Using VLC since aeons and it never let me down a single time, plays all video formats and has a shit ton of options available plus skinning for the eye_catch_faggots.

There is literally nothing wrong with VLC.

Also it allows finer tuning of playback speed over MPC, which is good for those marathon movies.

Same. How long has it been around, nearly 2 decades? I've never encountered a single problem, ever, with vlc. Not a single crash. Christ, it will even play (what it can) of huge videos you've only downloaded a few megs of, its the only player I've seen that can do that. I've never had the player freeze or not play anything correctly and I've never seen anybody say what you're talking about. Those options are completely optional. I only change my subs settings. I barely touch it and it works.

mpv with no gui. Can't live without that MPlayer based keyboard interface and command-line options. It's like having a 101 button remote control, I have a second keyboard on my couch just for it. The way I have it set up, I open the video from my file manager and it automatically fullscreens on my telly instead of my monitor.
