So how do we fix this board? Do we need stricter moderation? More wordfilters? Right now the state of this board is 90% off-topic threads and the 10% of on-topic threads get little to no replies unless they're about box-office numbers or movies literally everyone and their mother has seen leaving no room for more obscure films. Is there a way to stop this endless barrage of shit?
I know this board has been pretty bad for years but it has been going lower at an exponential rate over the last year.
Just make a version 2 of all the boards that have gone to shit and delete the old ones

Celeb gossip isn't the only problem plaguing the board, off-topic shit is a major issue too, besides that there are also problems within the userbase itself. Many users are now here only for "le epic memes" and don't know anything about cinema, which is something a rule cannot easily fix, how do we deal with that issue

Block posting from mobile devices without a pass. In other words mobile users (phoneposters) can still post but need a pass to do so, and are penalized for shitposting (bans will have their intended effect). Most of the shitposters are dumb kids who circumvent bans by shitposting on their mobile devices. I guarantee that this will fix the board. The second benefit of this solution is that it will limit underageb&s from posting as well since you need a credit card to buy the crypto necessary for a pass.
