Yes. it's been in development hell for some time but it looks like it's happening. James Wan is producing and a commercial director is directing. The original script was leaked online and it was worst case scenario. Like Trank's Fantastic 4 level guaranteed bomb. That script has been re-written and pre-production is happening. One of the guys form the Raid was just cast as Sub Zero.

Should be slightly cheesy with visceral action and shock driven violence. If anything the original film the west’s best attempt at an “authentic” king fu movie while staying true(ish) to what was available at the time for source material. One of those rare occurrences where all the correct people happened to be on the film. I wouldn’t get my hopes up about this one.

It's as good as the last few. The story is far better than MKX and the customizable stuff is implemented really well. The graphics are also incredible.

It's good. They finally figured out that nobody who actually knew how to play used the x-rays so now you get one when your low on health rather than using meter. Makes comebacks a lot easier and more exciting.

Honestly, high budget tv series is a far better choice for MK. Each episode can focus on a tournament match and it can show both fighters preparing and give us their backstories in flashbacks and then end with the fight.
