astounding contributions, gentlemen

Give me your list, no really. If you think your taste is better then I'd be delighted to watch some films from it to improve my own.

Probably BladeRunner 2049 and Arrival

hello riddit

okay retard faggot nigger w/ a stinky butt

Dogtooth was aight.

this but also 40s cinema and pre 40s cinema

I enjoyed the new Macbeth. Although it works best on the second watch when you begin to understand what the hell they are talking about

I really enjoyed Holy Motors, if that counts. Quite disturbing if you grow to understand it.

I was also going to say A Field In England but I wasn't sure if Ben Wheatley counts as arthouse given some of his bigger projects. Fantastic dialogue.

How is that even kinda arthouse pleb?

I like it.

How many cinema-goers do you know who have heard of Leos Carax?

>The Act of Killing
Just saw this yesterday. It's without a doubt the realest and rawest movie I've ever seen. I don't care if those are meme adjectives.

Donniebrook
Wheelman
The Standoff at Sparrow Creek

>it's obscure among my pleb circle of friends, so it's arthouse
You're everything bad about pseuds

Do you think an arthouse film is arthouse only if a certain amount of people saw it?

not that user but a 4m French film would fall very very comfortably into the arthouse category in the US.
U fags probably would call 90% of the films screened only in literal arthouse movie theaters not arthouse.

Midsommar is playing at my local arthouse theater? is it arthouse?

>a 4m French film
lol in what world is Holy Motors 4m long?
>in the US
Jesus christ, do u think films are arthouse depending on what country theyre being viewed in?

of course

...it’s...4 million, user...the budget
It depends on the budget and or intent of the filmmaker and it is a rule of thumb that a low budget foreign film is not really destributed to rake in the big bucks

Keep talking, I'm writing a book called "Things plebs say adamantly"

is English your first language, kiddo?

Holy Motors was based

Resorting to baseless ad-hominems when you lose an argument just makes you look like a pathetic idiot

Still the only good piece of American arthouse of the last decade
