Fight Club.

Game of Thrones

The first season of GoT is unironicly better than the first book.

Change my mind.

Blow-Up, but I don't like either the film or the story very much, the film is just a better version of the story.

american psycho

Every change they made for the show was for the worse.
>Ned is 50
>Robb is 18
>Dany gets violently raped
>no Jeyne Pool
I guess “Baelor!” isn’t in the books and that’s the best part of season 1

I read it. It’s a pretty interesting read. The first chapter has an extremely graphic sex scene, and apparently when the book first came out people would go to the library or book store and just jump to those pages lol. There’s also an incredible subplot about Sonny’s enormous penis being the only one to fill his love interest’s cavernous vagina, so once he gets lit up at those tollbooths she’s suicidal until she meets a plastic surgeon who can surgically reduce her vagina size. I’m 100% serious btw

the books are boring as shit. The world that Tolkien created is undeniably great but it's not that controversial to say the movies are better

starship troopers

Literally anything post-Hollywood Kubrick.

The Lost World was better too, if only because the film was a dumpster fire

The books are one of the best written pieces of English literature of all time, fantasy or otherwise. You are simply an idiot.

That seems like the book would be straight horror/thriller

Fight Club

The Shining

>Legolas sliding down things firing arrows
>Gimli being comic relief
The movies are great, especially extended, but the books don't have these Hollywood shit moments

12 monkeys

Everyone likes to dump on the film, but The Shawshank Redemption novella is atrocious.

American Psycho was a chore to read. It is pretty much Bateman reciting the minutiae of his day, right down to what flavors of ice cream he has in the fridge, and then occasionally slipping in "also, I killed someone."

The movie itself isn't that far away, only change the tone a little bit and you have a decent stalker horror/thriller

>comparing films to literature and vice versa

You people are a disease on mankind. If you ever write a book, and I doubt you will, remember to write "do not adapt without explicit consent from the author" on the first page.

Books should never be compared with films. Stop doing this.

And pardon my replies.

agreed, books are for retards

>spam
>writing a paragraph and conveying nothing
Clearly an intellectual. While it is difficult to make explicit similarities, characteristics like depth and quality can be purposefully discussed if the people involved in the discussion have integrity and are willing to explore by themselves what the other people are trying to convey.

Forest Gump

Utter moron have sex with yourself

The Prestige.

Although they're different enough that I would recommend the book as well.

The most reddit post I've seen all day, spacing and all.

Fight Club. Not that the book is bad but the movie is kino.

The books are way too detailed and slow

Literature is an outdated and obsolete medium that wouldn't even exist if Hollywood jews didn't like stealing ideas from them.

Film is keeping your dead art form on life support, bookfag.

Game of Thrones

Harry Potter

fuck off

>Tom Bombadil

Most of Kubrick's stuff based on books.

Pull that thumb out of your arse

>using the word 'obsolete' to refer to art
Unironically kill yourself.
Even if that was a description that could ever apply to an art form, Ulysses could only be a book, In Search of Lost Time could only be a book, Borges' stories could only be short stories
