Does this movie have name? Or should i predict it is Lion King?

Brown people eat up these Disney remakes

LMAO the mouse is done

OH NO NO NO
twitter.com/DiscussingFilm/status/1149047907783467011

AN ENTIRE MOVIE LIKE THIS

Attached: untitled.jpg (675x369, 83K)

They didn’t need to remake this film. The Lion King is the perfect animated film. The remake will never be as good as the original.

black ariel is gonna make up for all the loses

>The remake will never be as good as the original
TFA was objectively miles over a New Hope

yeah that's going to be a pass

the voices and visuals just don't fit

>Expecting a movie to reach 1B within seven days

>Filled to the brim with celebrities that are just memes
Of course its gonna be shit only retards think otherwise

They're just updating for copyright

Won't flop but if it did it seeing Disney spin it somehow as racist would be some funny shit.

I-I'm hyped as fuck but that's because I'm a supreme autist for The Lion King. I just really love the story.

Attached: 1453068970826.gif (500x280, 619K)

>is this gonna flop bros?
>I kinda wanted to watch it
you can watch a film that isn't financially successful at the box office, user...
do you only watch films that make over $1b?

Just go see Hamlet

even the director would tell you that.

>Yea Forums predicts flop
Another billion for Based Disney then

Already did it. It's great obviously but I'm talking about emotional connection. Like watching the movie several times in a row for years as a kid.

Attached: 1432026219147.gif (500x275, 458K)

Jews are literally incapable of creating new things, just improvising and ((innovating)) on existing ideas. It's about time they exhaust the last of Walt's legacy.

oh no no no mouse bros when did it all go so wrong?

I'm afraid it will smash many records actually... and it looks like shit, but people love Lion King and classic Disney movies. It'll probably at least break a billion desu senpai

Attached: 1562796950100.jpg (355x417, 40K)

Stupid idea.
What next, a live-action Lego movie?

>>virtually no hype for this movie
>is this gonna flop bros?
same script for every Disney release. at this point it's a mathematical certainty that it won't flop, yet every time we have these threads leading up to the release
>Aladdin
>ostensibly (and actually) shit
>makes bank

>Jungle Book
>complete rehash of cartoon
>makes bank

>Beauty and the Beast
>Watson's a wooden mannequin in it
>makes bank

at what point will these threads cease?
>inb4 mouse shill hue hue hue

Run away, user, and never... return!

(no Jeremy Irons... DROPPED)

Attached: 5cade4fde031e814ae152478-960-480.jpg (960x480, 50K)

It's nostalgia bait backed up by the Disney marketing machine, it'll do fine. Just remember people actively hated the trailer for Aladdin and that did alright.

>Toy Story 4 won't make a billion because people largely see it as unnecessary and because Spider-Man stole some of its audience
>Spider-Man won't make a billion because it's already seeing huge drop offs and Lion King is going to further steal some of it's audience
>Rights revert back to Sony
>Lion King will have a strong opening but won't make a billion because people see it as unnecessary and word of mouth will spread plus general audience fatigue of having Disney movies literally every two weeks
We're living in the Schadenfreude Timeline where Disney's competing with themselves and spreading their profits thin.
Hopefully they'll learn from this. Probably not

adam pls go

hey, jungle book is great

>Jews are literally incapable of creating new things

What about Star Trek? Granted Roddenberry was secular.

Attached: Gene_Roddenberry_crop.jpg (360x480, 190K)

>I kinda wanted to watch it
You are what's wrong with the world today

i watched it with my little cousin and it was pretty good desu, probably the "best" disney remake at this point

Do you know Naked City's Absinthe?

Correction: Spider-Man is a Sony film and all profits go to them but still, Disney/Marvel directly benefits from that deal and I'm sure they still had a hand in scheduling it's release

>DURRR WHY AMINALS LOOK LIEK AMINALS
Maybe this is more your speed retard
youtube.com/watch?v=hwf1ziMCsi0

Never because/tv/ is literally too retarded to learn

Damn, looks way better

This is actually better though. At least it looks like they are talking. In the new Lion King it looks like the voices are coming from nowhere.

Star Trek is based on already existing stories, concepts, and philosophy, but set in space, and following a science fiction film rush from the 50's.

>HURF REALISTIC ANIMALS CAN'T EMOTE OR HAVE ANIMATED BODY LANGUAGE

Attached: rocket.gif (386x218, 1.34M)

Looks like a parody. Is this a joke video where they just make dumb voices over the actual video?
Regardless of the sound it still looks quite stupid, they made the lion move like a cat and float like it has no weight.

>Star Trek
>Wagon Train in Space.

>I kinda wanted to watch it

why tho, the OG is a perfectly fine movie that's easily available to watch

The voices totally do not fit the charter designs so that was my first impression, but now I see the problem is the character designs don't fit the charter. Glover was well cast.
I do think the desgins would work for a different story, like pride of Bagdad or something.

I'm your opposite to a certain degree.
I on purpose have avoided to watch the lion king for many years.
Now I want to watch this live action remake and then watch the original.
I hope I like it now that I'm old.

youtu.be/RNhqqpiiO3Y

Just keep watching the animated version then you retard. You know this is going to suck, why give Disney both the benefit of the doubt AND your money?

if south park hadnt cucked itself it could do a live action mr hankey episode now

Attached: simba_expressions.png (503x780, 229K)

what in the world

>it's going to suck
haha no

0,05 Mouse Bucks have been added to your account.

YIKES

That's what happens when you already have an actor in mind so you skip the audition process. Same with Beyonce as Nala.

People used to audition for months for voice parts in Disney movies (Jasmine in the original 1992 film took like 6 months to finalize). Nowadays they bank on star power so they approach the actors first and just wing it.

Unironically soulless

oh dear

Attached: 1544898058813.png (894x773, 48K)

HAhAhA

I literally have zero clue why disney listened to beyonce and gambino and went for this all secrecy no money on marketing type release if i didn't see that pic i would have no idea when this even came out

I bought one of the original mufasa sketches. Its cool Tbh

This just looks so fucking weird. The lack of colour and vibrance is fucking horrible.

How about this shit? Didn't it at least underperform?

Attached: 163190421_54be12.jpg (810x1200, 255K)

underperform is an understatement. That shit fucking bombed.

Just keep zooming out
Don't show the faces
They can't sing
Make the Lion dance
Dance monkey
Give me your money
Dance monkey
Buy my movie monkey
Make the audience smile
Smile monkey

My grandma wanted to see this so I went, no one was in the theatre opening weekend and it was fucking shit

I hope every Mouse flick flops. The Mouse needs to die

The DEFINITION of souless.
The absolute state of Disney jesus christ

I do wonder how animators and the directors even put this together. They must know it looks like shit.

This. Anytime a movie chooses fame over talent its gonna be shit. They probably said "who are the top 10 most famous people"

That wasn't a remake

>even the normies on twitter are clowning on it
Shitstorm imminent.

Attached: 1482548643974.jpg (453x695, 88K)

>TFA was objectively miles over a New Hope

Attached: insult to life itself.png (1280x720, 902K)

Its hopeless
Nostalgiafags, normies and parents will go

Just watch the original?

I feel like people forget a flop for disney would be career making for anyone else

youtu.be/YSyTfpPARPY

OH NO NPO NO NO HAAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHHAAHAAAH

Good fucking lord.

Attached: 1557882626501.png (230x232, 117K)

Why is Twitter so racist against the African lions?

checked
it did not bomb
it's so shite and bland i actually forgot about it... definitely underperformed, but did not bomb/flop
what i'm saying is at this point Disney is like a very large insuring agency. sure they may lose some money here or there, but the probability of utter failure is infinitesimal by now

Kids are literally retarded and will let this up, so will their parents.

>no hype for this movie
Nigga are you serious? Normies are foaming at the mouth for this shit. So many of them are excited to hear Donald Glover poorly emote instead of just seeing it

>Normies are foaming at the mouth for this shit.

No they are not.

literally soul vs soulless

Supposedly Sony forced Marvels hand and told them they had to release a spiderman movie this year or the contract to use him in the MCU was void, initially avengers was supposed to be the last MCU movie released this year

>cast is full of famous niggers
No, it won't.
It will earn 1.500b dollars.

Lmao no
Nobody I've talked to is hyped, it's either outright indifference or they have an issue with the style (or lack thereof)

That movie needs 1b or Disney is losing the rights.

Why would anyone greenlight this

But why bother in the first place? I bet they could just re-release the original into cinemas for the younger generation to experience for no cost and still make bank.

Attached: 1560393217190.gif (480x270, 360K)

I guess I'll ask this here
Is the Lion King 4K worth it or not really if I already own the Blu Ray? I already rewatched the movie last night and the colors still looked really good so idk if HDR would make much a difference there.

The original is not woke enough

disney did rerelease the lion king in 2011

releases is something disney used to do a lot

$$$$¥¥¥¥££££€€€€

Is that Seth "DUDE" Rogen as Pumbaa? Oh God.

(You)

Why would I watch it? Mufasa local dubber was a great actor who died 19 years ago, I don't want to see him get the shaft.

Also, good job Disney, you made the most expensive National Geographic (which they now own) documentary of all time so you can have "is an animal and its mouth goes up and down when the actor speaks".

This is Disney.

Attached: 1558280271149.png (434x524, 250K)

just watch it again then. why encourage this kind of soulless garbage?

yes

walt had already been dead for decades when lion king was released

Just watch the stage musical.

>when you spend all your budget to achieve the most realistic looking animals forgetting to animate them

The voices aren't as good as the original by a long shot, but it'll do really well. Unless there's some woke Nala or something, I'd take my kid to see it if he was young enough to want to go again.

Presented without comment.

Attached: temporan.png (496x409, 141K)

You do realize you can still watch a film if it flops? Why does your enjoyment of the film depend on whether others liking it?

>ctrl f "live action"
>2 results
kill yourselves.
if I took a shot every time someone called this movie a live action remake id be in a Las Vegas hotel room.

Attached: 1544538934951.jpg (550x444, 77K)

>Dominate the creative industries
>Aren't creative

It's the actor from Parks and Recreations that always screamed and barked orders at people.

>It's the actor from Parks and Recreations
Am I supposed to have watched that millennial trash to know what you're talking about?

Its lion king with cgi instead of animation and with marketing that emphasises that black people voice the lions.

So I dont really know. It should be ignored by people in general but flocked to buy parents desperate to entertain their kids for ome evening.

It doesn't matter. Disney will "magically" make those ticket numbers soar.

We are living in an era of 1 billion dollar movies that nobody has seen.

It feels like given how desperate they are to make it look real.

wasn't that just China and done by cinemas themselves.

It just has no emotion. Glover was a great choice. Beyonce sounds off as fuck.

Beyonce ALWAYS sounds like shit when she does voice acting. She's done this before and she always sounds like she doesn't give a fuck. And yet they keep hiring her as boon bait.

i remember when dreamworks did the cut-rate low brow black people animations like shark tale while pixar/disney was doing art for white kids

Glover sounds like a weak funny guy, doesn't fit a Lion (assuming that's his voice, I've never heard him before and I can't tell who's saying what in the video to be honest).

beyonce isn't even in that clip
what kind of false flag shilling shit is this

>twitter.com/DiscussingFilm/status/1149047907783467011

Dude you are most likely a grown adult children these days don't like animation as much as you do let it go.

gene wasn't jewish

The whole point of Animation is to avoid hiring over paid actors. Celebrities who aren’t even trained voice actors.

If they hired meme celebrities they clearly know it’s going to be shit. The jungle book movie was good but it least had an emoting human being in it.

based Buddhist

Animation has hired celebrities for around 3 decades now.
Lion King has James earl jones, Jeremy Irons and that's just on top of my head.

Literally looks like some elaborate commercial for cat food or something.

>Glover sounds like a weak funny guy

That's more or less how adult Simba originally sounded though.

I remember for the early marketing they made a big deal about hiring black actors for all the lion roles, because Africa. I thought it would be kind of neat to see TLK with everyone having Swahili accents, it would certainly give it some flavour.

The fact that they hired amerimutt actors instead seems like such a waste.

Children love anime tho

>disney publicly discriminates against non-black actors
Yeah that never happened

Looks so bad. Whoever thought this was a good idea?

Source?

>disney has no 2d artists left
>every animator is a 3d animator
>plan is to remake every classic movie to make money
>3d remake of lion king looks like that

lions are the biggest pussies among the big cats

Can someone tell me how come everything looks more lifeless than the Jungle Book? Are they trying extra-hard to avoid uncanny valley?

This has nothing to do with 2D vs 3D, and everything to do with some galaxy brains at Disney thinking they need to push a hyper-realistic artstyle for their cartoon instead of going for pic related.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 122K)

There's no hype for autists
There's massive hype amongst normies, just the fact that james earl jones reprises his role as mufasa is enough to get them excited.
My wife cried when the first trailer played
It takes place in Africa, why wouldn't a bunch of niggers take all the roles?
In short have sex incel
In short, have sex incel

That doesn't mean it had to look like a desaturated photorealistic uncanny valley nightmare with characters that don't express at all

Oh I can't remember, you are probably right.

>lions
>not cheetahs

That’s a yikes from me.

>My wife cried when the first trailer played
Did your wife's son cry, as well?

Maybe they plan to have real animals in their theme parks that look like the ones in the movie with little microphones spouting the voice actors classic lines.

Stuckmann just gave it a C

You want the real redpill?
The Disney execs realised that their company is single-handedly responsible for the creation of the furry degeneracy, so now they're working to undo that by remaking all the classic talking animal films using an artstyle that makes all the animals as unfuckable as possible. Take it from me, I can't fap to this movie at all.

Exactly this. I'd love to see TLK in IMAX, if only because the opening, stampede and final fight sequences would give me chills.

That and Beyonce. Star power is all this movie is banking on for success, when the original didn't have to do that. Or at least the star power for the original wasn't that strong and overrated.

Based

Looks like ass.

as if that's going to stop some people

What do you think of the new Be Prepared?
youtube.com/watch?v=kLQ6SRH90s4

The opening sequence to this remake, the singer sounds bored as fuck. There's no power, no weight.

You know, you just gotta convince that Disney is exploiting their nostalgia and its workers and maybe that'll get people to wake up to being manipulated by the Mouse. Voting with your wallet is a very powerful thing.

Why does whether or not it flops affect whether or not you go see it? You only watch things that are popular? Faggot.

Holy fuck that's BAD. The singing is whatever, but the music is barely there. There's no excitement or anything. I'm guessing the goose-stepping hyenas are out, so it's going to be inferior either way.

Sounds like Scar is just standing there, singing, and not moving around and having the time of his life. No banter between him and the hyenas.

"There's something very cheap at the core of this overtly, ostentatiously expensive film, reliant as it is on our memory of the original to accentuate every significant moment."

- Pat Brown, Slant

Yep, just as I feared.

Being an Aspie, I was going to hate this remake no matter what when they first announced it.

Yep. Be Prepared is my favourite Disney song and they absolutely butchered it.

Mixed reviews on RT so far, The Stuck gave it a C, and Jahns said it was a good time if you're drunk. For him to say that must mean that it is truly reprehensible.

Considering the shit with Hakuna Matata, I wonder how insanely cringey the I Can't Wait to Be King sequence is going to end up.
How the hell do these remakes continue to miss the mark on the original's songs?

I'm just gonna download it hahah

>It’s a good Disney remake, but was it necessary? Maybe not, but it’s enjoyable. – Peter Sciretta, Slashfilm
>Did we need a live-action version of The Lion King? Maybe not… but this version is beautifully crafted by Jon Favreau…gives me all the feels on being back on Pride Rock. – Kit Bowen, We Live Entertainment
>While it’s a story you know, it’s soooooo well done. – Steve Weintraub, Collider
>The Lion King will be a touching introduction to a timeless story for a new generation, but I’d never rewatch it over the original. – Laura Prudom, IGN Movies
I did not believe in the "Disney pays off early reviewers" theory until right now.

IS THERE HOPE? Seriously, if this does bad or at least below Disney's expectations, could we finally be rid of these stupid remakes before they ruin any more?

I genuinely want to see the trainwreck that is Can You Feel The Love Tonight. The whole sequence hinged on the non-verbal expressions of the characters like Nala's bedroom eyes, it'll look absolutely ridiculous with the current artstyle and animations

What about The Morning Report the special edition put in long ago? Think that shit's in this? Now THAT was pretty bad, tolerable the first couple of times I watched it as an older kid, til I decided to only ever watch the original cut cause it's just cringe.

>I genuinely want to see the trainwreck that is Can You Feel The Love Tonight

well for one it doesn't even take place during night

Fucking spot on.

I fucking hate every single casting choice except earl jones

TRUMBLING DOWN
TRUMBLING DOWN
TRUMBLING DOWN

IT ALL RETURNS TO NOTHING

I never asked for this shit in the first place. CGI is stupidly overrated; why would you want to see what is essentially real-life creatures or movement as opposed to 2D animation, which is like watching a painting come to life?

YES SLAUGHTER IT

>It's real
Holy SHIT

Attached: Screenshot_20190711-121449__01.jpg (1080x872, 119K)

>why would you want to see what is essentially real-life creatures or movement
Because it's crazy to see animals talking and acting like humans, especially if they look realistic.

Guardians of the Galaxy was 2014 and Rocket Raccoon looks great
Jungle Book was 2016 and had none of the issues this one has

It'll never be realistic because animals simply don't talk like us. It will always be uncanny valley.

H-how does a movie come back from this? How many critic scores are averaged usually?

Eh, Jungle Book's CGI's got problems, trust me. It's gonna age poorly.
Practical effects > CGI
any day

Jungle Book kind of worked because Shere Khan’s personality changed from a suave predator to an unreadable stone face killer.

>I'm the joker baby

The worst fucking part about this is that Simba throughout the entire movie just has a blank look on his face

It'll just be a scene for scene remake of the cartoon one, but with shitty, non-expressive cgi characters, and maybe an added plot line about the power of feminism (with something about the lionesses being oppressed, and same with the hyena - they're abused by the "trumpian" scar, who will try to build borders around the pride lands)
Aladdin should clue you up on what to expect from Disney.

As an aside, reckon they'll hire a black actress to be mulan?

Also the boar identifies as a lion.

>when some female amateur version sounds better and has Soul

This music video from 2015 has a better jungle and animal CGI

The absolute STATE of disney

Just watch the original again you shill.

A movie so uninspired that it takes from Raimi’s movies directly because they know they can’t do better.

>stole some of its audience

How? A movie costs like 15 bucks. Are people not capable of watching two movies over the time that they're in theaters?

That clip reminds me of the Prince Ali clip from the new Aladdin. No soul, no energy, no feeling that it’s anything but a copy of something superior.

Too much control. Disney knows now that it doesn’t need to actually take real risks anymore, and doesn’t even need to have actual directors direct.

People are Disney Zombies now, so whatever they slap on the screen will make them a mint as long as they remind you of something better. The remakes, MCU, and Star Wars movies all have that formula, and as long as people mindlessly go to the films they’re fine with it.

>is this gonna flop?

No, it'll do fine, Disney fans can't tell quality from quantity anymore.

Attached: 1537757200147.jpg (481x481, 60K)

Movies get way more expensive when you take a whole family, the main audience for Disney crap.
15 dollars becomes 60 dollars plus concessions which can easily be another 30-50 dollars
Yes, people get paid every two weeks but a try fitting multiple 100 dollar outings into the family budget when that could be better spent on an actual vacation

This. It’ll make them back money because “fans” of Disney/MCU/Disneywars are literally human sheep at this point.

I saw it and thought it was awesome but the critics don't like it so

I guess Jon Favreau isn't the visual auteur so many normies thought him to be.

Attached: zed193.png (281x389, 130K)

Rocket is not a realistic animal though, he's anthropomorphised.

it really is an issue with the director even if they are realistic looking you can still move the camera around man

you are black

>Comparing a solo movie with a crossover movie

Twilight Princess got better sales and Midna, Wind Waker is a pirates game disguised under Zelda brand

Like every animal in every Disney film ever.

Hence why we really didnt need this. If I wanna watch the Lion King I'll fire up the DVD. If I want to watch lions in the wild, BBC has some superb documentaries about African wildlife. And if I want to listen to Beyonce or Glover sing, Id just put them on on Spotify. What were they thinking?
