for what they did, but she should've either been killed or had to flee no way she becomes queen after that, that was so retarded
>blew up the sept
Granted Kings Landing had huge amounts of wildfire....so they could have still enough left to blow up the sept. However, during the battle of blackwater bay, it was strongly implied that Tyrion used most if not ALL of the wildfire they had.
So, Im not sure they enough left to make that ultra-huge sept explosion
Bloodmoon is a different creative team so I will check it out (if only for Janey-E)
>blow up sept
>smile all the way to Casterly Rock
But that would have made sense...cant have that.
This is exactly what happened. Going with the Bran ending without any warging or Preston Jacobs dream-implantation shit — D&D should literally be arrested for this
But the sparrows, Tyrells and even lamest of Lannister were better than "I'm a woman hear my roar" Cersei.
I didn’t love the Sept explosion at the time but compared to S8 it deserves a peabody
Arya killing the night king did it for me. But after Rhaegal was shot down I just came full circle and started enjoying the train wreck of season 8. I'm in a weird state where I still care, but I'm not feeling the same incredible rage like am with other train wreck series (Star Wars, Warhammer Fantasy, Mass Effect).
season 8 killed the show for me. Almost like it was intentional, i just dont give a shit anymore after and dont miss it
all thats left are a few fond memories from seasons 1-3
It was the most insultingly disappointing ending to any work of fiction in any medium. It's almost like they tried to make it as terrible as humanly possible. It's one of the very few shows I've ever been invested in, and I will never waste my time with another television series again because of it. It's a dogshit medium now and the new standard is to pander to the social and political trends of the day.
They had the biggest audience of all time. It's astonishing how large and diverse their fan base was, from neckbeards to chads, everyfuckingbody was watching GoT. The prequels and sequels and merchandise and the inevitable motion pictures... all of that vanished during the final episode. A billion fucking people collectively lost interest in the entire GoT universe but the end of the finale. It's a level of disappointment I don't think we'll ever see again.
Oh yeah, Game of Thrones. I remember that it used to be a thing.
It just doesn't make as much sense in the TV show, since all the children are implied dead. Which again makes no sense if the children were playing this insane long game:
>oops weapon No.1 is a threat to the creators
>team up with enemy out of necessity
>enemy puts up a fucking massive wall that cockblocks children magic
>slowly spend the next 8000 years loosing even more territory in the south, few if any children remain below the wall
>start up plan No 2, infiltrate the humans, thus an incredibly slow game starts (who knows when 3ER line starts) and over centuries a few influential people with the right powers (a little bit of first men + child) are used to manipulate events in the humans kindgom
>your plan for revenge after some 10000+ years is almost ready, you've got a meal ticket to the fucking throne because time hijinx
>suicide to save this meal ticket and never see it to fruition or any actual result in favour of your original agenda (getting rid of the hooomans)
>meal ticket is now some wheeling conglomeration of tens of thousands of souls/memories that just plods along, without any personality or drive of it's own
They fucked it so hard. Bran could have been that sinister icing on the cake, that the children won and were about to attempt some crazy shit on the level of breaking the arm.
Why are you pissed, your waifu Cersi died or something? Starks are the shit i'm glad they won.
Also that annoying bitch dalerys had it coming, she's too old for Jon anyways and incest is icky.
>White walkers are an 8 year red herring
>Let's make a prequel about them
Jorah should have killed the night king but died doing it. The night king touching Arya should have burned her. Touching Jorah, he is scarred and calloused over there so he doesn't flinch.
And even that felt forced
Is HTTYD white nationalist?
Bran is insanely handsome.
True Detective after the pilot.
>mfw I stopped S8 after ep3 and instead finished Babylon S4
Or how about Jon kills him, since they have been on a collision course pretty much whole series, including more than one long distance stare down.
Jon screaming at an undead dragon would have been a great time to reveal he is a Targaryaen, by showing he is also immune to fire.
>muh battle scenes
Fuck off faggot
I like how the hound says to Arya "don't end up like me girl" and she's all like hmm thanks father figure you have a point
...after she has already methodically cut the throats of a dozen or so Freys, singlehandedly dissected their corpses, cut their meat into chunks and baked them into pies
that is Jeffry Dahmer level shit that the hound hasn't even got close to
No, they were right to not make Jon's battle an actual battle. They almost got Jon Snow right. Jon was born a bastard looking to prove himself and he wanted to do so at the wall and found a threat and wanted to over come it. He wanted to be a great fighter and sure kill the knight king. Jon's actual journey is when to bend honor. Jon's whole life is owed to his Uncle lying and saying Jon was his bastard son. Or Robert or someone else would have had Jon killed. Jon was too loyal, blindly loyal and his real battle was tackling this. Taking the night king fight away from jon is perfect, cause otherwise he may have felt satisfied in that, what would he have had to prove then?
Im not saying they did a good job with it, but having Jons final battle be loyalty versus his own sense of good was a much more compelling battle and served to be a good conflict for him as a character and as an arc. The fact he ends up in jail means they threw away this entire character arc right after it happened because he must have told the unsullied why he needed to be arrested.
um sweetie, Jon and Daenerys are together, so Jon will never be with you
>sweetie
Kill yourself queer scum
Not only that but they had no idea Meli was showing up so they were effectively sending the Dothraki out into total darkness with weapons that had no effect
Also a group of people to scared to ride a boat, would probably have been pretty freaked out when all their swords burst into flame, at the same time.
Say it with my lads
EMMY AWARD WINNERS EMILIA CLARKE (Carkel), ALFIE ALLEN AND GWENDOLINE CHRISTIE
>I know a killer when I see one
That was legit the dumbest line of all time. Like no shit, she murdered the entire city, thanks for the tip Arya.
yes but the nosedive began in season 4
>
EMMY AWARD WINNERS EMILIA CLARKE, ALFIE ALLEN AND GWENDOLINE CHRISTIE
Best of luck with your emmy awards and your stealth /ecg/ threads my lads.
Regards: the one (1) sansafag
Thanks
>But season 7 was unironically worse than season 8.
You are fucking retarded. There is borderline nothing to like about season 8. It has bad action an assassinates all characters.
>NO, LET ME GET TO KING'S LANDING FIRST!
>Quitting after season 1 when it was clear what the show actually was
>Dany brings change to Essos and slavery is stopped (in the show)
>Dany fails to bring her envisioned change to Westeros and it's now more corrupt, more destructive and sensitive then ever
I hope Bran likes lots and lots of war, rape, famine, uprisings, assassination and murder cause that's what you get with an elective monarchy and a Crown with no money or army. Lol at the show even acknowledging that the crown needs Bronn to finance anything, why wouldn't Bronn just fuck off and declare himself king of his own lands then? he now knows the crown needs him and not the other way around, he didn't even vote for Bran.
Tyrion used wildfire Cersei was already having alchemists make for her. For the Sept explosion, Cersei magically now knew rumors of a wildfire cache under the Sept that she had Qyburn and his little birds look into, found it and just set it off when she wanted to.
What was the point of the little birds under Qyburn anyway, they didn't do anything that couldn't be avoided or done by someone else. Pycelle was already gonna go to the Sept and get blown up, no need to have little birds kill him, Lancel would've never found the cache without the kid leading him to it.
>I don't want to be king
>>Why do you think I came all this way?
Both in the same episode.
I can see it making sense in the way that he doesn't want it, but his visions say he's supposed to be a certain place and go so he's just doing it to make the vision real. This also makes him a bad ruler because it means as horrific as any future visions he sees are, he'll go along with them as if the future is written in ink.
Him saying he can never be lord of anything and later becoming king which makes him Lord of the Six Kingdoms is the real problem, heck they even acknowledge him as lord when he leaves the room
>All hail Bran the Broken, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Six Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.
it has the worst ending but it wasn't as popular as GoT
I don't know what George means by this surveillance state ending he wants. Why not just make Jon king (bastard Targ or not)? He and Dany at least were learning how to rule.
Expectations subverted.
I believe the books will have one of them ruling for some time
jon killing dany won't happen overnight, unless it's a lightbringer situation which I highly doubt
>ruling for some time
We only have two books left and these people haven't met yet and Dany is still in the Dothraki Sea. George has no time to do all this shit and Bran is king in the end is shit no matter what.
Cripple
Underage
No one knows him

Fat Fuck should just end it with Jon and Daenerys ruling together and balancing each other out. Then write Fire and Blood Parts 2 and 3 and 3 serves as an epilogue where we get their rule and maybe their kids and stuff about the North and the other kingdoms.
>Fat Fuck should just end it with Jon and Daenerys ruling together and balancing each other out.
But that would be a satisfying conclusion. GRRM has to deconstruct The Lord of The Rings somehow.
he could simply kill them in an accident, terrible but it would fit in his nihilistic mind
>I DONT WANT ANYTHING ANYMORE
>OK MAKE ME KING LOL
>She's the smartest person I've ever met
I still can't get over that line, legitimately can't get over it, I don't understand where it comes from
Few episodes beforehand she wanted to kill her, until bran revealed littlefinger did some bad things before
They needed Sansa to be smart to fulfill her character arc. Too bad the only intelligent things she did were scolding an armorer for not putting leather on armor and scolding Tyrion for trusting Cersei.
Sure you do.
>there was supposed to be a big GoT reunion at comic-con
>all the actors and staff together one last time
>Dany, Jon, Tyrion and D&D all pull out last minute
The actors I can understand, but FUCK D&D for pussying out of this. They knew they would get torn apart by the fans.
Jorah and Missandei pulled out too
Does he really NEED to rip off the ending though? And deconstruction where you handle it even worse is just being petty. Bran has no qualifications to display at large that would convince anyone he should be king or could be a good king. Even displaying his powers would just freak everyone out and have peasants whisper among themselves about him being a demon and have the Faith and (((Maesters))) conspire to kill him
kit and emilia never planned to appear, probably to painful for them
Emilia. Peter and Kit were never slated to be there in the first place though. Just some secondary characters, Miguel, and Maisie. You're right about D&D being cowards
Reminder that GRRM has already planned his ending
>Stannis beats the boltons
>Jon comes back after shireen is sacrificed due to the pink letter and Selyse and Melisandre shenanigans
>f'Aegon takes KL and kills cersei and becomes a "loved" king
>Dany leaves essos, sails to westeros, discovers f'Aegon
>Dany gets angry, burns him and KL down - maybe the whole city, maybe only the red keep, doesn't matter
>Stannis is devestated by the death of shireen, executes Selyse,
>Can't stand having Jon near him, sends him to deal with dany
>Prof. Drogon smells Jon, tells dany he's a targaryen, she fucks Jon cause george won't pass on his incest fetish
>Stannis as AA and Bran as the Prince the was promised fight the others and euron, they find some deus ex magic way to beat them
>Dany realizes she just wants to shag, convinces Jon to go back to essos, he agrees
>Stannis is king and Bran secretly controls him using his freaky mind control
>The End
The only way for the King Bran ending to make sense is by making him Evil Professor X, but that would qualify as a downer ending.
Jon and Dany should get Dragonstone, their rightful home.
I want stannis to live
Do we know anything about the spin off shows?
>Jon and Dany should get Dragonstone, their rightful home.
I kinda like how it just petered out. Sometimes when a show ends I get sad, but with this it's just done and I can move past it.
Even evil Professor X is bullshit. Children and Greenseers got utterly BTFO by Man to the point they had to make the Others/Walkers, and got BTFO some more after even when they integrated with man and helped people like the Warg and Marsh Kings. And at that point the Children numbered in the thousands and the greenseers in the dozens if not hundreds. Yet now Bran, one greenseer, is able to subtly mind control people or take their minds over completely with no one being aware to the point of controlling everyone?
Get rid of the Bran mind control and this is BASED
Watch it, Chrissy. Dany giving up the throne to Stannis is already a stretch.
>Nephew's dick is mine by rights. All those who deny that are my foes
>I never asked for this, no more than I asked to be queen. Yet dare I disregard him? We do not choose our destinies. Yet we must ... we must do our duty, no? Great or small, we must do our duty.
GRRM gave some minor details about Bloodmoon in an interview recently, but nothing major
>Starks are in the show
>Casterlys probably appear
>creatures like direwolves and mammoths appear
>Westeros is divided into 100 different kingdoms
>Dragonstone is totally empty
I wonder if Targaryens have a sixth sense when it comes to incest. I know that there a cases of strangers fucking in real life, only to find out later that they are related.
>northern independence is the endgame
>Let's have the north not lift a finger to help the trueborn daughter of Ned and Ned's bastard son, when in the books the north is rallying around a southern king just to kill the boltons
Fuck this story
I think that Northern independence is D&D fanservice, BUT if GRRM actually intends it, he is even more of an actual retard.
If in the books the North becomes independent, there's no way that Dorne or the Iron Islands stay under the rule of the Iron Throne. I think he'll probably just have the seven kingdoms split up in the end
If that happens, what's the point of King Bran? GRRM's ending is nonsense.
i dont know why anyone with half a brain expected this show to end well. the show was total shit since s5e1 and you thought they were going to suddenly turn it all around lol
stopped watching when Tywin died
No, I had very low expectations going into season 8 considering the quality of the last few. Can't bring myself to be mad, I'm just disappointed with the way it all turned out
Book Stannis would never sacrifice her daugher and only heir.
Same reason Mad Queen Dany was handled so badly: they glanced down at their notes one day, realized Sansa was way off track from where she was supposed to be, and thought they could patch it up just by telling the audience directly.
Melisandre or Selyse burns shireen, not Stannis
Bran would never be elected King. There is a reason GRRM is taking so long to release the next book.
That could happen, Selyse is a dumb bitch.
There's absolutely no chance he finishes the books before dying.
Our only hope is that he has already written the books and is waiting some time before publishing them due to some contract he made with HBO.
He denied this, but of course he would deny it if that were to be true.
I just can’t believe how much time I spent thinking about the plots and how cool everything might tie together in the end. Not so much losses as I am shocked how much the ending ripped the thought of the show from my mind when it was a constant topic I could spend hours discussing and thinking about. I’ve barely thought much about game of thrones since it ended where as before hand I thought about it daily.
If The Winds of Winter ever comes out, Stannis is dying. He does not fit in George's ending.
I don't really expect Stannis to get the Iron Throne or even reach endgame.
what is the three eyed raven supposed to be? I hate that the stupid side shows with Bran and Arya turned out to be important to the story
>Never watching the show in the first place because it looked like a retarded LARP session from the very beginning
Feels really good
Bran was obviosly going to be important, Arya not really.
In the books, Weirwood trees have memories and they're all connected to each other.
That shit Bran does in the series, is suppossed to work by warging into them and accessing their memories, which means you should only see memories of the places these trees are located.
3-eyed raven is some ancient warg that fused himself to that weirwood tree beyond the wall.
Or at least that's what I remember, I read the books 5 years ago.
>Bran has no heirs and is most likely not able to have any
>Bran dies
>civil war happens again to take the throne
>greyscale is highly contagious and incurable
>actually you can just cut it off
wouldn't that be the first thing you'd try?
I still think about GOT every day.
>he has that disgusting picture on his hard drive
Forgot about that shit show tbqh.
>implying the Iron Throne will even last long enough for a post-Bran civil war what with the looming Dorne Rebellion, Iron Islands Rebellion, Highgarden Usurpation, Baratheon Revitalization, and Wildling/Targ invasion from the north
so basically it's a dune ripoff
Imagine being this butt hurt months later
>has there ever been a bigger nose
no
Because people had hope that George's ending would be good and that all the rushing and cut content was trying to set it up and get there.
>implying there will be a Baratheon Revitalization
Gendry will never be recognized by the Stormland Lords, he'll get lost in the Stormlands and be killed by bandits for the fancy clothes he's wearing or by the first lord he tries to have bend the knee to him because a Mad Queen none of them ever met said Gendry is their Lord
Imagine allowing this to die so you can rule instead.
why didn't they protect that smile
Based
Literally ALL fantasy shows are shit, why is this a surprise?
Because a Lannister imp on the deathblock because he comitted literally treason demanded Jon to kill her
>how can he stab me? i saved him!
>Gendry will never be recognized by the Stormland Lords
I don’t see why not, his total inexperience makes him a good puppet for them.
It was necessary
Because he has no proof and no one has to recognize anything Dany ever said or anything Bran says. Stormlands have effectively been ruling themselves since Stannis left, whoever is there now is gonna keep that power.
Gendry has never been there and knows nothing. Might as well literally grab a monkey and say this is you're new Lord now.
I stopped caring like 5 minutes after the episode ended
read the books
they watered down every character in the show for the sake of making them more likable
I miss her so much bros
Bad b8
she does too...
I only know she was the one thing I ever wanted. Someone took her away from me, and seven kingdoms couldn't fill the hole she left behind.
>whoever is there now is gonna keep that power.
I don’t think you understand what puppet means. They’re not going to lose power by supporting his claim, marrying their daughter to the obvious Robert-lookalike, and making Gendry put his seal on whatever they want.
It’ll upset the existing power balance between the Stormlords, sure, but they’re not going to pass up a chance to own the name everyone in the region is supposed to be sworn to.
And of course if Gendry doesn’t suit them for whatever reason there will be plenty of distant cousins to make their bid with instead. But they’re not just going to ditch the Baratheon name when there are still claimants out there.
What a fucking cutie
I couldn't care less about this show. Why the fuck are you so fucking butthurt? This show imploding is genuinely a better outcome than being forced to listen to normies how this is the greatest show of all time. Go fuck yourselves.
The best thing that came out of this show was the deepfake porn video of Emilia Clarke.
Sopranos. Mad Men. Rome S01. The rest can go fuck themselves.
Tsundere Dany was perfect. She and Jon could have conquered the world.
Something wrong with your threads boy?
At least the trollocs didn't look too fake
THEN GET MORE
How is it even possible for someone’s mouth to open that wide? It looks like I could fit my whole fucking leg in there.
Post the final good bye one
I found it incredulous that everybody in the series falls madly in love with her. I guess she's hot for game of thrones standards.
Camera lens magic? Photoshop? I’m not going to look at that freakish face long enough to figure it out.
Post a picture of yourself.
nope it's just a random tv show like any other
being upset about a show or movie for more than 5 minutes after its over means you are mentally challenged
>for game of thrones standards
Who would you cast as Jon Con?
>convicted kingslayer, admitted kinslayer, and supporter of the Dragon Queen who just destroyed the capital suggests making the autistic tree wizard king
>everyone immediately agrees to this without question and they even make him hand of the king
HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
>marrying their daughter
That assumes whoever is top dog has a daughter to marry to him or is willing to let another smaller house marry to him and do as that small House says through Gendry and that the rest will be in line with this.
>Gendry put his seal on whatever they want.
Which also assumes Gendry will never try to do shit himself
>they’re not going to pass up a chance to own the name everyone in the region is supposed to be sworn to.
They're "sworn" to a dead House. Gendry isn't legitimized. Dany never at any point held power in the Stormlands, they'd have to recognize her as their Queen first, which they never did. You can't be a bastard in one kingdom, get "legitimized" by a separate kingdom and think that's legit in a third kingdom.
THIS
she literally FAILS being an assassin I still cant wrap my head around how people defended this
with all the daggers she throw at Gendry, you'd expect she'll assassinate the NK from afar
>They're "sworn" to a dead House.
Which is what makes it the prime time to pick your own malleable Baratheon heir and go to town with it. No one gives a shit if he’s been “officially” legitimized or not; they don’t need proof, they just need the right people to agree to treat him like the real deal. Presumably some lords will flock to whoever is actually next in the inheritance list, while others will try for a power grab using Gendry. You could even say KL is already doing this, they treat him like a real Baratheon and he votes for the Starks because they’re all buddy buddy.
Look at the case with Young Griff in the book. Dude might very well be a Blackfyre or complete nobody instead of a Targ but the plan would work exactly the same as long as the right people will swear he is Aegon.
>just destroyed the capital
What you're witnessing is the end of Kings landing essentially oh wait no it's fine
Lost after season 1. You thought they might have had it all planned out, but nope. They were just going to drag it on as long as possible.
This was the first one I watched, I didn’t know any better. Now I do
So I'm thinking George said "Bran will control the seven kingdoms at the end"
And D&D are too fucking stupid to realize that means Bran using his warg powers to control people from afar.
I'm in disbelief but I'm not pissed because it's just a television show
Im sorry buddy but your iq needs to be above 90 to participate in this discussion.
Non-ending blue balls is 100x better than what happened with the show
A master of coins doesnt finance it himself he is more like a minister of finance.
Do we care? No we dont
>everyone theorized that Bran was the night king
>decide to just make him the king
Did they hire Rian Johnson to make this last season?
>Which is what makes it the prime time to pick your own malleable Baratheon heir and go to town with it
It's not, whoever is in charge now would be threatened by the smaller Houses who see it to their advantage to marry their daughters to a retard and pretend he's legitimate even when they never recognized Dany.
Yes they would give a shit. Bastardry and being trueborn are huge things in Westeros and yes they do need proof. Lots of Baratheon and Baratheon branch bastards would be around from generations past if the genes are so strong and there's probably people without those genes that can look like a Baratheon anyway. Gendry doesn't even share the looks, fucking Shireen has brown hair, Stannis looks nothing like Robert and neither does Renly in the books. And if it was so obvious a lot of people would've already pointed it out to Gendry before Jon Arryn ever got to him.
King's Landing has no army and no gold, Bran can't enforce anything and we didn't see him legitimize Gendry either and Bran never had authority in the Stormlands, he has no authority to legitimize Gendry to rule there.
Young Griff has the backing of a rich as fuck cheese merchant, a spymaster extraordinaire and the Golden Company who all unanimously back him, he'll press his claim with force and still the plan was to get Dany to make him look official, he's not just expecting people to believe him.
*in the show
George's ending probably will be good. But they threw out half of the material to get to that ending so now it doesn't make any fucking sense.
lol
>George's ending probably will be good
No it won't. King Bran is objectively shit and nonsensical. It has no backing in history or realism or "muh good ruler" and "human heart in conflict with itself"
A fucking wizard you dipshit.
You're too stupid to read a book
Oh I'm a Stannisfag and that's still obvious to me.
The show just killed him in a retarded way.
D&D are hack writers and Star Wars deserves them
Show should've just ended with the 5th episode. It'd still be garbage but not a total joke.
this
That isn't George's ending.
The show doesn't have George's ending. It has parts of it.
Bran using his magic powers to brainwash people until he's the most powerful man in Westeros is the ending.
Not before he has to deal with Euron's dark wizard shit though
>George's ending
Oxymoron
>Bran using his magic powers to brainwash people until he's the most powerful man in Westeros is the ending.
Objectively shit and nonsensical. Children numbered in the thousands and had hundreds of greenseers and were willing to break a continent apart and create the Others to fight the humans, but weren't capable of just mindfucking people into subservience or worship?
GoT was 100% the biggest disaster, especially since it steadily got better and bigger on a technical level.
>As soon as show ends, book is going to be released! That was the d-deal!
>implying bloodraven hasn't been manipulating literally everything
ok sweaty
Get over it, fatso.
>took thousands of years for one of the greenseers to figure out hey, I could try to manipulate people, oh shit, it works
No
Best thing about the show was the building of hatred it had among the general public which reached to a crescendo during the last episode. Absolutely wonderful.
No
based fellow bran fan
he literally defends retarded beliefs for a living tho
>Jon and Arya meet for the first time in forever
>No personal moment / dialogue
>Immediately quipping about his height
Trash.
