Are we ready to admit that this a masterpiece? A proper Trek movie made for the fans who helped bring the show back. A thinking man's movie and not some brain-dead shit like Star Wars.
Has the best score too.

Firstly, Star Trek 2 is better.
Secondly, criticising a movie franchise made for children for not being a thinking man's movie.
Being the polar opposite of "brain-dead shit" doesn't make this a movie for intellectuals. There is nothing thought provoking in this boring slow motion picture.
Not enough lasers and explosions for you?
it is a masterpiece.
but i think you have to have seen the original series or be a trek fan to appreciate it.
Was that rainbow an unintentional LGBTQ thing?
It's the ultimate pleb filter
Actionbabbies HATE it
>My celibacy is on record
What did she mean by this?
Kirk is known for sleeping with a lot of women.
Or she's just a sjw feminist who was ahead of her time.
No. Rainbow designs have a lot of uses over the years, and it wasn't until 1978 was the rainbow flag for homos even designed by Gilbert Baker.
rainbows are just cool
fags don't deserve them
They ruined Jeff Gordon’s car
To be honest, I only know Jeff Gordon's car because of the rainbow. Did he end up with a different color scheme later?
It's better than the new JJ ones that's for sure.
Yes.
It has beautiful slow placed visuals and a mystery and a threat that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The visual effects were good enough the Independence Day reused it 15 years later.
It's a good standalone film even if you don't know Star Trek (because I know very little about TOS).
And a cool twist ending.
>slow
I presume you also hate 2001: A Space Odyssey, Mulholland Drive and Dragged Across Concrete then?
It was always a sci-fi masterpiece. Only plebs disagree.
This movie canonically introduces the Borg.
How?
Dull, plodding SFXfest with a good score. TWoK was based.
They were the ones who gave V'Ger its powers, and taught it to use the phrase "resistance is futile," although that might only have been in the novelization. I don't remember.
Its a poor mans 2001 a space odyssey. It's no masterpiece but it's still an enjoyable film. I understand why they did it but there's a lot of pointless gratuitous shots of the enterprise that get boring extremely quickly and it doesn't have the adventurous feel that the show was known for.
original series + motion picture + wrath of khan is the only part of trek i enjoy for some reason. and voyager - the ending
>Firstly, Star Trek 2 is better.
Wrong
>t. Didn't get it
youtube.com
Pure fucking kino
Starfleet must suck if only the Enterprise is available.
two isn't better. one is better. And it's not made for children, idiot.
The rainbow is a covenant from god not to destroy the earth with a flood and fags and kikes have turned it into a mockery. If you're a fedora atheist that's fine but it's still what happened. Jews are jewish regardless of how hard you can tip it.
V'Ger would have easily defeated the borg
>Secondly, criticising a movie franchise made for children for not being a thinking man's movie.
The lack of self-awareness in this comment is so mindblowing, I can't believe it's not bait
>Star Trek
>a movie franchise made for children
My dad would like to have a word with you
