They wouldnt say anything because they didnt say that Dizzy is best girl
Do (You) want to know more
Sir I dont understand. Why do the japs use bambospears in a nuke fight?
(YES)
Put your hand on that pagoda soldier.
Is Denise Richards the most Stacey actress?
This rookie private chellenges you to a fistfight, what do ?
Wow, and the soldiers in formation in the background learning to dress-right-dress? That's some nice attention to detail
> Dr Pavel? Im UCF
>if I remove this mandible, will you die
unquestionably.
It's amusing on a rewatch that they didn't overstep it with the 'girl power' for this scene. She gets exactly one hit in on the drill sergeant and that's enough to get respect out of everyone watching. Then she gets obliterated and rightly so.
I miss when talented people made movies.
If I let Dizzy beat me up do you think she'd rape me afterwards
well, on a related note, it saddens me when (most) people think Starship Troopers is a fascistic movie when it is in fact a p. good antifascist movie.
co-op showers for everybody when?
i totally wouldn't meat-gaze. hahaha.
>A movie that has nothing to do with japan
>brings up japan for no reason
Sir ! Id ask her to marry me, so we can take the fight to bugs together Sir !
Calm down, he only brought it up bc of the Hiroshima reference.
Does he put the inside women?
jesus, i'd forgotten how good prime denise looked. she's untouchable.
Dina aged better imho
Bet you don't get all weepy eyed for the Carthaginians do you weeb faggot
They would say something in japanese.
What. Hiroshima destroyed? It is a thriving and well kept city. Did you mean city fathers in 1940's? Sir, it has been standing there for over 600 years and it had many mayors during that time. Why would I answer your vague question about world war II perspective?
It's been a while so no, but I'm still butthurt about Constantinoples
Pls be my battlebuddy Diz
Move aside civilians, best girl coming through
Why was Rico punished for the live-fire incident?
It obviously wasn't his direct fault.
Implying brain bugs are not male. The planet bug was male so bet this smaller models are also male
But it was his indirect fault
He ordered his subordinate to take off his helmet, ignoring safety regulations, leading to the unnecessary death of a soldier under his command
oh man do you actually know that line by heart
Fun fact. The movie was censored and later forbidden in germany. (Not anymore)
They completely changed the translation whenever the movie explains its citizen ideology. The Hiroshima quote was also censored and translated with:
>I wonder what the soldiers of the first bug war would say about that?
German censorship literally invented a 1. Bug War because any hints at unprovoked violence was deemed "problematic". The movie is now fully uncensored when it comes to violence, the translation is still in there.
We're all indirectly responsible for a lot of deaths though.
>any hints at unprovoked violence was deemed "problematic"
Quite funny considering the idea of the State as having the monopoly of legitimate violence is a german idea (Max Weber iirc)
It was the 90s. Almost all movies from the 60s-2000s are now retroactively uncensored when it comes to gore and violence. Funny how times change.
people just get hung up on the dress aesthetic. also brainlets automatically assume a militaristic culture = nazi. verhoeven makes great, fun movies but he didn't understand nor try to understand the source material which is a real shame. starship troopers is one of the great sci-fi novels.
Did you know that Johnny Rico is Filipino in the original book?
M-maybe
oh yeah, dina aged better. but in the prime? denise takes it 10/10
I'm not sure about that but it might be because Dizzy as a character is bit more developed
When you think of it, it's not more "fascistic" than ancient greek city-states, the difference being that here Service gives the right to Citizenship instead of Citizenship giving you the obligation to serve.
Anyway, it seems to me that Verhoeven was trying to show how the Federation and the bugs were actually similar as a social construct.
KEK
This is like how Japanese people talk.
>"I'M FROM BUENOS AIRES AND I THINK KLENDATHU SUCKS!!"

If they're all male where are they coming from?
well yes, dizzy is a way better character and rico should've been digging her guts out from the get-go. but as far as attractive females go? i'm sticking with denise.
the funnier part is that anywhere that has black people 100% of these will be in use by able-bodied blacks leaving none for the elderly or disgustingly obese thus defeating the purpose of stores having them in the first place

It's an attempt at an antifascist movie by a director who was too tone-deaf to realise that presenting fascism honestly and directly without heavy-handed use of atrocity as a framing device makes the average normie go "wtf I love fascism now"
Who cares? The book is not canon.
And then you get slapped down for being the kind of low-t pedant whose very existence is an argument for the failure of liberal democracy. Good going.
Imagine being butthurt enough to generate all of this text
Ya, Verhoeven misinterpreted the source material and attempted to make a satirical anti-fascist movie out of what he thought was a fascist novel. He bungled it and made an authoritarian militaristic society look good.
Regardless it's a great, entertaining, fun movie
>canon
Regardless it has more depth than what it seems. Haven't read the book though. Is it supposed to be a dystopian future though?
Defend everything except my balls
>Verhoeven misinterpreted the source material
Not exactly. He didn't finish it at all because it was "depressing". He knew what it was about and it was the opposite of what he wanted to do. He was a child in Holland during the occupation and grew up hating war.
>Is it supposed to be a dystopian future though
Entirely the opposite. It presents the same sort of future as the movie except in a positive light. I can't say I agree with it but it is thoroughly enjoyable and at least isn't retarded about the points it tries to make. If Heiny was alive today he'd be classified as a libertarian but I think he'd just call it conservative. Oddly enough he preferred to hang with contemporary SF writers who were often liberals and socialists than with his close political kin because he found the company more stimulating.

Imagine white knighting a country of backstabbing losers.
It's not too clear in the movie what's the difference between civilianship and citizenship, and if the only way to get citizenship is throught service, but it's hinted that citizenship definitely makes life easier (university, politics, having kids). So basically you have to do military service to get the real package. With that in mind, it's easy to see how a political system like that is dystopian in the eyes of today's average westerner, so how does he present it in a positive light ?
i love the film. it's one of my favorites and i love the book too.
it's a fantastic read if you like sci-fi. but it's more of a heinlein's interpretation of what he believed at the time would make a utopian society, a completely merit based society.
this 100%
Starship Troopers is unironically in my top 10 of all time
Our principal made us do that shit, three times a day, every day in middle school, someone told me that it was to prevent lice spreading. I believed them. What a fool.
>ywn get a handful of prime denise tiddy
[chair clattering]
What's that?
In the book, federal service is not limited to the military. You need to serve a term but it can't be delivering the mail or driving a snowplow. It has to be something as dangerous and gruelling as the army such as terraforming Venus and something he mentioned in Antarctica but I forget what. His thesis is that citizenship is something you have to earn, not just have handed to you. It's not because people who serve are smarter or are more law abiding (he even says that criminal activity is just as high among veterans). In the movie they say that a citizen has put their life on the line and made the survival of the larger group their personal responsibility and that spirit alone is what makes them better able to elect leaders or run for office themselves. The book expands on this beyond just sloganeering.
Even police officers don't count as a term, as I recall it is one of the "reserved jobs" that veterans get preference for. This is significant because of the implication not stated outright that crime must be so low in this new system, being a cop isn't even very dangerous anymore.

yeah it's an interesting idea honestly. i don't know if i really agree with it, but a neat idea nonetheless. must have skin in the game to have a say. my personal favorite heinlein is pic related though.
Still kinda cute tho, in mature mommy way
How did she survive her ship exploding?

I don't remember this scene, was it deleted?
Never seen this before, was this cut from ST or from a different movie?
Yep it was deleted from the original
I disagree, though like the other poster said it might be partially due to their characters biasing my mind. They are both very attractive though and we are blessed to have this film.
based
Interesting. It is a bit odd to see them doing that in the middle of a public space, a kiss sure, but prime time titty touch?
That's been recommended to me.
My problem with the system he proposes is that if the military starts committing war crimes or occupying a neutral and innocent nation or anything else you don't agree with, you have to sign up and serve a system that disgusts you for two years before you are allowed to vote against it. It ensures only yes men get to vote.
There are mixed showers and giant bugs user. Don't try to apply your timeframe logic. In the future a titty grab or a scrotum pinch may be as common as two people kissing in the park.
It got cut, maybe because Richards looks uncomfortable or maybe they were reaching too much.
Level 99 Chad, casually unbuttons his girl's shirt in public park and grabs a titty and she starts giving him "fuck me" kisses.
tit armor
fuck off kike
Stuff always gets cut. They always film more shit than they can use and have to trim something.
What? She got into an escape boat with Zander and crashed onto Planet Pee.
What a comeback. No really, you are the cancer that destroyed this website. And I'm not Jewish but your biological dad is.
fuck off kike
Heiny was a conservative liberal hippie militarist.

>that awkward look to the camera
No wonder they cut it from the film
If it was live fire a helmet isn't going to do shit, helmets don't block bullets. They're for shrapnel and debris from explosions.
Lose on purpose and let her fuck me in the ass with a strap-on.

That isn't a line though, he's paraphrasing and merging two lines from scenes a minute or two apart. Uh, that's what my... brother just told me who has autism by the way.
Fist her, of course.
Hot damn, 56 years old and she still looks like THAT? Meanwhile Denise Richards OD'ed on bogpills. Jewish genetics really are superior.
Also, the only restriction from not being a citizen is political, you can't vote or hold public office. He believed that you had to have experienced the struggle of defending or upholding your nation in order to have a say in how it's run. You can still have kids and do basically everything else
Jonny was from South America. There was no evidence in the book that his ancestors were American.
She could crush your fist with her vagina muscles, try something else
When you see a military parade and they are all in a perfect line like chess pieces, that is how they got into such a tight grid. They even distribute the soldiers by height so that they are all standing next to someone nearly their own height and even that is uniform in appearance.
LMFAO he thinks only pol knows that his people are cancer
Yes and the best part was about the dynamics of being a space soldier in tight quarters. The bugs were merely a backdrop not like hte movie where they took up so much space.
Fucking anime fag. Manga is true lore.
I doubt if this is her most recent photo though
In the book his nationality is not revealed until the last or next to last page. He doesn't even say the country but he does mention his native tongue and also names a certain war hero from there.
> trying this hard
South America was conquered and ethically cleansed by the Federation. Hence why it looked like 90’s North America.
Fair point but I think the idea of everyone who has a vote being a vet of some degree would lead to fewer retarded conflicts, because they know better.
Dina definitely aged better but Denise had to put up with years of Charlie Sheen pumping his HIV-riddled semen into her, with predictably dire consequences for her appearance. It would be like using a piece of Chernobyl graphite as a dildo.
Argentina was actually ethnically cleansed IRL, there's very little native admixture. Mostly just Spanish/Italian/German.
>using a piece of Chernobyl graphite as a dildo.
new fetish
From Denise's wiki entry:
>In 1990, at age 19, Richards had a rushed breast implant procedure, which led to the doctor putting in larger implants than she asked for. As Richards was preparing to film 1998's Wild Things, she had a corrective breast implant procedure, with the surgeon again giving her larger implants than she expected.

I think he might have, didn't she tell him on prom night that her family weren't home?
They knew that, but I think high command wanted to make an example of Rico
Is there any role Clancy Brown isn’t kino in?
The movie seems to have more than one example of that sort of thinking, on different scales. Consider how a giant beetle shitting plasma could knock an ass-teroid clear across the galaxy (and they show the map, Klendathu is on the other side of the galaxy) when it takes light itself centuries to make the journey. It's impossible. Clearly the federation did Beunos Aires as a false flag attack.
That one drives the troofers nuts since it happened in a movie 4 years before 9/11.
Looks like they were doing cover.
>You.
Y-You too...
FYI it's not Carmen asking the question, it's the one-arm teach, so why would you spill spag to a one-arm teach?
God...prime Amy Smart is the best girl. How did she fuck up her career so bad? I last saw her in Butterfly Effect. That was almost 20 years ago. Did she turn down Big Harv or something?
See the way she looks at him? What do you think he does with that nice big well rounded stump when he keeps her in after class in the afternoons?
got naked too early
bless her though road trip was rad
It takes more/something else than just being pretty. She's cute but she looks a bit bland.

Is the first one the only one worth watching?
yes. don't even bother to watch the sequels
There is literally nothing wrong with being Jewish
There were sequels? Yikes
The second one actually has an OK script but poor acting and somewhat low budget. It's worth it for the story and some cool moments. The third one is a massive steaming turd but there's a big battle early on which was OK. There is a full length animated one which I remember nothing about, it was not only stupid but boring as well.
Some people like the animated series but it's an acquired taste and looks like a 20 year old video game at this point. It's from the point of view of an embedded reporter with the Roughnecks and has enough different bugs and weapons to make semi-fun eye candy even if the stories are mildly retarded.
One is animation (3D), other one is called Traitor of Mars and I think that's about it
based and bookpilled
also sacred dubs
>eye candy
My idea of eye-candy is more akin to
Let me guess, straight to video?
Nice connection but its named after a US infantryman who was kia during ww2 and posthumously received the Medal of Honor
>There is a short mention of Young in Robert A. Heinlein's 1949 short story "The Long Watch". In Heinlein's Hugo-winning 1959 novel Starship Troopers, the troop transport TFCT Rodger Young is named for him and the Loesser ballad is featured prominently throughout the book. Heinlein also included an "Historical Note" in which he retold Young's citation for gallantry. The starship "No. 176 Rodger Young" is also used in Paul Verhoeven's 1997 film version of Starship Troopers.
When you think about it, Rico killed someone twice by removing something
No that is a succulent and nutritious feast, not some empty calories.
Read the post above his. Yes the sequels were straight to DVD.
No idea, better ask , he seems more knowledgeable (if you want to know more)
Yea i know. Still funny though.
If this movie came out today that one hit would have been enough to make Yea Forums seethe for weeks on end about le stronk wymen ruining films
that's incredible. I had no fucking idea. how the fuck does that even happen? And when it does, how the fuck does he get a second crack at it?
He didn't "bungle it". By his own fucking words he deliberately wanted to make fascism look sexy and fun. It's not his fault the average retard like you sees literal models running around with guns to Han Zimmer music and thinks "woaaahh... fascism is COOL!"
I'll shove my dick in, then.
I like them tight.
>Han Zimmer
Basil Poledouris.
PICKED UP
I think the idea was to make a fascistic society attractive on the surface but repulsive on other aspects, leaving the spectators with an ambivalent, queasy feeling
Well user can defend himself if he's still around but it probably depends on how old you were when you saw it for the first time. His other big parody was Robocop and being very young, I could see that it was corny at the time but I thought they were playing it straight and it just turned out that way. Later I could see he was making a go at cop movies and TV shows as a concept.
With Troopers it's more obvious if you've seen those WW2 newsreels which Verhoser would have grown up watching, then compare with the fed net propaganda in that movie.
This again...
Starship isnt explicity anti or pro authoritarianism/facism
It deliberately rides a line. Yes their society give themselves enemies, impede on others territory and get many men killed in the process and there seems to be an incentivized funnel into the military
However, their society is shown to be clean, efficient, people are united and happy, there seem to be tons of innovation in science and technology
Its neither hard pro or hard anti, it rides a line
>show men getting eaten live on tv
>cant show a cow getting eaten by a bug
???
Hitler was a veget-ARYAN and loved animals. There's a long tradition there.
fucking non-citizen censorship
Its not just "fun" brainlet. Their society is clean efficient and organized, there is a strong sense of unity and comradery among soldiers and citizens and science and technology seem rather advanced
It isnt explicity pro or anti facism
>their society is shown to be clean, efficient, people are united and happy
What's interesting is that we don't really believe it, or rather we hava a hard time imagining ourselves living in that society and being happy. But thanks for clarifying anyway. I had friends telling me "dude in that movie the humans are the nazis so the bugs are the Allies" and that was really infuriating not to be able to explain them the way you did.
Oil up and try to get a couple fingers in before she can beat me. If I can get her to arch her back with a some finger flutters to her gspot I stand a pretty good chance of getting to inject her with my semenal fluid
now THAT is some space opera fantasy level of sci-fi
Thanks for the real world analysis of the space war future armour you fucking pedant.
Go to bed Yuta
Ya agreed there is still something kind of eerie about it, could just be a feeling that such a society is kind of alien and uncanny, the tongue in cheek propaganda videos and speeches definetly back that feeling up, its like despite this society being near utopia-like for its citizens, we are constantly reminded of the brainwashing and school to military funneling neccesary to get to that point, but that point seems so desirable that we are left conflicted
It definetly isnt just FACISM GOOD or FACISM BAD, Its a weird uncanny representation of riding the line between both
they live like literal kings and queens. our forefathers would have been astonished at their decadent and luxurious lifestyles
Wow ya id rather be a vaporized gook skeleton than a gluttonous man who gets to eat yummy snacks all day and ride around on a mechanized throne, ya really got me there hoshi
Modern helmets do block bullets brainlet
Handgun calibers, rifle rounds zip through them.
They can ricochet rifle shots if they're coming from an angle.
Your mom can ricochet my cum from an angle.
That's Johnny Ricochet to you.
>And they have WOMEN pilots?! Immersion RUINED!! This entire film is yet more evidence of THE JEWISH CONSPIRACY TO EXTERMINATE THE WHITE RACE!!!
why was Carmen such a good pilot?
In the book the fleet prefers female pilots.
It almost doesnt matter if it goes through, if u popped in the helmet by a rifle bullet you almost get a concussion. Just the drag from a close miss with a hunting rifle bullet is enough to tear the head of a rabbit.
Lot of loyalty to a gun
She know how to ride
>chicky chang wang charlie chan chicka chocka chocka cha
Listen. I'm from Buenos Aires, and I say FUCK NIGGERS *honk*
were they related?
I think what a lot of brainlets don't seem to understand is that Verhoeven's presentation of fascist society isn't shown as successful because Verhoeven believes in what hes showing you. The film is intentionally propaganda through and through. The best way to look at this film is that its fascist propaganda beamed back to our timeline. This film is what propagandists would make, for god sake the film directly asks the viewer, "Would you like to know more? Are you doing your part?" This film glamorizes war, military, and violently dying for questionable causes because its a recruiting tool, a puff piece, a lie to sell fascist society. Besides does anyone honestly believe a man who lived through a Nazi occupied Europe would make a pro-fascist film?
> sigh
>does anyone honestly believe a man who lived through a Nazi occupied Europe would make a pro-fascist film?
yes
holy shit
Try watching Soldier of Orange, a film he made in his native tongue and starring Rutger Hauer (Roy from Brade Runnah). We know for sure that Verhoser was not a fascist.
It's literally just too subtle for Americans. These are the same people who watch American Psycho and think you're meant to want to be Patrick lmao. Of course protagonists believing in their fascist society is going to go straight over their head by a mile no matter how over the top, satirical and gory it is.
The average person on this board was what, seven years old when this came out? They probably weren't much older when they saw it for the first time. Take that into consideration. If everyone saw it at age 20 they'd probably catch on faster.
That's bc most people's idea of an antifascist movie is having a group of protags fight for freedom against oppression.
>roastiegettingtoastie.jpg
I remember when I first saw it I thought it was cool because it had the bugs from Half Life 2
Our ability to understand films with nuance has been completely destroyed. The average film goer has no interest in seeing a film that requires the viewer to actively participate in what they're viewing. Anything greater than what is directly told to them is lost. This board is proof of it.
> this board represents the entire world
