Whatever can be said, MCU was a better adaptation of the Marvel comics than Disney Wars was of anything Star Wars.

I've been saying that for years. It was a tried and tested 3 arc story, that managed to breath new life into the franchise during a time when George was still saying he'd never make anything beyond the OT. But nah, lets have JJ do a retread of ANH, but with a worse script.

They have no announced movies. I don't think they're going to decide what to do until after they see what happens with 9. If it doesn't perform they will lay off movies for several years

Only issue is you'd have to get entirely new actors for Luke, Han and Leia. Wouldn't be so bad in hindsight, but I can imagine there'd be a lot of seething.

For a Star Wars movie, IX will bomb. It'll still draw a lot of viewers on brand name alone, but it might be the lowest grossing Star Wars movie since Solo.
