when I see commercials I get filled with some kind of violent rage that makes me not only not want to buy the product or service but also desire that said product or service fails financially and the lives of all those involved are ruined fro some reason, I think it's because I feel like I'm being manipulated

that said I do still like the ads by Roy Andersson they are very well done

What I hate the most is the commercials that have some inspirational message and then it turns out to be a commercial for fucking deodorant or something. Like really, all that and that's what you're trying to plug? Pisses me off.

>ad has sad music, images of people being emotionally happy, and some kind of 'life is precious' tone
>it's for a bank/government agency

I hate woke ads. But they make me avoid their product so it's their loss.

On a different but equally annoying note, Jack in the Box is going full "fellow kids" with their newest commercials and doing them in the style of reaction videos. They are legitimately some of the most annoying commercials I have ever seen.

A classic

I don't care for ads like this. It's just a tool to remind you of a product with little effort put into it.
I appreciate when they hire directors / writers to make almost a short film out of it.

I remember this. That Alphaville remix sends chills down my spine.

You are on the road towards becoming a communist, desu.

I like this one, by one of my favorite directors:

Apparently it's an homage to Day for Night but I wouldn't know because I've never seen it.

You are being manipulated. The grandfather of modern american commercials was the nephew of Sigmund Freud.

>"There was one basic lesson I learned in the CPI—that efforts comparable to those applied by the CPI to affect the attitudes of the enemy, of neutrals, and people of this country could be applied with equal facility to peacetime pursuits. In other words, what could be done for a nation at war could be done for organizations and people in a nation at peace"

Being the opposite of materialism isn't a being a communist.

If the communist system was able to provide consumer goods on par with the West to it's citizens, they would.

Look at China.

Look at Sweden.

You are confusing terms you use. "Materialism" doesn't mean "blatant consumerism." It's an ontological position denying the existence of any spooky shit like souls, gods, etc.

>If the communist system was able to provide consumer goods
You've been fed propaganda. foreignpolicyblogs.com/2009/11/03/better-red-than-unfed-a-survey-of-post-communism/

>Look at China.
China is doubling its GDP like every 10 years, so I have no idea what you are trying to talk say.

Besides, soviet kino is best kino.

well of course I understand that, maybe I should rephrase and say I feel like someone is literally standing in front of me smiling with one hand in my pocket looking for my wallet and the other with a knife behind his back in case I notice the other one, it makes me feel like someone is directly abusing and taking advantage of me and that makes me feel very vengeful

>it makes me feel like someone is directly abusing and taking advantage of me and that makes me feel very vengeful
Because they are, comrade. Marketing is a whole industry inside capitalism. They fabricate fake desires, that's all they do. It's called economic propaganda.

>buying something because a 30-second clip told you to
sometimes I really think I'm living among NPCs

Both capitalism and communism are materialist. The two just differ in the layout of the economy.

I'm well aware post-soviet countries have a special affinity for the communist era.

I was using China as an example of a Communist country that is very happy to provide consumer goods to it's citizenry. They do produce most of the useless consumer crap in the world after all, and a lot of actual quality stuff too- even if it is derivative off Western designs.

Remember, only the government can take money out of your wallet user. You are the person in control.

Commerials don't work on you if you're not exposed to them. I shudder to think how much time our parent's generation wasted sitting on their arse watching commercials via the TV.

Too bad we still turned out stupid nonetheless.

why didn't they just say one of the dead bodies was Spartacus?
