Barbara Broccoli controls the Bond franchise with an rod of iron

>The usual film-making process is that producers provide the money, while the director is left to realise his vision.
>As Boyle discovered, to his peril, Eon Productions don’t work that way. You do it Barbara Broccoli’s way, or you can forget it.
>She has veto over casting, script, marketing and product placement. But, while the process is tightly controlled, what a Bond movie can offer a director is a huge budget and virtually guaranteed success.
>Production on Bond 25 had been due to start in December, with a release planned for autumn 2019 — but, at the 11th hour, the film has collapsed with sources indicating that Danny may have fallen foul of Barbara’s veto and her passionate regard for leading man Daniel Craig, to whom she is extremely close.
>All we know at this stage is that it certainly won’t be Oscar-winner Danny Boyle, who walked away from the project (known only as Bond 25) due to ‘creative differences.’
>This, so often, is entertainment industry code for something far more contentious having gone on behind the scenes.
>To understand more about the clash that occurred between Boyle and Bond producers, it’s important to know more about Barbara, the fiercely driven 58-year-old daughter of Cubby Broccoli, the founder of Eon productions who bought the film rights to the James Bond books in 1961.
>Eon stands for ‘Everything or Nothing’ and is now controlled by Barbara, helped by her stepbrother Michael G. Wilson.
>To say that she is formidable is an understatement. As Wilson once told an interviewer: ‘Barbara scares the hell out of people. Everyone is frightened to death of her.’ To which she responded: ‘Good!’ with a laugh.
>Her Bond career started when she was an assistant on Octopussy in 1983, at 23. Barbara and Michael took over at Eon in 1995, the year before Cubby died.

Bond turning into the bad guy would be a good twist but I don't think they have the balls to do it

They said Boyle had a script that made some very radical changes

>Be a man
>Build a legacy and a fortune
>Marry a whore
>Whore inherits legacy and fortune
>Whore ruins legacy and squanders fortune

Why don't men ever learn their lesson?

Barbara and Michael should do what they think is right, and trust no one of these marketing commitees

read op, ding dong

dis bitch named broccoli lmaooooooo

the fuck are you talking about?

>You do it Barbara Broccoli’s way, or you can forget it.
This was how it was with Cubby too. Nothing wrong with this approach if you know what you’re doing.

>Barbara and Michael should do what they think is right, and trust no one of these marketing commitees
too late, white boi, time's up

What kind of last name is broccoli anyway.

If done well maybe. But anything like that in Current Year + 4 will have a thinly-veiled "SMASH THE OLD PATRIARCHY!!!!111ELEVEN" slant to it.

CHOPPIN BROCCOLI

Why is it always a white woman behind shit like this?

Forget about the jews. White women are the real enemy

her dad owned the franchise rights

Your father pissed in your mother.

Barbara is Cubby's daughter you nit wit. And from what I've read, she is pretty much just like her father.

they want this.

white women are merely a tool of the jews

the jews know their tools and they use them well

he's wrong and yet he's... not wrong.

First Kathleen, now Barbara. Why is it that women keep getting their hands on long-running franchises and also turning out to be control-freak tyrants?

Every production company works that way. They provide the money, of course they decide how the movie is filmed.

Bond franchise has done pretty well under Barbara's iron fist, you know. Cubby died in 1996.

>done pretty well
They made Tomorrow Never Dies, sure

But then they made The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day, and then the franchise went to sleep for 4 years

And then, OK, they made Casino Royale

But then they made Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre

2 good movies in 22 years isn't a great record.

Die Another Day was good though.

All of which have done money. And quality wise Cubby produced much worse Bond movies.

It's funny that Quantum was the only true Bond movie of the Craig era, and people continue to shit on it for some reason.
Casino Royale is an awesome film, but it's an origin story, not a true, iconic "Bond movie".

>diversity and inclusion is something I feel strongly about.
>It's important that the film reflects the world that we live in

Female bosses come in two real varieties: super chill and utter tyrants. Usually they are tyrants because they have a chip on their shoulder for one reason or another.

>tfw no domineering borderline sociopathic Hollywood big shot producer mommyfu

If i was her i would be protective to.
A lot of directors would want to put their little gay spin on it when that's not what you are hired for.
Danny boyle is overrated anyway.
trainspotting is way overrated.

Considering they have no merit, marry a producer and become insta producer, they develop a crazy sense of entitlement. they think if they could get there without doing anything, then maybe they deserved it and more.

So just like male bosses then. Who knew.
