What went right?
What went right?
Sandman was a good complex villain with ties to our hero. New Goblin was handled well.
The rest was Twilight-tier drama.
The poster
Yet still better than infinity war, endgame, the winter soldier, GotG, gotg2
I'll give you Endgame and Winter Soldier.
It was a different time...
nothing. it fucking sucked. sneed.
And pretty much ant man 1&2. Definitely civil war too
SLEEEEEEEEP
kek
I'll take Spiderman 3 over ASM 1 & 2, Venom and Far From Home any day.
It's far, far from being perfect but there's still good elements in it.
it followed Molina as Doc Ock and we wanted to see the sequel to it
what was Parker thinking?
He done nothing wrong
Basically nothing went right.
Sandman had a cookie cutter story that they shoehorned in to Uncle Ben's death.
Harry's internal conflicts have never been convincing.
Venom's backstory was non-existent, and the actor that portrayed him was a twink from that 70s show.
Peter's "dilemma" was high school tier.
CGI was way over the top (the last fight scene was a Playstation 3 cut scene).
Music wasn't done by Elfman.
Way too many uninteresting characters (exact same issue with Prometheus).
>This movie is still better than Far From Home and Homecoming
Why is the new Spider-Man so soulless?
If you didn't like the scene where Peter is on his scooter and gets fucked up by the hobgoblin, you're lying. And the Prometheus crew still didn't do anything wrong
Even the symbiote shit was (bare with me) handled well if you look at it from a thematic perspective. The real issue was that raimi raimi was forced to do too much
Because you're a contrarian who can't enjoy anything like when you were a little kid watching the shit third movie.
FFH wasn't bad, I unironically laughed at all the quips. It's way better than Homecoming and it's soulless because spidey is a little poof
Honestly, if they just cut one of the villains, the script would have been much tighter
"Hey guys let's remove our helmets just because and play with the eel thing, what could possibly go wrong ?"
>FFH wasn't bad, I unironically laughed at all the quips.
yikes!
Ned is hilarious
I'm sick of telling you the air is breathable and the eel situation? Curiosity
An argument could be made for the air issue but the curiosity part is still idiotic desu, it's a first contact with an alien creature and the scientist guy should have known better imo.
Still cant believe Spiderman threw that bus full of minorities into the Hudson.
It was interesting to see a story where Peter finally has a good life. His job is going well, he has the girl, people respect Spider-man. Then see it go to his head and blow up. All the shadow characters were good too. Eddie was inverse Peter, Gwen was inverse MJ. It could've been handled as a story to remind us why we like the originals so much, or to show where their story could've gone awry.
The Sandman stuff was dumb. Everyone likes to say he was the best part, and while more fleshed out as a character than the Venom stuff, the shoehorned uncle ben thing was stupid, yet is crucial for the deeper theme of forgiveness the film is trying to use him for. He has a solid motivation, and if Spider-man had to forgive him for something else, more real, like maybe an attempt on MJ (3rd time though?) or something. Messing with the backstory undercuts the theme they're going for and overshadows what they're going for.
If anything, if they wanted a theme of forgiveness. Give it ALL to Harry, who instead of dying like his father, sees the error in his ways and forgives Peter. He kind of does, I guess, but it's not the crux of the movie and gets side stepped.
Side note, Harry as the Goblin got shafted. You build him up for 2 movies, then have a 10 minute cgi overload fight in act 1? Then you make him a brand new character for act 2 by giving him amnesia. Then out of no where he sacrifices himself in act 3 and dies. Why? It's like they knew they needed to pay him off, but couldn't weave it into the story, so uh... Have him out of commission for the first 90 minutes, then die, whatever, the black Spider-man costume is gonna sell a billion toys.
The fight in Harry's apartment was good. Warts and all, Spiderman 3 is comfy
the emo dance scene
oh, I enjoyed it okay, trust me, but I still think it stinks as a Spider-Man movie
nah, that fight undercut Harry even more. If they wanted to maintain the theme of forgiveness, then they shouldn't have had Peter fuck his face up. Now Harry really has a reason to be pissed at him. Should've had Peter try everything he can to not hurt Harry. Really try to have Peter try to be the good guy that way it comes off as Harry being blinded by revenge more so than Peter being a dick.
But that's the problem with the whole movie. The theme of forgiveness clashes so hard with the backwards inverse set up of Venom.
Sandman and New Goblin should have been more fleshed out as characters, with Harry reconciling with Peter, fighting sandman, and not dying. Eddie Brock/Venom/Black suit could have been introduced but reserved to be main points for the fourth movie. Spiderman 3 is definitely not as bad as people make it out to be, but it suffered from an oversaturated plot. Just my opinion tho
The dance scene has always been kino.
Spidey did ragdoll Harry in that scene. "Look at little gobblin junior, going to cry?" Is hilarious and does sting
that's the problem. You go from Peter being innocent and Harry being blinded by revenge, and not able to get past it, to Peter being a dick, and we're 100% on Harry's side.It undercuts Harry's arc.
Spidey straight up told Harry that his dad didnt love him, then threw back a bomb at his face
Harry dabbing mid-air after being brutally injured
It's about family.
And that's what's so powerful about it
The Emo dance down the street is kino, completely misunderstood by normies who don’t get the scene is played for laughs.
Spiderman 2 and 3 are based. Really makes you think about morality and shit. All new capeshit are just action and nothing deeper.
>5'8"
It was terrible. It was such a disappointing movie.
I remember this being the first movie that I was so excited for I could accept it was bad for about a week afterwards.
Weird thing is actually 2 solid movies cut down and crammed into the run time of 1 movie. All they needed was a solid editor to slim down the script and it could've been really great.
