Nothing about this film was mediocre. Kino of the highest order.
It was pretty unique in its presentation. That's why I liked it.
Really big eyes make it easier for autists to empathize with other people. Adds extra clarity to facial expressions.

its one of these movies with no bullshit in it.
>no forced interracial sex
>no political mumbo jumbo shoved into it

bump
The sincerity in Rosa Salazar's performance is disarming.
Don't you guys have a dedicated thread in /trash/ already?
Alita was a cute, wholesome and happy hero, and the movie itself was a fun, action packed and accessible sci-fi story that you could eaisly followed without being familar with the manga, and told a concise, self contained story that still left sequels as a possiblity.
In short, by basically being a good movie without pandering bullshit.
>capture the hearts and minds of so many?
Who?
I haven't met a single person, friend or co-worker who liked this movie. Everyone I've talked to about it shrugged their shoulders and say, "it's okay"
I haven't seen it myself yet, hopefully my low expectations makes me enjoy it at least a little, but where the fuck did you get the idea that this movie was a hit?
>scenes of brutal violence and murder
>"lol no sex tho! sooo wholesome"
