Yeah, where is it

Kino

liar

I've checked everywhere

Is it on Netflix yet?

Why do people splurge over K*rean shit? All that passes for """"""culture"""""" for them is ripping off Japanese directors

korean films > japanese films

kurosawa and shoplifters are the only fucking thing japan has. anime doesn't count

literally what the fuck?

fake and gay

>he hasn’t seen Burning
Bruh

Fucking retard, Japanese cinema is garbage. You can't even list five Japanese directors that have made a Kino outside of Toshio Matsumoto for his one film funeral parade of roses. I don't want to hear no kurosawa shit either.

Mostly agree. Definitely overrated cinema. Oldboy, Memories of Murder, Yellow Sea, Thirst, A Bittersweet Life, The Chaser, My Sassy Girl, just why do I keep giving these mediocre films a chance?

Why don't you watch any film from Koreans golden era of the 60s?

No torrents available just a thread to talk about the film from people who saw it

>Kobayashi
>Mizoguchi
>Ozu
>Teshigahara
>Hara

why no leaks when korea always has other movies leaked first

Kore-eda shits on every working Korean director, of whom Hong Sang-soo is the best.

Korean films are garbage but this is true.

My wife Rei is so cute.

Couldn't even list 5 influential western directors tbqh. Only a pleb gives a flying fuck about the names of people who work on movies.

Koreans can act somehow. Japanese cannot.

The plot sounds good but I can’t take Asians seriously in film. I’ve been laughing at them my whole life so when I see one in a movie it’s like a joke to me.

I agree that Koreeda is based
and that both Korean and Japanese contemporary films are in general extremely overrated

But I saw pic related recently, directed by the guy who made Burning, and I liked it more than Burning. It's a really masterful film. Genuinely top tier. And it's not really a thriller and it's not really about revenge. It's genuinely highly original but in a subtle not in a contrived way.

I highly recommend it just as i would highly recommend avoiding korean and japanese films in general.

This so much, who cares who makes the film just blindly consume Hollywood products am i rite fellow patricians

YESSIRREE

bruh... You could see the half a dozen absolute best recent japanese films just by watching Koreeda films. If you see a film you really like, watch the director's other films. It's probably the best way to pick films you'll like.

I don't get why people don't do that more often.
Take Manchester by the Sea for example. So many people here loved that. I have never seen anyone here mention Lonnergan's other films You Can Count on Me or Margaret even though they're both very very similar and extremely good. Doesn't make any sense to me

Lol Tangerine is actually a fantastic film though and I watched it because I loved The Florida Project and wanted to see what else Sean Baker had done.

Watched it last week and it is great.
It plays out like a Coen Brothers movie, as in mix match of dark comedy and tragedy together.
There is a pretty unexpected twist around the middle that change the whole movie's tone by the way.

>funeral parade of roses
Jesus fucking christ I've been searching this film for years
based user

is that xi jinping

You're fucking lying unless it's on private torrent sites only. Fuck off

That's pretty pathetic, and no I'm not a seething gook. You're missing out on some great films

Korean films have a distinct style over Japanese films. It'll be hard for me to put words to it but I can feel it.

Shinji Aoyama
Masaki Kobayashi
Teinosuke Kinugasa
Nobuhiko Obayashi
Kiyoshi Kurosawa
Sion Sono
Takeshi Kitano
Seijun Suzuki
Takashi Ito
Toshio Matsumoto also made Pandemonium, come on

its not ipt

I was surprised at how vaudevillian it was. It even has classic tropes like a clueless rich bouple and mischevious poor scammers, they run around the house and hide in wacky places for like 40 minutes, etc.

fuck I forgot to mention Ozu, I've never actually seen a film of his though

Laughing at niggers I understand, but laughing at based Japs and Koreans? Gtfo

> kurosawa and shoplifters are the only fucking thing japan has
You know why? 'Cause you haven't seen nothig more. meme anime live-actions or Takashi Miike's shit doesn't count

Aside from chinks which were mentally fucked by communism, I don't get the asian hate desu

Hello? Anyone actually going to provide a link or say what torrent they found? Because it's not on TPB and this thread is a load of bullshit that got me excited over nothing. Fucking nigger

t. seething weeb

this

Japanese live action always looks like stand up comedy. The worst is their exaggerated expressions, do Japs have a problem identifying emotions?

It isn't out yet

It’s actually out but a shitty camrip only

Jap """culture"""

So this shitty thread is just bait, bye

The japs are a nation of autists. They need exaggerated facial expressions to grasp emotions.

I think koreans tend to pick Jap shit and make it more “normal” but their films are probably the most authentic in korean shit
