Now that the dust has settled. was this really that bad?
Now that the dust has settled. was this really that bad?
Yes.
There's a reason why this film replaced the common critical term 'jumping the shark' (meaning taking a franchise that was once somewhat rooted in reality into ridiculous territory) and replaced it with 'nuking the fridge'
If you take out the cgi goofer, the cgi aliens and the Tarzan scene it wasnt that bad
The refrigerator scene is funny and as believable as the raft in Temple of Doom.
it could have been good if someone else was instead of shiela boof and they didn't have fucking cate blanchet fetishised (isn't she THEVEERE) and didn't have the fucking insufferable double-double-crossing plot chaff that plagues the adventures movies of this century.
the fridge thing is fine. what's supposed to be wrong with it? It clearly said "lead lined" on it
So you admit that it's among the most influential works of art
Yeah like The Room
It's very bad but not *that* bad.
What dust?
>no dom officer cate blanchett to intimidate me
Its a pleb filter
I don't even remember the plot.
In amongst all that mess of shit, there's actually a pretty good adventure story trying to get out.
I just can't believe that after 20 years THAT was the best draft they could come up with.
>indiana jones
>rooted in reality
No it was even worse
It didn't, though. Half a dozen people on the internet insist it did, but people still say something jumped the shark and nuking the fridge only really comes up when discussing the film. "Stop trying to make fetch happen."
More blatantly digital stuff than I might have liked but the people who've convinced themselves the first three were completely serious and realistic are fucking cracked. One mad German cunt was obsessed with it on IMDb for years.
they didn't need to make this. they should've left the series with the Last Crusade. if they end up making a fifth it'll be doubly worse as crystal skull
user, Disney is making a fifth Indiana Jones movie.
PART TIME
That a lot to take out to make it good.
Script was bad, direction was top notch.
Not at all, actually.
I thought it was fine. I don’t care much for the Indy movies anyway so it didn’t bother me.
It's perfectly fine, just the usual OLD = GOOD NEW = BAD. When 5 releases, Crystal Skull will be loved
