It's sneed

yes

what a boring design

based

Alternate dimension Earth creature who wants to take over our Earth because he's an asshole.
Considering the creature cannot fucking stand sunlight, I don't know why the fuck it wants to live on 'our' side.

It's a big gay nigger and he's coming for you

I think it's more akin to an old one

He sounds like a real jerk

Old Ones are ayy lmaos

D&D Mind Flayers come from a future at the end of the heat death of the multiverse and are in the present day to start building their future empire.

What are the odds they'll reveal the upside down isn't a twisted mirror dimension, but rather future Earth?

extra-dimensional cosmic horror super monster.

What is the last movie with an interesting monster design? I can't think of anything recent. It's either a big fleshy/squid monster or a big lizard.

Attached: alien vs predator.jpg (2800x1490, 664K)

generic alternate dimension entity

Splinter was interesting. Also, splice.

I think a lot of writers these days are confusing mystery with a lack of information.

If you actually go back and read stuff like Lovecraft where the evil creatures’ desires are so alien that they’re incomprehensible to human minds, there’s still usually quite a lot of information about them and what they want weaved into the story itself, but since this stuff is mostly gleaned from the environment and the baddies’ minions the baddies themselves are still mysterious and inhuman. By the end of The Call of Cthulhu you know practically everything about Cthulhu even though ol squiddy himself never says a word.

Whereas with Stranger Things, what exactly the Mind Flayer wants beyond YEAH KILL EM is up in the air and even though he speaks through Billy at one point he’s just all like “nyeh heh heh I’ll get you meddling kids”. It’s boring. There’s nothing to him. It’s a cheap imitation of a Lovecraftian monster without understanding what makes them interesting.

Do you guys think the Mind Flayer is a good antagonist?

I don't find it very compelling but that old dude from Season 1 was a good one

Mind Flayer sucks and isn't scary at all. At least they gave it a flesh golem in S3 instead of having be a stupid cgi smoke monster.
The demogorgon was great and threatening, the line where they speculate it might just be a bear of the upside down made it seem like there was something truly terrifying in there, and it turns out to be some shithead that loses twice because someone slammed the door in his face.

>because I don't know what a mindflayer wants nobody does
I'll give you a hint, it wants the same thing every creature whose gimmick is "psychic domination" wants.

That’s boring though

He can adapt

I actually like how this smokey fucker just turns around and starts talking like he could have done it the whole time, we don't know if he just learns it when he starts bodysnatching or he knew it the whole time. Its a cool idea, like you are in a cabin with wolves outside and the wolves actually understand what you are saying. You are expecting the enemy to act in one way but they blow that perception out of the water, shame stranger things never did anything with this idea.

read the book, brainlet

Yes and it will come back cause he is the final "villain"

Arrival

literally a Muto which was shit design to begin with

Attached: 1538574394744.jpg (1006x802, 309K)

Why didn't he just eat sunscreen

He's the only villain. The demogorgons are just mindless animals and as far as we know there's nothing else in the upside down.
It's pretty obvious the Duffers had no concepts at all for anything after the first season.
I wonder what D&D monsters they'll throw at us as filler until Netflix decides to cancel.

boipusy?

Big tiddy drow plz.

You'll get Driders, and you'll like it.

Will finally gets a girlfriend

All season 4 consists of is Eleven making an >AGGGGHHHHHH face while everyone does nothing

Comfy virus-lmaoos

Don't worry she lost her power so for at least two episodes she wont make the autistic face.

Beholders.

Torrasque would be a nice monster, but I guess they wasted thei chance with whatever this pseudo kaiju monster was.

Also, maybe a Dagon like fish.

nothing wrong with that

Whoa watch the language pal

The Ritual is one I'm hearing a lot here. Although I'm a bit split on it. It reminded me of a Todd McFarland toy.

I'm already a demon Kaz

The true JUST, lost to a bunch of kids three fucking times lmao

>took a girl on a date to see sploce, looks like an ok horror monsyer movie
>noseberg bangs splice
>then it traniels and rapes the girl

Not a great date movie.

He's so lame though. It really ruins the allure of the Upside Down

I watched it with my entire family becaus my older sister told us it was "thought provoking" and my dad kept hitting "previous" and changing to football during the sex scene, switching back to see if the scene was over. I think sex was like a few seconds long, but it felt like forever because he kept switching and making these weird uncomfortable noises. When the rape scene came on he shouted "God fucking damn it," turned the TV off and went upstairs.

Demonshit from another dimension.
I like this design a lot.

Your dad sounds like he's 8 years old.

He was when I was born, but I think I was about 9 when we watched it.

>He was when I was born
Also, what dumb cunt thinks a movie like that is appropriate for a 9yo to watch?
Your family is fucked, mate.

Would you believe I was lying about both my age and my father's?

DUNNO, SOME GAY SHIT PROLLY, LMAO

when does it show he hates sunlight

It hates heat. Sunlight=heat

100% if they happen to read that theory on leddit

I think it would look creepier if it didn't have a discernible "head"

>take rocket into the upside down
>go to space
is there upside down versions of other planets?

I wonder how awkward that must’ve been on set

They better not bring back this scooby doo tier dickhead for S4, literally no one is afraid of him as they just sit there and watch El mindfuck him while someone shuts the gate for the hundredth time

Looks like the tentacles of that one kid from Billy and Mandy.

Are demogorgons just a flayed creature from another dimension? It doesn't seem like the mind flayer created them

They don't seem like it, I think it's more likely that they're just creatures who's world the Flayer has completely assumed control over. It invaded their world in the same way it invaded Earth, but since they're obviously not technologically inclined they had no real way to fight back against it, if they even understood what was happening to them in the first place. My guess is that they're just like the flayed humans, they operate normally and go about their business until the Flayer sends them instructions, at which point they're forcibly compelled to obey.

That's what I just said though. That they were flayed

chad lifeguard getting blisters from the sun

Yeah shoulda phrased better, I was just responding to the end half of your post.

Came here to say this.

Attached: Sneed's_feed_and_seed.png (640x480, 222K)

>I wonder what D&D monsters
none they clearly just picked up a monster manual and picked out names they think sounded cool and clearly never read any of the entries because they'd know that demogorgon is immune to fireball

yeah they definitely ruined it by showing the whole monster too early. at least in season 1 they didn't reveal what the monster looked like until the end. season 2 with the dog monsters wasn't scary at all. They should have just showed the mind flayer's tentacles and legs and such

funny to think in an alternate universe the Duffer bros. left season 1 as a self contained story and Stranger Things is considered a modern classic instead of just another Netflix show. Love of money really is the root of all evil

there's a lake isn't there?

>mind flayer

That's a reference to a race from Dungeons and Dragons that are basically physic vampire squid people.

It's Lovecraftian, so basically it's a magic demon alien from another planet and/or dimension.

The kids didn’t even have an ancient turtle god helping them.

How embarrassing.

I work w the duffers and the plan is this. Time becomes a story element for a lot of reasons, one being to be able to bring Hopper back

>mind flayer wants to kill the kids
>decides to yell at them instead
is he retarded?

Attached: screaming.jpg (1920x1080, 368K)

shut the fuck up anyone who is not retarded knows hopper is alive

Severely autistic.

Fair enough, peace

There’s not a lot going on over on his side. Plus, if you’re an inter dimensional monster that can take over minds, why wouldn’t you take over every world you can find?

The MF is still alive, right? They mentioned their intention to “cut the brain off from the body and kill it.” They just meant kill the bit that was on our side, right? 90% of it should be on the other side and fine, but I guess you could argue that the brain part got stranded here.

its a fucking reaper, KILL IT

It's absolutely still alive, and because it's almost certainly a gestalt entity that means that the loss of a small portion of itself is completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of killing it. It managed to pull off all of the bullshit in S3 by activating only the tiny portion of itself which escaped from Will's body.

> Doesn't realize that an aboleth would be the best next villain

>psionic ancient beastie related to the far realm
Too similar to the mind flayer, anything featured in Lords of Madness needs to be a hard miss.

just make clouds nigga lmao

There are direct parallels to the buildings in the real world. If it’s the future, it must not be so distant for them to still be standing.

some are

It still works though, could even be a anti-hero that immediately turns into a villain once/if they destroy the mindflayer

>even ayyy lmaos end of waifuing Amy Adams
What did villeneuve mean by this?

A fish! No!

aboleths are kind of the anti mind flayer in the sense that they represent the sum total of material plane knowledge, while the mind flayers are totally alien. It would be cool if other supernatural monster factions arose in ST

>Dustin's explanation that zombies are what can defeat the Mind Flayer
Terry Ives is going to trap it in her mind, somehow, with the psychic abilities she's already demonstrated. She will then be sacrificed to kill it for good but will meet Eleven on the black psychic plane before dying.

The old dude from S1 IS the spider-villain. The demogorgon sucked him into the Upside-Down and he somehow became king of the hill, that's why he wants to get back to the real world. Well, than and fuck around with Eleven.

it represents the jews meddling in destructive economic policies

You're right desu, although they did a nice job keeping the "head" mostly shadowed. There are no eyes, and no mouth was visible until S3 when it built the flesh body

Tbh I was hoping each season would present a brand new monster from the Upside Down, with each bearing some resemblance to a D&D character and given that name.

Thessalhydra when?

I was hoping this too
>muh mind flayer again
how boring

>has the capacity to mind-control intelligent humans to do his bidding supposedly building to some plan
>actual form is just big dumb loud le scary big teeth monster
inb4 b-but it's Niggercraftian

Attached: 1524065959814s.jpg (250x174, 5K)

S4 Tiamat.

I think the creepiest aspect of this monster wasn't the design itself, but the fact that it was made up of a bunch of innocent people it mind controlled and liquified into a bloody biomass to use as it's body. A bunch of men women and children from all walks of life fucking died to create this thing, and it's never even mentioned again, which bothered me most of all. That's pretty fucking dark desu.

Attached: 1439612700042.png (401x372, 56K)

Yeah, but the monster itself was slow, stupid, and in general worthless.

well to be fair if it were any smarter and faster how would we expect a bunch of preteens to defeat it?

>first meme arrow has nothing to do with second meme arrow
Dumb frogposter.

hell yeah, disappointing that we only got a couple episodes of corrupted townspeople before they all got liquidated

Accidently made doomsday biomachine made to save the world tgat ended up ending the world (how ironic teehee) so we use our best resources to send our best scientists into the past to prevent the future, but in the process the scientists end up getting took by the goverments in the past, they lose 11 and now the end of the world will happen in 1980s instead of 2020. Any other questions?

They hate D&D now. D&D is for lame kids not cool mature people.

I'm just mad that nobody seemed to even notice or remember that happened.

You think it's a alien? Inb4 >coincidently just happens to be able to interect with human, and animal DNA because. No need to explain why.

ST has gone the way of GoT and i expect the plot will get lazier and lazier

Incest, and drunkeness?

that would be cooler i meant plotholes and pandering

death-PROCESS, stupid. Can you not read circles?

>preteens
pretty sure them kids got bushy hair on their snatches famm

That's why the gang split, and gave their DnD to Goodwill. Next season will be a new younger group of kids who bought the gangs old game, and will uncover the truth about Stranger Things.

>she's a big tiddy demigorgan

it wasn't given to goodwill, the little sheboon got it, and I don't think they'll be getting rid off Millie anytime soon since she's the biggest draw for the show

I'm praying to God they introduce psychics that are villains. It would be nice if they kept that DnD gimmick but I doubt they will. Would be cool to have a super soldier pyrokinetic called the dragon hunting the crew. But seeing that episode in S2 makes me not want this sadly.

So the retards are hacks who decide to use time travel to explain away their inability to create a story with an ending? That would make them true Hollywood big wigs.

>movie about ayy lmao squids who communicate with ink circles
>follows a cunning linguist trying to decipher their language
>is actually pretty interesting
>last chunk of the movie is LOL I CAN SEE THE FUTURE random shitposting and human family drama with no purpose

Most of the film was good, but why the fuck did it go in that direction at the end?

they're probably going to have a soviet 11, only instead of a girl it's going to be a middle aged scowling blond man.

I kinda hope they sorta take Hopper down a bit so he isn't the only one going commando, but I also know they'd just replace him with a woman.

it had a female lead so obviously it needed to have some domestic drama

he will be replaced by the little sheboon only stead of brute force she will use her math skills to overpower 7 foot tall lumbering russian soldiers

I honestly hope they save russia for the finale season so the russians can build up whatever it is they are doing and they show us a bit more of a home grown villain from the US, like one of the numbers that's gone Magneto and is trying to get all the numbers together because master race.

>so the russians can build up whatever it is they are doing

it's called "communism" user

If the Demogorgon can open portals at will, and it's part of the hivemind that is the Mind Flayer, why can't the Flayer just destroy them all whenever he wants?

dios mio... el oscuridad...

I just hope for no more forced cheesy romance crap.
Especially m*leven.

Final episode is going to be the monster turning directly to the camera and explaining why the immortal science of Marxism-Leninism must be accepted.

It hates super hot heat. That's why Billy reacted poorly to a sunburn and how Will said around 220 freedom degrees will piss it off.

And the monster's name?

Albert Einstein.

They literally mentioned during the news cast at the end that like 30+ people were missing & presumed dead over what happened.

when is niggaman gonna make an appearance?

Aliens are demons

Close to 101 in celsicucks.

It's Candlejack

dang you are right son

Pretty much this. It's a distinction without a difference, in this context.

Regardless of what it is, it is from a parallel universe. Does that make it a demon? Does it make it an alien?

Is there a natural analogue to it in our universe, it just never got here? Hasn't gotten here yet? How is the Mind Flayer functionally different from the thing from The Thing, aside from being implicitly sentient and mildly psychic?

I mean, I call it "the fuckin' demons" because nobody in a small-town-America in the 1980's would think "alien" in this context. Church-goers would definitely seize on "demon." The first Demigorgon could've passed the "it's an alien" test but not its master.

it's the gravemind from halo

candlejack? yeah r

Yeah, I wonder

Attached: psyker.png (1920x872, 1.98M)

Where is Doomguy?

The “upside down” is not just a parallel universe, but a very near potential future after some sort of Armageddon brought on by the mind flayer. It basically just wants more elbow room, so that’s why it is so interested in our world. This will all be explained in the next season’s time travel subplot.

Yeah, I kind of figured they introduced Russia just to tie the Chernobyl disaster into the Upside-Down.

yeah s3 was supposed to be 1985, and chernobyl happened in 1986 so there's a high chance of them including that in s4

I'm still baffled by how good this shit is. Legit better action than anything Hollywood has produced in years.

If the kids travel to that radioactive shithole that legit dismantles people's very DNA and leaves them to die in horrible agony, and then everything is A-OK with them, I'll be mad as fuck.

bad writing

don't worry, erica and susan will figure out some math equations to keep everyone safe, but only after dustin sings another 5 minute split screen song

>dozens of townspeople from all parts of life in a tiny town all go missing at the exact same time
>This is never mentioned again or even in the newspaper clipping mentioning Hoppers death despite him being a lonely recluse
Is this a new level of lazy writing? How the fuck do you just forget about this major event that would massively impact this tiny town and not only leave it in shambles but also invite everyones suspicions. Heathers whole family (including the boss of the local paper) literally vanished??

Attached: wtf.gif (300x300, 1.47M)

They died in the mall fire, you ignoramus. The Local News blip at the end implies that the mass death was locally attributed to Satan worship.

>All these people who at the blink of eye turned into unresponsive zombies and all walked into the woods died at a mall fire they were nowhere near or even seen to be near
>this is good writing and not a terrible coverup

Just binging this thing for the first time today. Does anyone else feel a lot of cucking subtext in this? First with the Nancy love triangle thing and then with the way Mrs. Byers acts towards officer Hopper around her boyfriend "the brain"

It's a terrible cover-up. The government keeps covering up shit in this town because they're on the line for all of it.

It is mentioned at the end with that little newsbit at the end
Hawkins is now a hotbed of conspiracies etc

I finally watched this shitty asshole of a season today and fucking hated it. I heard several people say "It's one of the best seasons..." Bullshit! Whoever enjoyed this season is an absolute retard.

>Will said around 220 freedom degrees will piss it off.
>water boils at 212F
so not for nothing but that would have fucking maimed or killed billy within a minute of exposure.

I wish Mike would get cucked by Chief Daddy.

>t. mad about the Robin turn and women in general

Seriously how the fuck didn't hell break loose between the US and Russia?

Just found out Max apparently has a thing for the bbc as well. There are officially more cuck-friendly relationships in this show than regular ones.

This show made me want to play DnD again. But i don't want to end up like Will.

Damn, americans look like *that*?!?

He is the lux extinguido

Did they explain why does the monster enjoys eating fertilizer/bleach? I thought it feeds on flesh

I don't think so.
This season was the worst. They even outed Will as gay...

Overall the show is light on the SJW propaganda when compared to anything else out there, but yes.

It was obvious the redhead girl would only be allowed to exist if paired with nog. Only way redheads are tolerated in hwood nowadays. They thought to themselves they already had Mike-Eleven, Hop-Joyce, Sean Astin-Joyce, Jonathan-Nancy, Steve-Nancy, etc. They just couldn't have more white pairings.

This season it was very forced then El and Max are looking at comics books and they look at Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, but not just any Green Lantern, Black Green Lantern. I can just picture the showrunners throwing a bitch fit when the assistant got a regular Hal Jordan comic and was fired for being a racist.

I want a creature/monster that sees us as the abomination. Imagine a creature from a place where it is the sole experiencer, a hivemind-like entity whose consciousness is present in literally every form of life where it’s from. Now imagine it encountering something/someone who’s *not* a part of it. Imagine how horrifyingly alien that would be for them - something that is not part of itself.

The moment you make the monster talk you lost

He just wants to be loved

I wish

Sure thing, buddy. Everyone knows candlejack doesn't exi

Pretty much, yeah. I'm starting to get tired about all this "subverted expectations" and "surprise motherfucker" scenes and moments in tv series, even more if it's just about pushing and agenda (must we talk abut the newspaper idiot who looks like Trump?): sometimes I it would be nice just to have a more traditional story, something expected developed in a good way; steve and robin got along very well, the chemistry was there, they even got some moments together (handholding? Get a room, you two), I think it would have been nice if based steve finally had something coming his way (how exactly did he become the nerdy loser if he was the most popular guy with a hearth of gold in town, in season 1?) but no, we got Robin "lol I'm so gay, now we can be best friends" coming out.
It's getting tiring, after a while anons

Will was outed as gay this season...

Oh come on, what?!

Attached: 1560951421121.jpg (400x426, 35K)

>Will was outed as gay this season...
I still don't know. The way that was handled had me thinking it was written as a line about his immaturity, rather than sexuality. You know, he just wants to play DnD and have everything be like it was, but all of his friends are pairing off and losing interest. It's poignant and fits nicely with the nostalgic aesthetic The "it's not my fault you don't like girls" line really seems more like it was butchered on delivery by a director who misread the line.

It definitely was left open to interpretation and debate on purpose. They knew exactly what they were doing with that line.

Attached: index.jpg (225x225, 4K)

It's Lisa Frank Lovecraft, Trapper Keeper terror, that's why it's addictive and aesthetic yet ultimately unfulfilling. Also S3 basically anime

This? Just a shitty sjw design. They're not here to produce something cool, they're goal is to irritate viewers with redhead/nigger combi

>pretty obvious the Duffers had no concepts at all for anything after the first season.
I absolutely hated 3 until the final two eps, the ending was emote and effective. Now that it's over, I've reconciled that ST is operating without a map, and while that's shitty unlike Lost or Star Wars, it arguably works for ST because it has a theme of childhood and childhood imagination is often nonsensical but fun because it's just smashing and lavalamping imagery from outside sources together with raw alchemy processes. You want exposition for monsters, this isn't that show.

Neck yourself

The Upside Down is literally Earth where nuclear annihilation from the Cold War occurred, and the creatures are either mutated fauna or entities that cosmically entered through the resulting chaos opening that are attracted to hate and destruction. And the Duffers totally got this idea from Yea Forums during S1

Attached: 1550009901945.jpg (600x334, 57K)

Portals between Russia and Hawkins are the only thing confirmed for S4

How can women ruin thing's so consistently
Samr shit with the ending of interstellar

Tbqh the US gov killed off towns using sprays and other experiments and no one cared. Or look at Mena Arkansas where the CIA ran cocaine and two kids were killed by the traffickers and left on railroad tracks

This. I still can't understand why it would fuse the 30+ bodies it had into a sigle giant target for Eleven, especially after it said "She can't kill ALL of us". It was retarded

This is what I was trying to say earlier if you scroll up. Also that 11 was made by scientists from our timelines future as a means of a last hope to prevent the upsidedown (our future) what happened. Total rip of terminator pretty much.

>Overall the show is light on the SJW propaganda when compared to anything else out there
Not understanding the entire Biblical parallels of S3. Bobby as Christ, a long-haired "lifeguard" who gets tyranical and crucified in a fucking shopping mall. Eleven as El, the ancient all powerful Hebrew God. El as a Holocaust survivor who escapes the evil white pypl's experiments and is taken in by a Jewish kid. She's genius IQ psionics too like Israel's Uri Geller. The kids as a tribe of Israel constantly pressured to break up. End of S3 is literally Exodus. America is merely a temporary battle ground of materialism and shallow but fun culture. Russians turned into meme because they broke from the Bolshevik Judeo agenda. Shawn Levy laughs as he snuggles his yeshiva mysticism into Netflix's biggest meme show

There is absolutely no reason why the monster couldn't have just destroyed the shed El and Jim stayed and just bury those fuckers alive.

But then, a lot of the things in the show just bugs me the whole time.

not a monster and not really interesting
all they showed us is that they live in 4th dimension which is something we cant even understand so its pointless

This. I actually think what they have done with Will is more perverse than a token LGBT storyline. They've basically turned him into a super dark cypher of child abuse and repression and stripped away any childhood identity. Will is both a realistic composite of kids who suffer mass trauma irl, and a highly dubious composite of an SJW agenda exploited into a creepy pedo Hollywood fantasy used to patronize redpilled viewers and subconsciously irk parents.

We'll never know because 8/9ths of the episodes are junior high revelry, shw panderignn, and shitty melodrama.

The entire show is a rip off of 80s cliches, so its fitting.

The upside-down is actually hell

SCP-093

That's how Hopper ended up in a Russian prison, he didn't die, he was just transported to Russia.

>russians tunneling through the upside down to invade US
Seems like a long way to walk for hopper. I guess they have working cars?

They accidentally identified an absent father with sexual identity issues, which is a connection no one wants to acknowledge. If they make him gay, I wonder how many will pick up on that redpill.

Yeah. Call me crazy but the Duffers seem pretty entangled with pushing some of the kid actors to the brink. I honestly feel like Nancy or Jonathan will od before S4. And the Duffers kinda want it to happen. And with Will, that actor is supposed to reflect his character irl. As this andro beta new human. Same as with then trying to force Max into the black kissing. They're pretty ruthless considering the Moral Hollywood reassessing that's so trendy. Honestly this show is pretty coked out all around.

Based norm poster

Yeah I guess science fiction should never touch on really out there concepts and stick to stories about like slightly more advanced smartphones or something

s1>s3>s2

There's a portal

The upside down has wormholes? They haven't hinted at this at all. Biggest failing of this show is the focus on the kids instead of the interdimensional travel and monsters. I guess its all pointless when eleven just grimaces and fucks everything up anyway.

Oh Christ, the soi scum as going to rave about how amazing and epic and and le cool xD the homages are when they use time travel in the story and clearly have it be Back to the Future inspired even though you can easily guess they'd take that route what with all the fact the show is an eighties wankfest.

I hate smoke monsters so much and wish Hollywood would stop using them

idk

Anyone read Paper Girls? Imagine Stranger Things, it's also set in the 80s, with a $100 million budget for the first season, that portals 2,000 years into the past and 2,000 into the future, with pitstops in le 90s. This is Amazon's Stranger Things killer and they're really betting big.

Marvel already did that with the Beyonder in 1984

didn't know they were doing a series, i bought the comic for my step sister and actually really enjoyed it. hopefully it's not trash.

That movie gave my ex a traumatic flashback

nigga even the actor himself said Will doesn't want to grow up

Why won't people understand that Will isn't meant to be gay but yes a guy who is sweet and sensitive (which are often mistaken and bullied as gays)

You know how autists here have 2d waifs despite not being compatible with the 2-dimensional plane?
His own females suck so hard that ours look like saints in comparison; so he’s willing to take that hit

Aka Harvey Weinstein

I'm glad
