The most interesting parts of the movie for me were the photos of the cult doing small ritualistic stuff in what looked like a VFW hall, and the woman who befriends the mom. It felt very genuine and it got me thinking that a lot of my neighbors (I live in a town of mostly retirement age Catholics and Jews) could totally be sacrificing to Moloch and I'd be none the wiser. Even if supernatural stuff isn't real the idea of some deluded conspiracy like that happening is unnerving enough. The same sort of feeling S1 of True Detective.
