Gay for the most part but if you follow the right people, its pretty comfy.
it very well might be the only site that has worse opinions on film than Yea Forums
is reddit better than Yea Forums or equally bad?
ANSWER me, posting man!
Are the ratings for 'Sleep has her house' on this site an inside joke?
The cancer killing cinema.
how is it so influential?
i wouldn't know i don't read it.
but what would you guess?
alright i just looked at r/movies and the top five posts were:
>king's man trailer
>king's man poster
>a news story that the guy who played the bullet farmer in mad max fury road just died
>a quiet place 2 has begun filming
>someone asking what happens when a theater sells no tickets for a showing
compared to the most recently bumped posts on Yea Forums a second ago:
>a sneed thread
>"i love cinema sins"
>an rlm thread
>two threads complaining about black lady bond
i'm gonna have to give this one to reddit. i didn't know the bullet farmer guy died (WHERE'S THE STICKY MODS?) and i was mildly interested to know what happens for screenings that don't sell tickets. very informative. guess i'm gonna be a reddit guy now. peace y'all.
Letterboxd is just an echo chamber for Film Twitter, which is frighteningly influential in pop culture now.
I use it as a log, that's all. Same with goodreads. I don't follow people, I don't read reviews. It's simply there to log what I've watched.
I find that in the age of streaming or downloading films the names of films slip my mind far easier than they used to when you had to crack a box open and slip the thing into an external machine to play it. That's just me.

This is the most popular review of Birth of a Nation. I'd also like to mention that this individual gave Triumph of the Will a 5/5

Great profile, his old reviews are really hard to find
To be fair, the top 5 posts of a subreddit is equivalent to the top 5 most replied posts of a board.
Some of the people are gay as fuck. Out of curiosity I searched up my favorite scary film and there were a couple fags who said they couldn't stomach the film, what a bunch of snowflakes.

Should have said 1911 instead of 1910. The oldest year from which we actually have fully surviving feature films.

I thought that before I saw it but its actually fucking great. Not for everyone but definitely pure kino.
It's a fantastic tool for tracking, organizing and reviewing what you watch with possibly the worst userbase on the internet. I'd probably have a lot more followers if there were actually people I wanted to follow

Ayoade not listing any Wes Anderson in his Criterion Top 10 is pretty funny.
bump
I don't get it. There are like 1k films in Criterion, isn't it fairly likely that any top 10 wouldn't have Wes Anderson? Is that person known for liking Wes Anderson?
i think user is implying ayoade is derivative of anderson

George R.R Martin, A Clash of Kings
I love watching movies and talking about them. My favorite genre is sci-fi and I also like period dramas, foreign and classic films.
