Spider Man 2

So can we agree that Mysterio was one of the most kino MCU villains?

We all agree that Kevin Nash was raped in the sweltering summer of 92.

based

I know Mysterio was fucking with Spiderman's environment, but he handed those glasses over quick. Was Peter under a spell?

>villain
huh? Mysterio is the world’s greatest hero

drunk on lemonade

what I don't get is why anybody would think Mysterio is credible after his illusion was torn down in plain view?

Nobody knows what’s going on. All they see are drones shooting things. Mysterio made it clear that he was trying to stop spiderman from using drones to kill everyone (according to the end credit scene)

I mean the whole spectacle was a PR stunt to make Mysterio look like a hero. you can't have it work for him but when it's replaced by Spiderman fighting drones nobody is paying attention. and I don't remember the drones shooting anybody other than MJ and friends.

What are you trying to say here.

>why anybody would think Mysterio is credible after his illusion was torn down in plain view?
In a non-retarded world, no one would buy this crap. There are so many reasons why this makes no fucking sense at all for people to believe that Mysterio is the true hero, but we need an excuse of a plot for the next Spider-Man movie, don't we?

1992 was a pretty based year

Did he take his death or was that it

I really don't like that they changed the Daily Bugle from being a tabloid to being a fringe conspiracy site.

New York Post is more garbage now than it has ever been. Why not continue satiring it like it deserves?
I'm kidding, it's actually disgustingly transparent why they don't want to call out the New York Post anymore.

His motivations were trash but based Jake managed to make the character interesting nonetheless.

Hedging my bets that we're never going to actually know, and that they very well could have created an AI of Mysterio that effectively plays the exact same role.

100% agreed. The web-swinging scenes in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are God tier though. Sad it was so shitty

Spider verse is God tier cancer

>stops wearing the costume halfway through the movie
>kino

"no"

>went full retard in the second half
No

Good point. I need to read Manufacturing Consent.

KWAB

They already did the fake villain thing in Iron Man 3... and that movie was terrible. So, no.

Jake channeling that night crawler energy

I loved it

That or we will never know simply thanks to Sony shutting down every fucking cinematic adaptation of Spider Man after every 2 or 3 films

>Tony start hurt my fee fees 2.0
nope

it was kind of stupid, but J. K. Simmons' Alex Jones impression was kino

I think Peter was desperate to avoid the responsibilities of being a super hero outside of the street sense.

In Homecoming, he was psyched by his Avengers involvement in Civil War and wanted more. He eventually learned that he was happy dealing with small scale stuff that doesn't involve Avengers.

In Infinity War/Endgame, he was extremely out of his depth and died along with half the universe. That's a trauma.

In Far From Home, he's happy just being alive and being close to family/friends without having to dash off to save the world (and potentially die) again. He also seems really reluctant to address the void left by dead heroes and the expectation that he should rise to meet the greater responsibility.

So. When Peter gives Beck the glasses that quickly, I took it as another desperate move to pass off the responsibility of being a super hero to someone else.

The point of the film I think is that he finally understands the whole with great power/great responsibility shit.

That's my hot take, anyway.

Thought brad was a legend even if he was a raging homo

Anyone have a camrip of the moment Mysterio has the glasses and just fucking grins?

Got chills. So fucking surreal.

test

I think Homecoming is superior to FFH and Amazing 2, for all its faults, is much better than Amazing 1. I agree with the Top 3 though.

"wah wah Tony gave a kid glasses"

I like it. Its a nice way to modernize the character

jake gylenhall is a fuckin genius

>where’s captain marvel
>don’t invoke her name!
What did they mean by this

They stole it from the PS4 game, but in that Jonah is retired from the bugle and is running his AJ style podcast. Also the scene where Spiderman takes a selfie while swinging is rippied straight from the game. Maybe some other stuff idk. I liked it though because the game was the best Spiderman story since the second raimi

A quality post

He's great but Peter Parker is his friends are ridiculous
history and
It's the same homecoming plot
Peter's friends do not have charisma, Peter is an idiot and Spider just does stupid shits
MCU Spiderman is a disaster

Good take user
I’d like to point out that when he was looking at Mysterio’s dead body he asked if it was an illusion. I think that’s because seeing a dead person like that face to face seemed fake to him, not because he was afraid he was being duped.

>They stole it from the PS4 game
Which was changed for the same reasons.
Daily Bugle was fake news before Trump coined the term. Can't have that associated with [respectable] news outlets, now can we?

I didn't play the PS4 game but watched the handful of ending scenes on Youtube. Not even knowing everything that preceded it, I was glued to my screen and choked up by the final moments.

>I don't know what to do.
>Yes you do.

Great stuff. Never would have expected that from Insomniac. A shame the new movies can't even come close to that type of pathos.

is the MCU of Feige, Disney and Sony
They want to make 100% different from comics
that's not what I expected from Spider-Man at Marvel's hands
Updating does not mean worsening characters and changing ethnicity

SPIDERMAN SAID THE N WORD

Source?
Yeah the game even sold me completely on miles, his character was great. All of them were. Amazing what happens when you try to follow and do further justice to the source material. Insomniac really came through, even added the raimi suit as extra free content

I think we might also want to note the possibility that Beck's team may have baked some edits into the EDITH system? We know for a fact that he had at least copied the system over to his helmet because he almost never was wearing the glasses while using EDITH.

So when Peter asks EDITH if it's real and EDITH only confirms that there's no illusions present, I was just a little suss with the delivery of that line.

Beck himself said he always has contingencies planned. That might not just mean the identity exposure we saw in the mid credits, but he may also have planned to fake a death. I don't think his ego was great enough that he wouldn't plan for a case in which he might lose.

He had to know that eventually someone like Thor might come back and see through his shit, so he'd want an exit plan.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? Why would you watch a Disney spiderman movie?

It was an opportunity to see a group of friends I only see maybe 2 or 3 times a year

Incel freak

That scene was pure unironic kino.

>Peter Parker is his friends are ridiculous history and
>Spider just does stupid shits

IT KEEPS HAPPENING

Attached: 22e.jpg (279x304, 17K)

>Peter Parker is his friends are ridiculous history and
Speech to text?

that the media should have torn Mysterio apart way before they aired a one sided allegation against an Avenger.

The people saw what mysterio wanted them to see

I don't disagree.
And probably by the next film, SHIELD will address it and make it clear that Spiderman was actually trying to help.

But much like in real life, there will likely be people who don't believe that and treat Spidey like shit.

His identity has also been leaked which is a bigger problem.

So. Going into the next film, I guess we;ll have SPIDER-MAN IS A MENACE stuff like you'd generally expect. But between SHIELD and some Skrull shenanigans, they'll probably try to prove that Peter and Spidey are two different people.

Or just fucking go and do the Clone Saga, lol.

I'm expecting the next movie to be Kraven hunting Spiderman.

I mean otherwise Spiderman killed Mysterio and didn't report it to anyone, or whoever he reported it to didn't think to explain to anyone why a public figure is dead.

thats a pretty great list but i have reservations about putting Spider-verse in the rankings at all

He was a skrull the whole time.

Let me guess. Spider-man beats him and wins in the end?

Yeah but then Spiderman gets blamed for Mysterio's attacks and most likely a fugitive now. You didn't see that shit coming, did you

he is still around to spin the illusion since in the end he was still waiting on his cape to be steamed, and he was wearing his mocap outfit on the bridge, but "died" in his suit

kwab

Didn’t his uncle teach him about responsibility? I wish he said something about that when trying to get the glasses back.

I liked it until mysterio revealed spider-mans identity
no point in watching the next movie

based

>he doesn't want to see Kravenkino
Why?

>You didn't see that shit coming, did you
>the "oh no I got framed for some tragedy and am now a fugitive" trop
God capeshit is the worst.

Spidery has arguably the best rogues gallery of all time.

The casting is amazing. I can't tell if Jake Gyllenhaal is genuinely good at acting or if he's just shit at acting as a good person, but there's this sense of insincerity when Beck is ACTING.

I'd say he's tied with Batman. Would love to see how they'd deal with each others villains.

Unironically and unequivocally based

Attached: 1559957109353.png (600x400, 370K)

Yeah I just wish they'd get away from all the grit since so few of those guys fit right in that setting.

Would like to see at least Clayface on the screen some day.

Literally the logical progression of tabloids, plus it gives an excuse for JJJ to be on camera

Agreed, OP

You keep sliming Spiderverse shit in there, it’s not a Spider-Man film. Fuck off with that.

Excellent summary

Kek.

It’s the best Spider-Man though. Despite everything Disney have done recently, I don’t see why I should chimp out at this one film. I love Spider-Man and Holland is my favourite film version of him, although I liked Maguire’s too.
