Dusted off my old Episode II DVD and popped in the extras disc. Damn, there's hours upon hours of bonus content. They don't do home video releases like this anymore.

That's how all the Star Wars DVD releases were. The only thing that rivaled them were the LoTR trilogy DVDs.

>can watch 20 hours of armor forging
yup

>yfw you realize Episode II has almost Hitchcock-tier mastery of color, slowly transitioning from the blue tinted Jedi beginning to reds at the end, representing both Anakin and the Republic falling under the sway of Palpatine

It's a nice looking film except for most of the big battle pieces on Geonosis.

>most of the big battle pieces on Geonosis.

Yeah, that stuff is not aging well. But from a cinematographical perspective, Episode II should be up there with Vertigo in terms of use of color.

If only George had let someone else write his fucking dialogue, because he has to be one of the best visual filmmakers of all time

>Lucas is avant-garde in color
>Marries black woman

Gotta respect the commitment to the bit

Yea I'm pretty disappointed the blu ray collection is missing trailers and tv spots. Not sure what else is missing.
I remember popping in ep 3 into the xbox for a demo of Battlefront II.
Same with riddick, had a demo for butcher bay.

I've noticed most recent home video releases don't have original trailers and TV spots. Or at least the shit I buy doesn't.

Most DVDs were like this for a while, Disney also had some stacked DVD extras

>that first version of the Snow White dvd
That had some good stuff in it. Stupid kid me was blown away seeing how they did that multi plane camera for perspective.

Gay

No

Episode II is the only good Star Wars film. Episode III is alright but not as good. The rest are total shit.

Hi contrarian

>If only George had let someone else write his fucking dialogue, because he has to be one of the best visual filmmakers of all time

to be fair, i always took anakin, obiwan, and padme's cheeseyness to be in character and totally logical. anakin grew up an awkward weirdo slave who was then told he was 'the chosen one', padme was autistically raised to be a politician from a young age, and obiwan was suffered from PTSD from being the only jedi living to have fought and survived against a sith lord. they'd have personality disorders and be awkward weirdos for sure. also, maybe humor is different in a galaxy far far away and all their jokes are stellar in their galaxy, u dont know, faggot

What annoys me is when a later release of a film actually omits the special features. The Alien Quadrilogy had 5 disks of special features all of which were carried over to the initial blu ray set, maybe the best box set ever in terms of bonus content. Then they released a blu ray set without the bonus content. Individual seasons of Red Dwarf all have a bunch of special features but I picked up all the original seasons in one set not realising it included absolutely none of the bonus content the individual sets had

>full screen DVDs
I remember arguing with my friends for hours about why they were dumb to buy these.

look at this faggot, he doesnt own the vhs originals, the vhs special editions, the OT dvd fullscreen + wide screen box sets, the prequel dvd full screen + wide screen box sets and the blu ray set + laser disc copies.

yikes and not-a-true-fan-pilled.

>tfw quadrilogy dvd set with no special features
It was only 15 bucks or something though.

Episode 3 was a shit fest.
George rushed that movie and it shows.

Not him but.
I have one laser disc (a new hope), VHS originals for eps 1-3, the 30th anniversary remaster VHS set for 4-6, full screen dvd for ep 1 and 2, widescreen dvd for 3-6 and FA, blu ray for 4-6 and rogue one.

>rogue one

absolutely disgusting, gtfo of here.

Star Wars BTS is always comfy

If you mean that cheap set where it's just the movies then come on. It's a basic collection for the people that only want the movie.

No shit? These days you're lucky if they toss in a gag reel.

I used to buy DVDs. Watch the film, watch all the extras (maming of, interviews, special effects feature, etc, etc, etc), watch the film again with commentary and then go find a forum to talk about it on. It was more of a full experience, IMO.

Now I just watch the movie, skip everythimg else and come here of all places to see if there's already a thread. And only with new movies.

This displeases my OCD a great deal.

Why was Duel of the Fates played during this scene? It feels retarded seeing this wide shot with that high energy music in the background.

Someone post the black and white shots of the prequel trilogy

and direct the actors
