>murder party
7/10
>blue ruin
10/10
>green room
7/10
can this man do no wrong?
Murder party
he can make the same movie over and over again really well
First two eps of True Detective s3 were also really good.
Not a fan of Green Room but I really enjoyed Blue Ruin, it was a well written story of how revenge would actually go in real life
Aren't you forgetting his direct to netflix joint that nobody watched?
>7/10
>good
pick one
Popularity doesn't necessarily mean quality.
Was it actually good? Netflix original content has always been pure shit in my experience.
i pick 7/10
why
Meh I didn't really understand what he was trying to say. The ending was also kind of weird.
It's not very good in my opinion. Blue Ruin and Green Room are better for sure.
>all overhyped meme movies
>in real life
Yeah, sure. In real life you would be successful (despite some missteps) up until the final climatic confrontation and then everyone would die at the exact same time. You would also needlessly prolong the ending so you could die, too. Also in real life you be tricked by one of your enemies just to have an old friend of yours who happens to be an elite sniper pull a Deus Ex Machina on you from the bushes.
Blue Ruin was every bit as formulaic as other movies in this genre. In the end they are all disappointing. Kill List was much, much better in the first half but also turned to shit in the second.
i hated kill list. foreigners shouldn't make movies
tl;dr
Kill List was absolutely beautiful up until they started killing. The family/friend dynamics in the first half was some of the most realistic I've ever seen. The entire party section is gold. But unfortunately the movie stops making sense after that.
Imagine being so stupid that you think a few phrases are too much text, and then going ahead and posting that as if it's gonna reflect poorly on anyone but yourself.
There you go, I've translated it for you:
ME NO LIKEY THE BANG BANG MOVIE NO REALISTIC NO
in real life it would be sloppy, with tons of collateral damage, and you'd either get caught or die in the process
just like Blue Ruin
Oh, so like every revenge movie that ever existed. Is Drive also just like real life since it checks all those boxes?
murder party is better than all those other movies listed
>you'd either get caught or die in the process
>Drive
I watched Blue Ruin because everyone kept telling me how amazing it was but I just found it predictable as fuck.
His gimmick of setting up a situation and then subverting it with failure became extremely boring after a while. Feels like a total one-trick pony.
I don't know how it went over your head, it's a simple movie. Watch it again, but this time like it instead of not.
If you couldn't smell the s.oi on this movie from a mile away then you are not smart enough to post here. Any time you see a movie praised here you have to ask yourself "do the people recommending this seem like redditors". If the answer is yes then YOU DONT WATCH IT
Green Room has shoddy editing, confusing dialogue and the gore was mild at best. What kind of bad guy tries to kill the characters AND cover it up at the same time?
I didn't like it because the main characters were all faggy SJW types. Anyone who devotes their time to music is insufferable imo. Learn a fucking trade and contribute to society.
It's much easier to sympathize with the so called bad guys in this movie imo.
>me me me me me do stuff for me my life is about you making my life easier when i want my ass wiped you need to be there with a hard hat
fuck off, grandma
green room is like a 5/10 and hold the dark is a 3/10
fuck you and fuck kill list and fuck jannies
lol kill urself my man
Imagine blaming netflix for giving a director creative freedom
blue ruin - 3/10
green room - 4/10
sometimes you can't tell, these movies got way too popular
I'm definitely not watching anything else by this guy now
SJW punk band was pretty strange. Awkward pacing at times too when I feel like they could have just kicked the door down and shot them in the green room. Blue ruin was 9/10 tho
You know that the 'nazi punks fuck off' wasn't their original song?
Yes, you drooling retard.
>sloppy with tons of collateral damage
He's literally the collateral damage and he implicates the family.
>get caught or die
He gets caught up in an emotional journey, makes mistakes, is stabbed in the gut and nearly dies.
That is also Taxi Driver, Oldboy, I Saw The Devil, Gladiator, The Crow, Leon, The Count of Monte Cristo, need I go on? Look at that, I guess EVERY SINGLE REVENGE MOVIE is ultra realistic! Wow!
where do I get a cute neonazi gf bros?
He didn't die and he didn't get caught. Almost is a cop-out you faggot. Also, none of these movies are realistic, you are just a retard who listens to other retards
You are ungodly stupid. I am serious. It makes me concerned for you. You are so enormously dumb you seem like you might trip on the sidewalk, hit your head and die. All you did was describe the plot structure of a revenge movie, you moron.
>character goes after revenge > there are mishaps > collateral damage occurs > character is damaged in some way in the end, making the revenge bittersweet
It's like me saying a romantic movie is unique because the characters fall in love, have a fight and then reunite again. That's just the basic plot points of every single one. It doesn't make it realistic, it's a proven convention. It would've been more subversive if he actually got his revenge and got away clean in the end. All you're doing is reselling their shitty marketing to promote the movie by labeling it "super realistic," just like every run of the mill horror that was walkouts and faints.
Put this in your head, and never take it away: you are stupid.
The Alaska movie was really fucking bad
That part in Blue Ruin where he goes casually to hospital basically determined only mediocre score from me. Also, I don't even had smallest thought compare this to based af kino kill list.
what color will be in the title of the next meme movie he makes?
>red tide rider
>brown stain
>pink triangle
>black armed robber
>based
>kino
>being an underage twitter nigger afraid to write 'fuck'
>liking kill list
Filtered you queer sack of shit.
The shootout in Hold The Dark was brilliant (so good in fact that he ripped it off for True Detective). Just a bit of a shame the rest of the film wasn't as good.
imogen the poots
He's working on a tv show for netflix
he only directed the first two episodes of TD
Calm down before you get an aneurism, retard. I just pointed out your retardation when talking about Drive. Point your tl;dr autism projects towards the user you were screeching at before.
>no response at all
Thanks for coming back just to finish humiliating yourself. You may go cry in the shower now.
I can actually hear your faggy breath as you hyperventilate, you seething lunatic.
>neo nazi
>problem haircut
holy cringe
>still no response
Thanks for continuing to humiliate yourself.
>problem haircut
kys retard
Blue Ruin might not be 10/10 for me but it was an incredibly well made film, real dirty. I was too hyped for Green Room and was a bit let down after i finally watched it but it was still very good.
Eh, Small Crimes was good.
True Detective
I still can't wrap my head around how hard Kill List dropped the ball in the second half.
Dead Man's Shoes wasn't half bad when it comes to "real" vengeance films, though the "brother was dead all along" bit was obvious after the second scene he's in.
They should have done the script straight without trying to pull some sick twist ending. The movie was strong enough on its own.
