Watching Calvary, it's peak comfy. Never heard of it before.
What's some other Irish kino?
There were some small Irish horror productions in the last years which all were quite good, the canal, etc, but those aside I don't really know much Irish movies. Only thing I can think of is The Wind that shakes the Barley.
What do you mean? I've only seen half yet and it seemed like normal dark humor
Matthew Flores
Oh OK. Thanks Do they go there?
David Fisher
Great location, acting and idea for a story. Ruined by the generic 'everyone in rural town has dark secrets' and the nigger. Im irish and have been fortunate to never see a nigger who actually lives here.
Jaxson White
theres loads of coons where I live t.dublin
Matthew Harris
>ruined by the nigger that was my impression of it, been a while. ireland sounds nice.
Jaxon Johnson
Siege of Jadotville in a sense, but it mostly takes place in Africa. A decent war film, but not a must-see.
Hudson Ward
Yeah dublin is fucked, i go down for shopping quite often but im Rostrevor in the north. Im sure it'll all wash up soon enough.
Last time i was there there were posters everywhere that were just brown people's faces with the sentence 'I AM IRISH' on top. It was hilarious propaganda shit.
In Bruges is almost an Irish film and better than most mentioned in this thread.
Great films.
Eh, I'd skip The General, Dublin Oldschool and Young Offenders. They're just alright. The Guard is overrated too, and Don Cheadle is clearly a marketing demand for the film.
Everyone knows the greatest Irish film is Fatal Deviation.
It fucking breaks my heart how closed the Irish tv and film industry is. Tv in particular has been DREADFUL for the past ten or so years. Love/Hate (which wasn't for me) seems to have been the last good thing RTÉ has put out. I haven't heard anyone talk about Irish television with any sort of excitement since it ended.
There's so much utter shite out there and nobody seems to be doing anything about it.
I would just like to say I really really liked Calvary, and I'm glad to see it's getting some attention on Yea Forums
David Clark
War of the Buttons
Luis Cooper
It's not comfy, it had me in edge and hating atheists.
I'd recommend 'Bad Day for for the Cut' now that's a comfy revenge kino.
Tyler Parker
It's a shit movie. >dad devastates daughter by letting himself die >dad doesn't bother to avenge his dog's murder >dad dies so some faggot psycho can feel peace muh Christ allegory religionfags are the worst. He should have shot that paddy and then the bartender, that would have been better.
Samuel Hall
Oh father why are you so sad on this bright Easter morn When Irish men are proud and glad of the land where they were born
