This isn't a very hard thing to understand. First off, Ashkenazi Jews as a group are fairly intelligent, but that wouldn't explain their incredible overrepresentation in certain domains alone. They were a "middleman minority", white but not really white, and excluded from many industries and parts of society. They capitalized on the rising entertainment industry early, something other powerful white men of the time couldn't give less of a shit about, and got a stranglehold on the production of movies, music, and media before they grew into the behemoth industries they are today. They have always been a nepotistic culture and aren't afraid to hire and promote those "like them", unlike whites in general who have been pressured into doing the opposite and foregoing any potential headway they could make. Jews aren't magically funnier or better actors than the general population, this is simply an industry built on breaks and exposure, that is totally dictated by what the men at the top want, and those men are Jews.

Suffering either makes people really jaded or understand that life is a meme and everything is okay to laugh at, also they have strong language and logic skills (actually very important for humor) due to the Talmud and they are close with other jews so they have lots of opportunities to joke around with like-minded people who won't take offense at everything.

You're not putting cultural differences into account though. Jews in the US have a culture that emphasizes success and education. They have stable homes, 2 parents, etc.. Whites have a much higher rate of broken homes, wedlock births, dropping out of school, welfare use, degenerate behaviors such as crime/alcoholism/drug use/etc.. All things that take away from success

jews get better a education from private 'jew school' than the average white does from public schools full of blacks disrupting the large class sizes.
