I bet all of these live action remakes are just being made to extend the copyright and serve as a commercial for remastered versions of the originals

Either way lion king will make 1b easy

They didn't even showed real lion expressions of submission, fear or threat just still images pasted in a CGI body.

>making scar look like a regular lion
this is going to be how the departed had wahlberg, damon, and dicaprio

I couldn't tell it was Scar at first glance, how the hell are toddlers supposed to follow? Like fuck you didn't need to combine Lion King and Planet Earth either show me good drawings or real lions.
The argument that it needs to look "better" for adults is irking me because it's just more of the stigma that 2D = bad.
fuck those are some soulful eyes how could animators screw up this badly in the name of "realism".

When some drawings have more life and expression than your poor attempts of recreate those in a uncanny valley...we have this. We still are not on a level where you can create an exact visual copy of the real thing without telling the fakeness of it.

Who did it better?

why did they cgi the rock and vin diesel staring at each other? The rock looks so small lmao

>HURR DURR ME WANT EXPRESSIONING AMINALS
your retarded ass must be over the fucking moon about Cats

Looks like shit, but still looks less worse than this

children would prefer the exaggerated cartoonish expressions anyways. they'd have some leeway to make them look a bit ridiculous instead of mechanical.

no soul allowed

It's not even CGI, they used a camera trick and Vin Diesel is closer to the camera, they did this to make Vin Diesel look as big as the Rock.

They could use a small platform, or platform shoes or literally anything else, but the director was dumb or inexperienced lad.

The Rock and Vin refused to film any scenes together, so they needed to doctor in this scene. As you can see, they didn’t do a particularly good job.

I wasn't sure if the pic was taken out of context and they were standing side by side to be intimidating while also dismissive. I haven't seen the movie though.

Ye, Vin Diesel is closer to 5'9" and a half while the rock is like 6'3" and diesel made a big stink about not doing scenes standing next to him.

nah, it was a 1v1 showdown, they were string at each other

>Realistic lions, but without dicks.
What the fuck were they thinking?

that was inspired by the original hk film, as the chinese all look alike

The original Scar was immediately identifiable by his dark red color palette and I'm willing to bet that they dropped this important design element because it would have been problematic for reasons of political correctness. They tried to add more scars over his body to make up for this loss of distinctive appearance but they are not visible enough.

>political correctness
that's sad, their manes darken with age so they could've just had him be somewhat old

They are, a key reason Lion King was remade was because Disney were about to lose the rights to some of the songs.

>tfw they probably axed all of the old star wars stuff to avoid paying royalties

Why are the lions in this film so fucking dirty? I've seen the nature docs, they don't look this dirty there either. Scar literally looks like a balding faggot.

They can't "lose rights to songs" they just need to bid for the rights and win, and knowing Disney they won't lose.

Nala isn't even sexy in the new one

BASED NALA FUCKER

post the full image

probably makes it cheaper to animate the fur

Once again, audiences prove themselves to be mindless

WHAT WILL IT FUCKING TAKE FOR DISNEY NOT TO SHIT ON THEIR ANIMATION CANON?! WHICH FILM IS TOO TABOO TO REMAKE THAT EVEN NORMALFAGS WILL GET FED UP BY IT?!

The fact they are taking a scene from fucking fantasia, a movie designed from the ground up to be animation set to music, and making it live action frustrates me no end.

Audience score is just spammed up by shills.

What's ironic is that the animals in jungle book remake worked, nobody complained, but favreau out of nowhere went "they look too human". Then they went full retard realism with lion king while keeping the music numbers. God what a stupid asshole.

>I bet all of these live action remakes are just being made to extend the copyright and serve as a commercial for remastered versions of the originals
IP protection is pretty much perpetual now, moreso for the kike mouse. There's no reason to make shit to keep muh trademarks and copyrights safe.
No, the reason is because they're creatively bankrupt and can't just rerererelease more bastardized BDs every few years. But if they remake these 20-30 year old movies, they can produce a whole new line of merch for Disney Store, toys, and of course stupid BD dinosaur media. Then there's shit like adapting fairy tales like Rapunzel and Snow Queen with (((modern sensibilities))) and oh look at that a new title we can trademark until the end of time.
They of course have Pixar to fall back on who lost most of their creative vision when Cars was come up with as a way to fuck over Mattel.

Fuck, audience score was a pretty good indicator before they changed the system due to captain marvel fiasco. At least TV shows still has "honest" scores. I still laugh at the game of thrones scores
