I think the biggest question of them all is: ARE they going to bring back the Sith? Because that would be the ultimate "fuck it" move. Since the end of the prequels, Return of the Jedi has been explicitly understood as the end of the Sith Order. Anakin fulfilled the prophecy and destroyed the Sith once and for all.

If Disney actually does bring back the Sith, it means they're willing to completely shit on every single thing Lucas has ever done, all in the name of making money. And, well, all bets are off after that. Who knows what they'll do with Star Wars.

Heard similar leaks to this before. It's so incredibly bad, lame and awful, that most of us wouldn't be surprised if it's legit. It continues to shit all over the legacy of the OT and PT, and the character of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader especially. TFA and TLJ already wrecked the original story and sacrifices/developments pretty much beyond repair, so this movie will probably be the final nail in the coffin.

I'll only clap for the hilarious memes this turdfest will undoubtedly give us. But I'll never pay to see a Star Wars movie in theatres again, at least not under the lame direction of Disney inc.

The original movie was totally different. Luke was alive in the ending (Mark Hamill even filmed scenes with Laura Dern), and the first act of the movie was Crait. It was going to end with Rey and Kylo holding hands.

Obviously, the Luke vs Kylo duel is a very late reshoot. Trevorrow said that on twitter, but you can notice how the photography and CGI is totally different for the duel.

Interestingly enough JJ apparently pushed for the more radical designs but was not allowed to, he wanted Snoke to be female, then after it was decided that it has to be a guy, he wanted him to look like he's made of marble, but nope, decrepit old man it is.
I'm low key hoping that he'll push more for original ideas this time, but seeing how the LFL execs just can't stop meddling with these movies it seems unlikely.
