The scene where they arrive at the helicopter for the "first time" and the movie shifts to her perspective and he doesn't want to go on because he has already tried fucking everything is so good

I don't understand why Cruise just left the woman alone when he got back to the same point at the end of the movie, he'd grown to love her.
