I read the book recently and realised this monologue is basically taken from Crozier's memories, not Hodgson's.
Hodgson didn't even betray Crozier. He rejected Hickey prior to the destruction of Terror Camp, only joining up after being found by Hickey's band in the aftermath. And from that point he was a prisoner that Hickey used for leverage.

That scene with Stanley and Collins was one of the best in the entire series. I liked how he just kept clenching his fists tighter. Feels bad that Stanley assured him the party would lift his spirits, and then literally ruined it himself and sent poor Collins into a spiral.
How that? I rewatched the episode with the trial yesterday and it seems to me as if it was Collins who somehow attracted Tuunbaq. If they had just a few more moments at least Hickey would've been hung and everything would've played out differently.
