The problem was never "too many villains" dumb fuck, its just execution.

Infinity War had 5 villains, Endgame had 7, hell MCU Spider-Man already has 4 villains.

It would have sucked and the game would have made it look worse in retrospect.

Shekels require customers, but I just don't understand who the target audience even is. A Spiderman movie outside of the MCU that doesn't even feature Spiderman? I suppose Venom somehow was a success, but even that one has me confused and it required no previous background understanding of the character.

There wasn’t another Big Bad besides Thanos soaking up development/screen time. When multiple villains are brought up, it’s usually in reference to how Batman Returns/Forever/&Robin and Spider-Man 3 did it. We don’t count all the henchmen in Batman, just whatever two are relevant to the story

Sinister Six is going to be Sony’s Avengers. But i’m not sure how Vulture & Mysterio will fit in since they already appeared in the MCU. I guess they’ll just redesign the characters to seperate from what Disneys doing.
