Captain, did I ever tell you about my adopted human sister...

Captain, did I ever tell you about my adopted human sister? She started that war with the klingons ten years ago that we never talk about. She was involved in several violations of General Order One (now called the Prime Directive, I don't know why we changed the name), helped develop a fungus-based teleportation system, went to the Mirror Universe and removed the Emperor without altering anything fundamentally by the time we visited it, went back in time several times, defeated a computer that probably later turned into the Borg even though the writers didn't make that explicit, went to the future to stop the computer from stealing information after it was already unable to steal it, told me to be friends with you, had a terrible haircut, got interstellar psychic phone calls from my father, got my father to speak about me many times even though he hated me and refused to discuss me when we first met him, saw holograms many times about two-hundred years before they were invented, heard me say my catchphrase "I like science," and had all records of her erased from the Federation even though Sarek is like the most famous Vulcan in the galaxy and his adopted human daughter would surely be very memorable. She was a good friend.

SPOCK, NOOOO!

Ah yes Spock now that you mentioned it I did bone her that one time I was on Vulcan

It's a disgrace how they've been shitting on the canon since 2001.

God damn how I wish this series would keep going FORWARD in time instead of constantly going backward to constantly nostalgia bait.
Imagine what Star Trek could've been if every series only took place AFTER the series' that had already been done.

so write something, don't just sit there with your thumbs up your asshole bitching on Yea Forums.

Write something, get an agent, float it to the studio.

A path for a much younger man; I'm too busy making a VN to try to get a sweet, sweet Patreon retirement fund.

what's a VN and quit yer bitchin' what are you 34?

I'm 39.
Visual Novel. Like a vidya but not really a vidya.
The ones that make cash are all porn games, but there are fuckers making $50k a month.

interesting. link/ example?

People who expect Spock to talk about his family are people who don't watch Star Trek.

That means you, OP. You don't watch Star Trek. You just pretend to in order to virtue signal your political positions.

A lot of these faggots are milking it pretty blatantly.
This particular one, his game has been in dev for almost 3 years already, and is slated to still be in dev for at least 3 more. Giving him another fucking $2 million. And it's currently at version 0.18.

I would rather watch Discovery than a Star Trek series by a guy whose plan for retirement is to make a dating sim.

Rotate your photos, jerk!

i don't think Disco is canon. i think it's some parallel universe shit.

the problem with going forward is similar to the problem of "why don't they use transporters to solve all of their problems?"

the idea of the transporter is so massively overpowered that the writers are constantly inventing reasons why it doesn't work. imagine a series set in the 25th century with all of the cool tricks they learned from the Borg, as well as ubiquitous AI, nanobots, regenerative armor and the like. it becomes harder and harder to pitch a story in these circumstances.

Ah.... yes, Mr. Spock... your sister. I... *furrows eyebrows* don't believe you mentioned before... that... you.... had a sister. If you did... I *pauses for half an hour* apologize. I'm sure I was distracted with *leers at passing female crewmember* important matters of ship and crew.

why do horror movies still work even though we have GPS, smartphones, apple watches, and being monintored 24/7 of our every location?

It's impossible for a tripfag to insult me, especially this particular tripfag. I could write circles around those STD faggots. But I'm not an SJW or Tarantino so I'd never get in the door.

that's gay, who pays for this shit? esp. when porn is free.

I'm still waiting for the modern horror masterpiece "THE POWER WENT OUT... FOR GOOD".

No idea who's actually paying, but even the minor "interactive" element of it puts the experience in a different category from porn. Especially with the ones that actually have interactive sex scenes, like Teaching Feeling.

Even Roddenberry himself said to ignore Star Trek V.

Now read the filename.

>GPS, smartphones, apple watches, and being monintored 24/7 of our every location?

"I can't get a signal!"

"My phone's battery has died!"

"It's asking me to sign in to iTunes!"

"the fingerprint reader doesn't work now that the monster has chewed my fingers off!"

Based monster, stopping temporarily just to heighten the tension.

I could right a literal masterpiece and it'd be rejected because my name doesn't end with a berg or stein

change your name to Bergstein.

problem solved.

Does STD use the same warp scale that TOS does where 10 isn't infinite speed?

Of course it's not canon. Only the faggots running Memory Alpha consider it canon.

I don't care about Trek canon from the 60s, because it's faggy. I just want a good show, and DISCO delivers. If you're upset that they didn't reuse cheap $12 sets from the 60s, you're a fucking moron.

The writers explicitly stated it's in the prime universe.
