I used to love being a wagie. I had a great job, great work culture and good people around me. All came crashing down when management decided to move our division to India. Now, I'm working at a place far from me, my boss and coworkers treat me like shit and I hate every minute of my job.

It depends on job and people you work with. I'm working 40 hours weeks (Europe) factory work, and I genuinely enjoy it - because it's "postcard" department where quality is ridiculously over-the-top, something new happens on weekly basis, and work is slow. Almost everything is done by machine, and it's autistically fun to mess with big brand new machines every day.
