I would like to purchase some of your finest beer please
why does that wall say "Pot"
Solid bait
This was legit good. Not passable like Wonder Woman or so-so like Aquaman, it really boggles the mind that this isn't the tone they went with in the first place. That it took them six years to course correct is insane.
I try.
Yeah Shazam was pretty okay I just wished they would have found an actor that looked more like the kid version and somebody actually willing to get ripped and not just wear a muscle suit that looks ridiculous. Also the villain is weak as fuck and not memorable this is still a recurring problem for DC.
Dude did a solid job of acting out like a teen who's suddenly in an adult body with superpowers. fun in an oldskool way.
Honestly the fake muscle suit added to the charm imo
Also yeah the plot in general is pretty weak. The villain seems to exist solely because there needed to be a villain.
>fun in an oldskool way.
yeah, it's very quaint but enjoyable. My biggest complaint is that most of the Shazam Family got almost no screen time to develop, and also that after credits scene robbed us of getting to see Supes job the fuck out against the Caps magic
short from potato
>Make the Wizard black
>Don't get Shaquille O Neal to play him
the villain had more depth than 6 of the 8 other villains in the DCEU at least
Nice best buy steelbook
the ones for Aquaman and Wonder Woman were shit
>they keep twinkies behind the counter
the absolute state...
Here you go fine sure. One case of Bud Light Orange
>Honestly the fake muscle suit added to the charm imo
No, fuck off, it was absolutely the worst part of the movie and prevents it from being a 10/10
Did the meme come from this or are they /ourguys/
why do you buy movies? just download them you fucking goober
I find it hard to believe a 13 year old boy would be able to drink a 6 pack of beer without calling it yucky
hack snyder almost ruined DCEU
"pop" - it's what retards call soda in America
>watch this
>it's honestly quite good
>get to the end
>realize I'm not going to remember it in a week
still one of the better mainsteam movies this year, sadly.
That movie had ADHD.
only the east coast calls soda "pop"
Why is it so forgettable? My dad tried to buy a ticket for it the other day not remembering we saw it 2 months ago, and I can't remember most of the plot myself
I actually did like it too
It a midwest thing northeast says soda
Democrats call it soda, Republicans call it pop. Southerners call it Coke, but they're retarded so who knows.
>My dad tried to buy a ticket for it the other day
How is it in theaters near you? I have the option of buying it right now on Google
I love this doofy bastard.
formerly kettle
>with a twist
i fucking hate this expression because literally everybody uses it for their shitty ass product
one of like 3 funny lines in the movie. I was very underwhelmed, and before watching I was hype.
Orm, Zod, And Sivana are all legit good villains. I know he’s not to everyone’s taste, but I loved Lexenberg too.
decent film, somewhat forgettable, as refreshing a superhero film can be these days, dc's only good film, tentacle porn at the end was kinda disturbing but other than that I nice way to waste a few hours
That's exactly what happens
I agree. I headcanon Shazam looking like he does because Billy thinks all the supers are wearing muscle suits.
They're fizzy drinks, you're all retarded
That’s fucking awesome.
/ourguys/
I think they were trying to make the story more morally ambiguous by opening with Mark Strong as a child: something about how the main character could easily have become like him; also the stuff with his Mom being basically trailer trash. but there was ultimately no edge and none of those aspects impacted the plot at all. the middle-school bullies subplot was even worse
it was a well-executed entertainment for children, without the something extra that can make a proper kids film into something more. I kept thinking of Kick Ass and how that managed to be a better "child superhero" movie while also having more gravitas than anything Marvel have done.
It wasn’t about moral ambiguity. It was about the perils of bad parenting and chasing fantasies that may or may not be real. Billy outgrew his fantasy and stopped running from happiness. Sivana never did.
>steel reserve is that way
he didn't outgrow it via character drama developing themes established in the backstory. the asian kid looked his mom up on the internet at a time that was convenient for that subplot to be tied up. it wasn't part of how the main story escalated.
>your dad can't remember things from 2 months ago
>you can't either
sorry but you both have alzheimer, it's genetic
>Mary does fuck all during the big fight
what did they mean by this?
>all those rolling papers
im in the middle of nowhere and they carry vape stuff mostly and some brands of cigarettes and cbd oils
>uh not a smoke shop
im talking about my local walgreens
No, running away to look for his mom is what ended Billy up in the group home to begin with. He’d spent his whole childhood running away from chances at happiness chasing a literal fantasy. He realizes that when he’s confronted with the reality.
Mary did the best thing of all.
im southern, i suck cocks for fun and hate niggers. i call it pibb
I don't know if a 14yo not knowing where their mom is really qualifies as a "literal fantasy". he could have taken every opportunity and still wanted to know where she was and why she left. as character development there was something missing.
it's quick but it's poignant that his former foster families didn't want him back after he ran away. This is said by the social worker. So he kept running away to find his real family thinking it was the only real way he could find home.
In the scene where he comes home as Shazam trying to go to his room undetected he hears the foster parents talking about how they'll always accept him with open arms.
i think he means that the fantasy is whatever idea about his mom is in his head. hes chasing an idyllic fantasy life with his long lost mom instead of taking actual real chances at happiness.
and, i should mention, theres nothing stopping him from allowing himself to love another family and look for his mom with their support
Gotcha broski
Based
Fellow PA fag here. Based.
oh
We have anons in Hollywood. No question about it.
Based and PApilled
the jewish brunette was hot
(only quality of this movie)
many such cases
This. This is exactly what I mean. This story’s got some interesting things to say about the perverse nature of envy and greed and how they’re both foils to happiness. No family was ever going to measure up to the fantasy Billy was chasing.
*touches beard*
>Billy never goes through the test of the sins
>Gets the Shazam powers and indulge on junk food (gluttony), goes to a strip club (lust), uses powers to get money (greed), is a showoff (pride), skips school (sloth), gets mad at freddy (wrath)
>But he actually has what he needs in life (even if he doesn't realize it yet) so he doesn't get envious, envy is reserved for Sivana and gets confronted by him in the end
Is he jewish?
I've cropped this half a decade ago.
There's no way this wasn't intentional bubble placement.
i love women
Orm is my favorite villain in recent years. i literally cannot think of anything he did wrong.
