Why was this awful? The ending was shit and it felt like a fuck you to John Lasseter for getting metoo’d.

John Lasseter is like the most harmless man in Hollywood and they brought him down over hugging. He should have done what Vic Mignona is doing and sued his accusers in court.
>What matters is that we're here for Andy when he needs us. That's what we're made for, right?
>But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever.
Well that was a fuckin lie.
I think the real question became whether he'd remain there and loyal to Bonnie or Bo now that they've found one another. Buzz is there for Bonnie, Woody's there for Bo.
He didn't stop until he was sure - on the honor of his closest friend, Buzz - that Bonnie would be fine. That's as good as it gets.
How did it end?
>americucks tolerate inappropriate and unprofessional behavior from their bosses.
Woody bails on the gang and pretty much spits on the previous 3 films
What the fuck? He just stays at the carnival place? That's retarded as fuck.
Woody was always self aware that he was a toy. A child's plaything. I just didn't buy into the Bo relationship nearly enough to justify them throwing out three films worth of character development. They establish the toys as a family. He ditched his family when things got difficult. I shouldn't be surprised that in 2019 the films message would be yaaaaas girl power, you do you, follow impulses and fuck everybody else, run away from your problems, leave your family. Ah well, all I know is the other films made me cry like a baby. Toy Story 4 I felt nothing.
I can't believe they put the black sun symbol in the background of this... this is Trump's America... I'm crying and I hope you nazi's are happy...

There's more to it than that. He's becoming a forgotten toy at Bonnie's and not sure what he's doing with his life. He's helping the newest toy in the gang NOT COMMIT SUICIDE over and over because Bonnie is using the toy as her emotional anchor through starting Kindergarten.
He teaches multiple toys what it means to provide love and comfort for a kid, especially as the favored one. He gives up his voicebox to offer an old toy made in the '50's her first chance to do something selfless for a child.
It's only after meeting a "lost" toy (his old friend Bo, and a few others) that he realizes there may be life beyond hoping to not be thrown away again. He's still honor-bound to go back to Bonnie and leave Bo all over again until Buzz tells him
"She'll be fine. BONNIE will be fine."
It makes sense if you aren't brick-headed. You grow up and priorities change. He's lived out his time comforting two kids, and now it's time for something new.
Let's be honest - you're upset because he's not marketable just in time for Toy Story 5.
I forgot to add he is doing it for love, but it's still horseshit he bails
> He ditched his family when things got difficult.
He left a constant cycle of abandonment knowing that Bonnie would turn out okay, and his life meant more with Bo than in the back of a closet.
Are you really that dense? Are you really throwing a tantrum over DIsney not being able to brand Toy Story 5 as "WOODY AND THE GANG JUST LIKE I REMEMBER in 1995?!"
So whats the excuse for Bo Peep having a new body? didn't the first movie establish that the swapping toy heads still has the body be controlled by the original toy?
And why didn't Bo correct woody on the sheep's gender in Toy story 1?
Random, but any updates on the whole Vic thing?
She doesn't have a new body. Her rig was updated because the polygon count and contours from the original model would look fucking horrifying in 2019.
She has several cracks and broken limbs, which is why they're bound together with tape. You might as well be asking why Buzz's arm still works after getting ripped off in the original film.
Did you forget the toys come to life when the kid leaves? He doesn't just live in the back of the closet. He still has the companionship of his fellow toys. His friends that he just ditched for some pussy he can't even fuck. The entirety of Toy Story 4 shit on the original characters. Their friendship wasn't enough. Wasn't even enough to give them more than 5 fucking minutes of screentime. Is it possible to make a film that gives screentime to the classic characters without being a rehash? Yes. But if they can't pull it off, just don't make the fucking film.
> If it was good enough for Squeakers, it was good enough for Woody!
Being a forgotten toy isn't for everyone. This movie showed time and again maybe there's life beyond living in a kid's room while still helping toys find their perfect kid.
So you want everyone to return to Bonnie's and join a growing cadre of characters with increasingly small screen-time apiece. You don't want a rehash, but you want a rehash. Got it.
Literally no-one wants Jessie to replace woody. She sucks
I don't want a rehash, I want them to not make the film if they can't make one that respects the characters. Leave it at three films. If you have to create a new cast because you don't know what to do with the originals then the film shouldn't exist.
but easy money
They're fucking toys, they shouldn't have a life outside of being a child's plaything
Toy Story 5: Vibrators decide they want a life outside a vagina. Ending with an empowering vibrator sexchange into a Fleshlight.
Toy Story 4 felt like a tv movie or a feature length pilot for a Toy Story series.
Maybe if they dropped the "4" and marketed it as a spinoff I would have liked it more.
Missing Toy Squad: A Toy Story Story
it's kiddie cringe dude
learned my lesson with pokemon
you should've too
Based. Too bad retards can't read this perfectly sensible explanation.
Dude Where's My Voicebox?
Vegeta voice actor had his deposition in court and made a fool out of himself. Basically admitted to everything he was accused of doing to Vic but tried to put a positive spin on it.
The Funimation case is going to be more difficult, but like dominos they could fall after Ron Toye (Vegeta dub VA). If the court finds that Toye got Vic wrongfully terminated from his contracts then it will probably influence the case with Funimation. From the sounds of it Vic just wants to go back to work and is not looking for a payout from Funimation, but that really comes down to whether or not Funimation is willing to settle or what terms they can negotiate.
So still innocent until proven guilty. Thanks.
Ron Toye isn't Vegeta's dub VA you retard. Ron Toye is Monica Rial's (Bulma's dub VA) fiance. Chris Sabatt is Vegeta's dub VA.
Derp I get all these people mixed up. They all look so similar and their tweets all sound like they're written by the same person.
>make the main character leave his best friends under the guise of "lel i'm a toy for every kid"
>the entirety of Luke's character in TLJ
>Vanellope being a little shit at the end of Ralph 2
Disney loves character assassination these days.
The characterization is all over the place. Buzz is reduced to an idiot even dumber than his TS1 appearance. Woody acts out of character constantly. Bo Peep is given a personality makeover, but that can be over looked as a lost toy. Key and Peele add fucking nothing to the film, The message is constantly fuck your kid, go do what you want. A proper TS4 ending would have convinced Bo to join Boonie's toys rather than Woody fucks off to join the traveling carnival. It's basically the opposite of the message of TS3 which makes no sense. Even the character development in the two TV specials is completely tossed away other than 2 gags (mini Joes returning for a moment and the Dino lunchbox).
Also who fucking cares that Bonnie left Woody in the closet like 3 times in the last week. Jesus Christ, that is not the end of the world.
Because Keanu Reeves ruins everything he touches.
I swear buzz didn't even get many lines in it
It's not a shock given Monica is such a shitty person
He didn't nor did most of the characters. Almost all the dialogue is carried by the handful on the poster (plus Buzz getting an appearance because you can't show Woody without Buzz)
Why did they make Buzz retarded in this movie?
Because Republican bad
Sadly not far from the truth of it
Good post. Also I think people focus too much on Bo. It seems like what happened with gabby is really what cemented Woody's decision. His main motivations have always been to be there for his kid, and to help the other toys. Bonnie simply didn't care about him the same way Andy did and Jessie had replaced his role in playtime while Dolly had the role of leading and caring for the other toys. He realized his friends would be fine without him and that there was an entire world of kids and toys he could be helping.
