To clarify, it makes the native americans look like white knights when in reality they did loads of horrific shit that people will just flat out ignore even though natives made a lot of colonists slaves and did a lot of bison killing and scalping. While there were some bad colonists, this does not mean that all colonists are bad, same for natives. Its just that when you make a movie so biased and unrealistic like dances with wolves, it literally pisses on real history in favor for "make whites feel guilty for shit that their anscestors did" narrative. In no way does this relate to Europeans and muslims because we're talking about native AMERICANS, not native EUROPEANS.

Every culture does loads of horrific shit. It's a milquetoast film for sure but it has some "good native american characters" as requested by the OP. Fuck Graham Greene is amazing, I'd also like to add Die Hard 3 to my list. I don't recall it having "Based on a true story" on the box or the end of the film. Whites should feel a little bad about forcing natives into reservations and more or less genociding them from existence. Not shed a tear bad, but maybe acknowledge it was kind of shitty.
