They didn't? Giamatti should have picked better roles after that though

The scene where he buys a Barely Legal magazine was so fucking weird. I guess its realistic for a divorced single guy in his late 30s put it really put a creepy spin on a character that was struggling to make his life better.

>5 oscar nominations
Why are you such a retard OP?

Boomers loved it

cuz they know they’ll never write a script that’s half as technically perfect

Also don't forget he's a high school teacher.

There's nothing weird or creepy about nude 24 year old girls in plaid skirts you stupid bitch.

Great acting, great script, great score. I was lucky to catch this one at the peak of my passion for life and cinema. Will always cherish its memory.

an oscar is an insult not a compliment

Not back when Sideways was made, you fag.

>nude
>in plaid skirts
and you call others stupid
LOL

Isn't this the same lady that cucked Walter White?

It was the biggest example of critics being completely divorced from the sensibilities of the average movie-goer for its time. Calling it highly overrated would itself be a huge understatement. Critics acted like it was one of the greatest films ever, but at best it’s just a quirky romcom.
I do think Paul Giamatti elevates any movie he is in, though. He made Lady in the Water a 6/10 movie when it should’ve been a train wreck.

it was pretty well received

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
POINT AND LAUGH

>No Country for Old Men won best pic two years later
let’s see a movie that well made win today

>crash won best pic one year later

What the fuck? Give concrete examples from the movie that were divorced from reality?

It was to show he was a hypocrite and so lonely. He berated his buddy for wanting to fuck a young waitress earlier in the movie.

>it's creepy to find young women attractive
I fucking hate what feminism has done to this society. Swear to god the way things are heading you'll be labeled a pedophile if you're 40 and bang a 25 year old.

who are you quoting lol

Your mom when she caught me eye fucking you in a pretty dress last night.

top tier actor

weird thing to bring up in a movie thread and expect people to know what you're talking about
you might be autistic

Is what your mom told me last night after I found a lego shoved up your ass.

well, she'd know, being a psychologist

He is indeed very good at his job. Seen him last in a few episodes of some sjw propaganda show called Billions. He plays an attorney.

It's a shame he never did anything as good as Sideways after

Billions used to be pretty based in the first season. It's gone downhill, but it's my guilty pleasure due to all the wealth porn.

You're my guilty pleasure user and oh boy am I guilty as charged right now :3

watching this scene after ruining a relationship was maximum pain

>Giamatti's face after she tells him she's pregnant
ultimate god tier acting right there. Simultaneously forcing to smile and fighting tears. Such a great expression of anguish, truly sublime acting.

Reminder that there are studies on sexual attractiveness, which shows that mens age preference doesn't change with age once they are adults.
From 20 year old men to 60 year old men and everything in between, the average peak of female sexual attractiveness is between 20 and 22 years old.

You old wrinkly roastie.

It's absolute boomercore so all of the boomer critics loved it and used their influence to boost it
