BOTB, Battle Back, the Immunity Competition, Camp Director and Camp Comeback, etc. they all do the same two things: 1) they create a large majority alliance that seeks protection in numbers to neutralize the effects of the twist, and 2) they prevent people within that alliance from flipping out of fear that the twist will be used against them in the future, such as HGs refusing to make big moves out of fear that the person they targeted will come back in the game.

She didn't understand why anyone would team up if they didn't have a majority. Today's BB players, especially recruits, don't understand that the game is supposed to be socially fluid - anyone can align with anyone and anyone can betray anyone if it's better for their individual game. Instead we usually get the athletic, "popular" people forming a super alliance to take out the ones who don't fit in, sticking together to guarantee themselves a spot in jury, and not wanting to make moves against the strongest players until it's too late. It's unfortunate that this has become the norm because new players come into the house perceiving that as the only winning strategy.

A dog is quite a bit of work, user. Not unmanageable, but it's not as hands-off as a cat. Lots of walking and playing, and pretty much anything you cherish will be destroyed eventually. If you don't give a shit about that then a dog is definitely more fun.
cats are low maintenance. i wouldn't recommend one if you can't put it outdoors because living with a litterbox in the home is fucking disgusting. dogs are maintenance heavy but you bond with them more too. if you want companionship get one of them.
