I think his fear might have something to do with the lack of black outlines. It makes it seem unnatural compared to the rest of the animation. It’s somewhat otherworldly, skewing perspective in defiance of 3-dimensional space. Buildings loom in the distance behind it like some ancient henge, their shapes almost resembling humanoid figures bent in prayer to their unspeakable pineapple god. The walkway seems to pull you toward the door, compelled by a question you’re too afraid to ask: Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
