How come normies were so angry with Game of Thrones while being happy with Endgame?

How come Endgame's numerous problems are ignored?

Because muh Russo

GOTfags are bitter incels who need to have sex

Endgame's problems with time travel shit being weird are pretty much expected for anything involving time travel, outside of that it still delivered in giving a compelling story line and an emotionally satisfying ending

I wasn't. I was hyped for Endgame and The Long Night. I watched them both in one weekend, and they were completely disappointing. Many deaths were hyped in both, but barely anybody important died. More deaths doesn't make a better story, but don't hype a situation as grave then wave a magic wand and fix all the problems, ending the conflict.

The MCU was never good while GoT was good and turned to shit. People expected more from GoT.

/thread

Because GOT and the author are pretentious and people expected something amazing and not that limp dick ending

Because normies don't care about plot structure, they latch onto characters they can self-insert as and don't give 2 shits about what happens plotwise as long as their favorite characters get satisfying endings that they approve of.

MCU became more solid over the years.

GoT went downhill.

Also different audiences, stannis and night king fans complained moderately about the decline of their favorite character's arcs, but daenerys fans were already too entitled and retarded and then they chimped out.

Why was Black Widow's death just Gamora's death from Infinity War but with Black Widow copy-pasted into the scene? That was so weird.

Dude, MCU was never anything to write home about by way of content. It's the new(er) standard for action spectacle that's replaced Michael Bay movies. I'm not saying it excuses them from any criticism but if you ever pause and wonder why so many people are grateful for them, it's because they finally put something at the center of the blockbuster cinemasphere that isn't those awful Transformers movies. That they're what's considered standard is a fucking Godsend if you go back and remember the stranglehold Bay's garbage and its ilk had on all of film until Marvel stepped in.

As for the whole GoT thing, that's something people liked because it's actually "good," like by real standards. Supposedly. idk I never got into it

Killing Thanos was a worse Blunder of the Century than The Long Night.

And don't give me that BS about bringing him back in Act 3 so it's OK. That was another Thanos. OG Thanos died. Characterisation throughout Infinity War died with him.

He was so awesome in Infinity War. WTF were Russos thinking? Awful.

As a HUGE MCU fag.. Trust me when I say, the problems were not ignored..

Infinity War is far superior.. And Endgame ended up being a "greatest hits" love letter to the franchise with a sprinkle of wrapping up a few arcs.. Endgame was actually a letdown due to some of the problems.. Infinity War was kino.

Normies aren’t upset with the plot holes and inconsistencies in the Game of Thrones ending, those had been apparent for literally half the series by that point. They were angry that Daenerys didn’t “win”. All of the casual viewers I know were fine with the final season right up until Rhaegal died. Had Daenerys killed Cersei and sat the Iron Throne, this would have been the highest rated season of the show.

> Killing Thanos was a worse Blunder of the Century than The Long Night.

This right here ruined everything, and it happened within the first 10 minutes.. I don't give a shit that 2014 Thanos was wrecking shit.. I DON'T KNOW THAT GUY.

2018 Thanos was the real OG.. They literally wrote themselves into a corner they couldnt get out of.. Then they tried to outsmart the audience and they failed on multiple fronts.

>this would have been the highest rated season of the show.
Yeah fat chance of that happening.

>Expectation kills

I think the astronomical bombastic shitfest that was GoT overshadowed IW and Endgame's flaws. At that point people just wanted to enjoy something, and they knew they'd get decent cgi fights with the mcu either way. And knowing capeshit, not too much was to be realistically expected, especially with the flop of what was ms marvel

Not seen Far From Home yet. How's Infinity War and Endgame explained? Dissolving 50% and having a 5-year gap and THEN bringing everyone back? That kinda' causes some problems. Wasn't Earth shown as being borderline post-Apocalyptic in Endgame?

Thanos is all but immortal. He will be back, this is a continuation of his arc to (lawful?Chaotic?) neutral.

Eh

D&D became a meme during the week after The Long Night though. I remember people enjoyed The Long Night for about 2 days or so (was 9.7 on IMDB?) and slowly realised how goddamn stupid The Long Night was.

Infinite Stone sized plot holes. Basically, they set up the stones as having the power to bring everyone back from the dead in IW. This means that if the super team wanted they could revive all deaths in the future making every sacrifice in the future meaningless. The Russo's had to: eliminate the stones from all future movies; kill some characters in ways that they could not be revived; end a massive arc.

They needed to kill Black Widow in a way that she couldn't be brought back, so they soul stoned her. They had to stone Gamora in IW because it was the only sacrifice that made sense for Grimace.

They had Grimace lmfo the stones at the beginning of EG to eliminate them from the future movies and created time travel shenanigans to give the mains just 1 shot with the stones again.

The only thing I'm really unhappy with was Iron Man just getting burned and dying. Would have been way fucking cooler if he had been turned into iron by the stones. Then we could have had a shot of the "statue" at the end with everyone looking sad and it could be an important background set piece for future movies.
