Yea Forums, you dont actually watch film beyond 1080p, right?
1080P is clearly the peak you can watch actual film at without losing any sort of aesthetic integrity. Anything beyond 1080p is disgusting and loses the actual medium of film.
If you watch digital, it should only be in 720p or 480p.
Also Widescreen > Full screen. Widescreen is the patrician's choice.

1080p viewer reporting. 4k is a meme. Fuck that shit.

1080P is clearly the peak you can watch actual film at without losing any sort of aesthetic integrity.

Explain.
Also explain why watching a a 4k 35mm film rip is "wrong" when that is closer to what was seen in cinemas.

4k is a meme but the real game changer is HDR

also 1.85 : 1 is the true patrician aspect ratio

is your screen at home 30x90?
didnt think so faggot

It's a 120" projector screen, which is far more than enough to tell the difference.

this.

Prove it

>mfw can't find any 1080 kinoplex

>have three monitors
>two rectangle one square
>usually have old Adult Swim blocks, shows, and bumps playing on the square one
But my TV is widescreen. I don't know what the point is because every movie I watch still has letterboxing or pillarboxing

I have a 1440p monitor and you can see the improvement in that. Maybe your tv might not be sharp enough to notice?

Also, a fair amount of uhd movies look much more natural and there's less dnr and shit to give movies shot on film that digital look. So if anything, you get capture more of the medium with 4k.

>falling for the bait thread

Wait, are there even any real 4k projectors? Last I heard, almost all except a couple very expensive ones were still using pixel shifting to make a fake "4k" image.

Is it okay still use crt tv

4K blurays are mainly great for the HDR and because it’s given us new good transfers of films previously botched on bluray (such as American Psycho and Predator).

>turn on any CRT
>the high pitched whine regardless of how low or high end it is
never again. Don't know how I never noticed it before.

I would complain about this as a kid and everyone thought I was making shit up

>1.85 : 1 is the true patrician aspect ratio
I prefer 1.66, but 1.85 is still very good

35 mm with a 10k watt bulb is amazing

I actually own the first run of American Psycho on Bluray, and the disc isnt compatible with any of the blu-ray players I have. dafuq

>even 35mm is higher resolution than 4k

the only reason 4k isn't so great right now is because studios fucking cheap out and do 2k intermediates instead of fucking high resolution

The standard 35mm film used in motion pictures before the digital age easily matches 4k and can go considerably higher if you use special stock like Velvia, so this is bullshit.

For me it's 480p 4:3 ratio
