I canceled it after Dear White People and haven't regretted it. I watched Stranger Things on my buddy's account, and whenever there's something I really want to watch, I'll just log in there. If he gets rid of Netflix like I tell him he should, I'll just go without watching those things.

You say that jokingly, but I’m sure there’s plenty of people working at Netflix who have drawn that conclusion and will be working overtime to make sure the shows are more inclusive.

I cancelled my subscription last year when I realised I hadn't watched anything on the service in over a year. I wouldn't mind paying for a subscription service that actually had anything worth watching on it, but the pivot to Netflix only trash really turned me away from the brand.

I've thought about looking into the criterion channel, but honestly I want to get away from the subscription model of media consumption. Even thought about buying a couple blu-rays.

For the shows people care about, isn't it cheaper to just subscribe once a new Stranger Things comes out, then unsubscribe once you're done? That could be within a day, you might even be able to get away with no charge at all. Then just wait a year or two for the next season. Maybe the "all at once" method is bad for business?
