Nostalgia for the three original kick-ass movies. Literally everything else is pure shit though.

It did not anymore unless represents the leftist cause.

Replacement for religion and pop culture at the same time

It had a nice series of 3 films that dominated everything else sci-fi during it's time, the hatred of the prequels died down, merchandise and EU shit that kept it going after the movie hyped died down, easy to follow stories, very safe movie series to like.

It was the one-two punch of the OG Trilogy being this huge, memorable thing that spawned an entire subgenre of science-fantasy, and the Prequels being this huge, memorable trashfire that was nonetheless beloved by children who didn't know any better. It produced this unusual dissonance where the shittiness of the prequels was offset by the grandeur of the OG, and the OG's established community of Star Wars obsessed loonies used the narrative of the Prequels to write entire timelines of lore.

Harry Potter did that well before Star Wars.

Fuck you asshole. The EU was canon till Disney purge them and regulate them into mere fan fiction status. What do we have now? Twitter fan fiction made canon. From people that don't understand the OT and never could.

Phase 1 clone armor is by far the most aesthetic and there's nothing you can do to convince me otherwise

A total lack of personnality and self worth

why do mass gatherings like this almost never take place with people cosplaying as Rebels? i wonder. ich wundere mich

I was never arguing that the EU should be abolished, I'm in fact saying that the sheer enormity of the EU was one of the things that enabled Star Wars to become the cultural titan it is today. There is enough lore on Star Wars to build your entire life around it.

>sand people single file

I honestly couldn't tell ya. I loved it when I was a kid, and I still enjoy watching the first three movies, but I don't understand this fandom. I don't understand why people get excited because they saw Darth Vader dancing to "Gangnam Style" at Disney's Star Wars Days. I don't understand why people cried when Han Solo died in TFA. Watching that asshole Stuckmann lose his shit because he wasn't invited to the new Star Wars theme park just boggles my mind. To me, these people have a mental illness that's akin to some form of OCD, where they HAVE to "experience" every new thing that involves Star Wars, and society just kind of goes along with it, because it's okay to be mentally ill as long as you're spending money.

I like my three basic movies. I don't need the remastered versions of the first three, or the prequels, or the new episodes, or the standalone films, or the endless novels, or the comics, or the TV specials, or the shit from Wookiepedia, or any of that crap. Just give me a handful of space wizards, a basic tale of good vs evil, a classic dilemma (what's more important in determining who we ultimately are: our abilities or our choices), and some evolving relationships between the main characters and I'm happy. Let the "save the world" stuff kind of be in the backseat and in 6 hours, I can be finished with the whole thing.

The best thing to do is to act as if this sequel trilogy never happened. It is the worst thing to have happened to Star Wars. Hamil already spoke out as much against it. It's only a matter of time until the others share their true feelings. It was nothing more than a cash grab by greedy suits who were once masters of conveying a story.

brilliant scheme. perfect pop of color off the stark white
