This pretty much concludes the saga. In my opinion, Even though Alita had some annoying issues that kept her back from being a James Cameron masterpiece, it definitely had some great moments filled with soul. I was worried about the uncanny eyes but I ended up loving them. It's a damn good fun movie that unfortunately got crucified for the sake of Brie Larson's success and Disney's multi billion plans to buy Fox. She was destined to fail at the box office no matter how much James Cameron and his team tried their best. The only thing Alita has right now is the people's love. She needs all the love she can get if we want to see a sequel(which probably we wont since is Disney's property now but still Cameron holds the IP so there might be a small chance of a future sequel)

In the BTS she show a decomposition of 3 stages of CGI that they put Rosa through to get to Alita. But in the end it's basically just erasing Rosa from the shot entirely and then placing an Alita render into the shot, taking all of Rosa's motion capture and facial expression's and placing them onto the extremely high polygon model of Alita.

It true the cgi technology has advanced significantly over the years and Cameron is one of the best cinema effects pioneers out there. The point is that no matter how good technology is, it requires the hands of a true craftsman to make the best out of it. I mean look how good Gollum looks in lotr trilogy. With limited cgi, the result was mind blowing back then, and these effects along with the practical ones still hold up and look great on blu ray as well and can give modern movies a run for their money. If alita had been in the hands of a terrible movie producer, the result would range from just bland and boring(new godzilla movies) to hideous and uncanny(new sonic trailer lmao)
