Yeah. This is how you market in 2019, and you can see this in several Disney and Netflix properties most prominently, but extends beyond those two companies:

And repeat, forever. A nice side benefit of this, is that it inherently defangs any criticism of your product - female Ghostbusters getting bad reviews? That isn't because it's a bad movie user, it's only because of incels, review bombing, misogynists, etc. and so on. You should still buy a ticket.
If outrage culture died today, you'd see the end of stunt race-swaps and gender bender casting tomorrow. It isn't being done as social engineering, or to appeal to minorities - it is a cynical way to market to insane "woke" white people. And, apparently, it works pretty well.
