Netflix released a series on Nicholas II of Russia

It is called "The last Czars". Is it worth watching? Or is it just more propaganda designed to make the Bolsheviks look like heroes? Czar Nicholas II was murdered by bloodthirsty criminals. I want to see the truth.

That language though...
>his abdication saw the monarchy abolished in Russia.
>Or is it just more propaganda designed to make the Bolsheviks look like heroes?
What do you honestly think OP?

They shit all over Lenin and his fags making emphasis on how he almost lost control of the country and how he killed them out of fear.

I watched the first ep, i'm not a history buff but curious about it also. It's kinda weird because they have interviews with real people inbetween the dramatized acting, takes some getting used to. Don't know how accurate it is.

the bolshies literally were heroes though

(((experts)))

>its another "Russians speak english with a british accent" episode

cringe

It's messy as shit. High production values, but honestly the Bolshevics barely feature and the docu-drama thing doesn't really work. If anything they place too much onus on Grand Duke Sergei and Rasputin as the cause of Nicky's fuckups, and spend too much time trying to humanise him through his relationship with his family, which is honestly the best part of the whole program.

so what you're saying is that it's a chick netflick?

More like in the process of trying to make a ruthless autocrat a convincing tragic hero they've turned the whole thing into ahistorical pap.

>Czar Nicholas II was murdered by bloodthirsty criminals
Good

>dude lenin's mausoleum in the red square in 1905 lmao

very cool

I was going to watch it, hoping it would be a Russian series like Trotsky but it's US so hard pass.

Reminder that Nicholas II and his family are considered saints by the Russian Orthodox Church.

>>the Germans who unleashed the communists on the Russians for starting WWI were the good guys
>high IQ
And we're still paying for it.

>those same communist kikes that became a super power and enemy of the free world, infiltrating and sinking their tentacles in to every corner of our nation and slowly dragging it down to hell
Yeah man, truly an intellectual giant

That is America and Britian's fault joining the wrong side in the next war. It was a funny prank at the time.

Hadn’t Nicholas II already abdicated and given power over to the bolsheviks but then they murdered him and his family just because?

Yes but there was a full blown civil war going on at the time, the cause of which was restoring the Romanovs to the throne. Made sense.

nazbol gang

I WALKED THROUGH A ROOM WHERE THIS WAS ON AND IT WAS FUCKING TERRIBLE

ITS DRAMATIZATION INTERCUT WITH INTERVIEWS WHICH ARE ALSO DRAMATIZED

CLUSTERFUCK OF A SHOW AND I SAW MAYBE 3 MINUTES OF IT

They were ordered to be shot if the White armies got to close to them.

It’s ahistorical, but not in a way designed to push a particular agenda. It’s just too dramatized.

Yes. The Russians wanted Nicholas gone, there is no denying that. He was a tard with too much power. And they achieved it with the February Revolution. For a short period of time, the more cool headed and reasonable in the Duma looked towards France and the US, hoping to establish a liberal democracy once the war was over. Then that jingoist Lenin got sent in by the germans to fuck it all up and he succeeded beyond all expectations in the October Revolution (which was more of a military coup). But the murders was deliberate. In the world of an international communist, a monarch has no place. More practically, as long as the Romanov was alive they posed a threat to his newfound empire.

It's a pretty good show. It doesn't show you much about the Reds, but it is a good look inside the personal lives the the czar and the political mistakes that contributed to their downfall.
