But Jesus literally CHOSE to be crucified. It was the fulfillment of a prophecy. Dr. King advocated for non-violent demonstrations, he never once said a black person shouldn't own a gun or protect their own life from individual violence, only not actively throw their life away violently resisting systemic violence from police.

Using figures as scapegoats for gun control one way or another is retarded, though. Even Jesus' Apostles carried swords, and while he didn't advocate for their use, he didn't actively say they shouldn't have them.
