If you want a serious answer it's because the modern Hollywood environment demands more serious female starring films. But to have that uniform - on a Hollywood star who got buff for the role like a man - would be too sexualizing, which is problematic. And for a serious movie they can't change key, obvious details of authenticity like the uniform or the body build, because it shows by contrast how many male Hollywood stars do their best to beef up to the real athlete's level.
