Why is it the only big 60s franchises still alive are Star Trek, James Bond, and Scooby-doo? What do they have in common that gives them immunity from aging?
Why is it the only big 60s franchises still alive are Star Trek, James Bond, and Scooby-doo...
jailbait
Constantly reinventing them self every few years.
Short skirts
>great dane
>70lbs
My hound/lab mix weighs nearly 80
yeah I was looking at those charts and that stood out to me too.
Scooby is a really big dog.
> Mr. Takamoto drew the original sketches for four human characters and a dog (widely believed to be named after Frank Sinatra’s scat-style singing in “Strangers in the Night”). The dog’s physiognomy was Mr. Takamoto’s contribution. “There was a lady that bred Great Danes” at Hanna-Barbera, Mr. Takamoto said in a recent conversation with Cartoon Network Studios employees. “She showed me some pictures and talked about the important points of a Great Dane — like a straight back, straight legs, small chin and such. I decided to go the opposite and give him a hump back, bowed legs, big chin and such. Even his color is wrong.”
>Between the ages of 15-17
I figured they'd be slightly older than that, like early 20's or something
7 years is the end of the life of a Great Dane but Scooby seems fine and never showed any signs of senescence.
turning shaggy into a disaffected war veteran (with scooby as his service dog) was a good change
>Fred
>5'11
They were meddling kids user.
In the original series, they are always said to be in high school.
I just always assumed they were the same age. Based on those ages, each could be an entire grade separate from one another.
Oh right, forgot that line. It's just that it sounds a bit too soon for kids that age to travel around and solve mysteries for a living
what's the new show about?
They're certainly meddling young adults in The live action movie and Zombie Island. Which begs the question, did any of them go to college? If we take A Pup Named Scooby Doo as canon, they seem to have solved mysteries for zero compensation from the ages of 9-~25, broken up and immediately found moderate success in the workforce.
Its like the show was men't to run for long enough that they would be in they're early twenty's.
Somehow there were only three seasons of the original show. That just doesn't seem accurate, I wasn't around in the 70's so I don't know.
Boring celebrity guests.
Y I K E S
There's a Ricky Gervais episode coming up.
Meant for
why is Shaggy acting so incredibly based?
Wait, so Scooby Doo is anime?
For you.
From the thumbnail I thought that there were fart clouds coming out from under Velma's skirt. H-Haha...
>2015-2018
what the fuck
he's a war veteran now
the premise is solid enough that they can easily translate to other generations I guess. There's always gonna be some shady business owner doing stupid shit for profit and there's always gonna be spy shit (Scooby doo and james bond).
My guess is that Star trek is so far into the future with tech that we don't currently have that it seems somewhat possible I suppose? I dunno since I never watched that.
Shaggy looking slick
>Shaagy 6 foot
Bullshit. Everyone knows the shagster is 6'3.
Scooby-Doo and Batman have universable concepts that allow themselves to constantly be tweaked and rebooted to fit the times.
sexual frustrates Velma is the best thing comming out of this show
this and the supernatural crossover
Once Bobbi Starr played Velma I don't know if I could go back to Daphne.
The hippy fedora van that redpills kids is timeless, goy.
Mystery Incorporated was unironically a great run of seasons. The only Scooby series to have continuity between episodes and an overarching plot. This allowed them to actually form relationships and whatnot. Great show.
